so far one of the most anticipated battles in Touhou verse, this has to be one of the greatest episodes made. I must admit it made use of the iconic image we are so used to.
It's funny how Marisa just cares about Reimu evading her attacks.

I like how alice's and marisa's relationship is almost sisterly! Im really salty over mariali, since its almost never correctly intrepreted in fandom. (forgive my spelling...)

That moment when you realise the music during the argument of Marisa and Reimu regarding Yukari is in a similar style to Ace Attourney's Objection theme (the first game's one)... Can't wait to get the soundtrack for this and all the previous arcs (besides the ones that are already out). Also part 2 hype. =)
Where can you get the soundtrack anyway, some of them were glorious.
While I used a UA-cam to mp3 to get them, two of the CDs of the OST can be found on Dojin.co if you look up Yuuhei Satellite on there (the first episode and episodes 3 and 4's ost can be found on there). I'm not sure where to find episode 2's ost besides here on UA-cam though (Edit: the ones with the red border along the bottom, if you don't know which ones they are).

Real battle, not so sure. Yukari can summon Ran Yakumo to gain advantage, but Alice still has her grimoire that she sealed herself.

Since the Spellcard Rules allow Humans and Weak Yokai's to stand a chance against stronger yokais and even gods or Yokai with the power of gods.
If this is a fight without the rules then... Yeah Marisa and Alice are surely and undoubtedly dead.

9:35 SHE DID THE THING
It might be the only episode i really enjoyed on 8 episodes tbh, outside of alice personality, it captures quite well the ambiance of the most important parts of TH8 early on, and no major cringe like i had with the scarlet sisters. Although the Reimu vs Sakuya was quite good aswell.
Alice: *Shocked* “You’re the culprit of the incident, even though you’re the shrine maiden...!”

[The hosts looking at the Human Village via a large monitor. Marisa is standing behind a makeshift half-fence, similar to the kind used in home run derbies. Next to her is a table with her mini-Hakkero and some alchemical mixtures. About 10 feet in front of the fence is a small plank on the ground serving as a marker, and 50 feet beyond is a large boulder. A sizable crowd is on hand.]
Akyuu: While we're waiting for the spectators to recover from their overwhelming horror and nausea, let's skip ahead a bit to our second proposition. Several humans believe that by using a special defensive technique, it's possible to get hit full-blast by a Master Spark and be completely unharmed. In fact, one of them claimed that he personally witnessed the Hakurei Shrine maiden use this very technique.
Rinnosuke: Marisa Kirisame has accepted the challenge. Marisa, how many Master Sparks have you got on you right now?
Marisa: Well, I can fire 4 on a full charge, and I've brought enough material for...mmm...I'd say 8 or 9 reloads. Yeah, I have plenty enough to go through everyone tonight.
Rinnosuke: Heh heh...choice of words, Mari, choice of words. Okay, our first brave subject is stepping up...
[The Master Spark challenger steps in front of the plank.]
challenger 1: Ready when you are, witch.
[Marisa weighs the mini-Hakkero in her hand, takes careful aim, and fires. The beam slams into the challenger, who's eyes pop open.]
challenger 1: Yaaaaaaaaaa!
[The force of the blast slams the challenger into the boulder with a loud . He gurgles briefly, then slips to the ground in a broken, unconscious heap. A couple of volunteers cart him off.]
Akyuu: Who's next?
[#2 steps up to the plank.]
challenger 2: C'mon! Give me your best shot!
[Marisa fires. The beam slams into the challenger, who looks panicked.]
challenger 2: Whoa! Yikes! Gah!
[Carted off. #3 steps up. Marisa fires. Disbelief.]
challenger 3: Holy... _that's_ what a
[Carted off. #4 steps up. Marisa fires. Frustration.]
challenger 4: Dammit, why isn't this
[Carted off. The boulder is now completely shattered.]
Rinnosuke: Wow, I didn't expect it to go this soon. That Master Spark really packs a punch. [glances at beaten challengers] Of course, they'd probably know better...
challenger 5: Aw, looks like we're going to have to cut this one short. That's too bad. You know, I totally could've done it. A Master Spark is _nothing_ to me. Wouldn't even mess up my hair. Heck, if Marisa could see how I totally blew off her biggest attack, _she_ would...
[Suika pops in]
Suika: Hi! Is it true that a human is doing massive bodily harm to other humans right now? I love watching that!
Akyuu: Unfortunately, you're a little too late. This test requires a boulder, and... [points to remains of boulder]
Suika: Oh, is that all? Leave that to me!
[She does her "mountain throwing" attack and hurls a new boulder where the old one was.]
Akyuu: Thanks!
Suika: No problem! And if you need any more, I'm right here!
Marisa: All recharged and ready to go! Let's...
challenger 5: AAAAAAAHHHHH! THIS IS WORSE THAN THE TIME I HAD A CONVERSATION WITH SAGUME! [runs away shrieking]
At last! Been waiting for ever to see Imperishable Night get the Fantasy Kaleidoscope treatment and god damn it did not disappoint.

This is amazing to look at and listen to. I wish Tohou did get an anime. I would watch it.
Hmmm... I gotta say, I like Kirisame's old voice actor more. It just seemed more fitting to her character. In any case, it looks like this incident is gonna have much better quality than the Hisoutensoku episode. Thank the lord Kanako.
Finally, I have waited for so long!
That's weird. Those subs seem to be based around Celeste Melancholia's translation and are not to be seen on Manpuku's original video (I can only see my subs, based on Kuilfrayt's ones, and Manpuku's original subs). Is it my web browsers' caches acting up on me? Or it is simply Manpuku's original subs that were corrected afterwards (why not having taken Kuilfrayt's ones instead then?).
_Edit: it looks like Manpuku's original dodgy subs were indeed used as a base with some corrections here and there (where Kuilfrayt's better subs were already approved and on the video). So people, I clearly advise you to go elsewhere if you want proper English subs (lbEQjW41li4 - Maxmani's upload with Kuilfrayt's subs or RlDo2Yqvja8 - Celeste Melancholia's upload, both with shourei小N's fandub)._
