Wanted a Serbu Super Shorty for years, but don't need one. A LGS had one in .410, 10 years ago, that would be fun to shoot. I bought two virgin 870 Police receivers just before the bankruptcy. Turned one into a "Tac-14 Police", probably the most expensive Tac-14. It's sort of a place holder, I already had a 870 SBS, an extra 14" barrel, and the raptor grip.
Shotguns not being drop safe is the governments fault. It has to do with the disconector. The old "slamfire" shotguns like the 1897, Ithaca 37 etc. were actually drop safe compared to the modern non-slamfire shotguns. Which I believe is the case because the ATF considers slamfire triggers to be "machine guns". I'm not an expert but that's my understanding as I have been told.
why not setup your shotguns in a cruiser configuration with a hammer down on an empty chamber? If you know of the dangers it seems like a no brainer, as you never know when a shotgun could be dropped or slide from where it is and falls over.
I also have a shockwave the 590s , did a recent experience review and what I would recommend is having your mossberg in cruiser ready . It’s the best and safest compromise for home defense . Nice pieces you got there 😎🫡
That FDE would looker cooler in classic wood as a double barrel coach gun.

training is key. PGO 12ga can be way more effective than most give them credit for.
