I know this because EastEnders previously did a gay 🏳️🌈 Muslim storyline in which Syed fell in love with Christian, but Syed's mother Zainab was homophobic towards them both although she eventually accepted Syed and Christian's relationship. Coronation Street did the same storyline in which Rana realized she was a lesbian and fell in love with Kate, although her mum Saira disowned her altogether. Eventually however Kate and Rana's storyline didn't have a happy ending like Syed and Christian's storyline did, as Rana died when the factory 🏭 roof collapsed. I couldn't stand Zainab for her homophobia but I liked her actress Nina Wadia when she was previously in Goodness Gracious Me with Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal and Kulvinder Ghir.

@@brandonb819 Mmmm. I wasn’t talking about that specifically I knew that I had to hide things from my mother. Even stuff that don’t have anything to do with social perception.. an example is that if a show had magic in it, I was not allowed to watch it.
Besides, even if I were straight, I would suppress talking about my dating life with her, because I would never ever talk about it with my parents . My private life is my private life, but also seeing random attribute about yourself, gifts to an awkward silence that follows regardless of what it is. I don’t know whether or not these things are socially acceptable we prefer to keep private.

I would not feel safe coming out to my mom, shes a devout muslim..The nation I happen to be born in still has homosexuality as something illegal, something you could go to jail for. It sucks, seeing how so many people are living their lives being their true selves and I have to hide and pretend around

Telling someone you attracted to the same gender is only hard because it’s like , if you had to go up to 1 or both of your parents, and say random fact about yourself. Your favorite color is purple your favorite food is chocolate cake, you listen to metal music or maybe humorously that you are attracted to the opposite gender.
It’s still “difficult” because it’s just an awkward thing to do. You get an awkward silence. And they’re like “..okayyyy?”

My maternal grandfather knew when I was three years old.
She is really not that bright. She was supposed to be so close to her son but couldn't see that he is gay? Even talking about how close he was with his "friend" and going on about how inseparable they were and she never wondered if her son was gay or bi? Either she is (1) blind, (2) deeply in denial, or (3) just down-right stupid. I'm thinking it's #3.

The "mum" is a bit dim. There was a story awhile ago where the son comes out to his mother. After he spends week getting up the courage and telling her, her response was a shrug and she said, "we know son, we've seen your walk".

As respectful that i am i just want to pont out one thing and that is i also study the lgbt plus q when i was in college and yes do i knew what its like for someone wanting to be gay as in any gay story line that any actor that may want to act out for the program of hollyoaks at least am happy for them to act out something like this right now
Nobody wants to be gay, we don't wake up one morning and say 'I want to be gay now'. We have no choice, it's who we are and we cannot change who we are attracted to. But I absolutely hate the fact that we have to 'come out', people should be allowed to be whoever they want to be, love whoever they want to and not be judged or bullied for it.
