They will offer him an extension. No doubt about that. I just don't know where Russ is on what he thinks his current value is. His Denver numbers would warrant an extension here because we havent had stellar QB play since Ben got hurt. What is the number that would make Wilson say no and what is the number that would make Dan say no? If Im Dan Im not paying over $38 mil a year. Wilson will be 36 yrs old on his next contract. We don’t need to even talk hypotheticals of any extensions for Russ until the end of the season. After his last 3 seasons of falling off we need to see results before we offer anything.

Once folks realize that a QB can’t take a “TEAM” NO WHERE, the “TEAM” has to take the QB…it’s amazing how folks can’t understand this. Listen folks…a QB is “ONLY” on offense, which means, he “ONLY” has a role on “OFFENSE”. He plays “NO PART” …I’ll say again…”NO PART” on defense nor special teams, so he has “NO INFLUENCE” on how the defense nor special teams perform…PLEASE try to understand that. So AGAIN”, a QB can’t take a “TEAM” anywhere…the “TEAM” has to play well, in order for the QB to get “ALL” the glory….PERIOD!!!

tough call. i know people are saying he needs a SB or be gone! where it's tough is that there's a lot of movement in the coaching staff and offensive line. at the QB situation, we need stability at that position but also, they need to have time to really gel with people. Russ is a vet and he can do it.

He’s not staying. He wants to play 4-5 more years, which means maxing out his earnings, and then we turn right around and find ourselves back here again. He isn’t signing for $40 mil if he has that kind of season. 13 guys are making $40 mil in 2024. If Fields has anything we can get him on a discount for the same length and we can spend money on extensions for the offense.

What Russ needs to do is agree to a max of 3 yrs and have it be under 40mill per for starters or he needs to de-age 10yrs. Russ makes sense for this year. He makes no sense going forward given his eventual cost, his age, and the fact that they have Fields around.
We keep saying SB or bust. So no 7 means no russ. Move on, we dont have time for russ to be eating up cap for mayhe a couple years of nothing after.
