  • Men have a lot to say about what they really think about the #MeToo era - but many of them are afraid to say it. In the season premiere of “Dear Men,” host Jason Rosario explores how men feel about the movement and how it has changed the way they interact personally and professionally.

I'm not afraid of doing the wrong thing. I've been careful about my words and actions long before metoo. What I am afraid of is false accusations. That's why men now have to avoid even the appearance of impropriety or in a circumstance where you could be accused of wrongdoing, and not have an alibi. These days when it's he said/she said (and there's no evidence either way), she will win every time.

@@frankreynolds9284 men are far more likely to be accused of sexual misconduct in the workplace than women are. In the past 3 years since the metoo movement went viral, more men have had their own careers threatened over simple greetings, gestures, and even compliments that normally would have made women feel good about themselves. Do you remember when the wolf whistle was popular in society and it wasn't frowned upon? The wolf whistle used to be a man's way of telling women that they are incredibly attractive but now if a man was to throw a wolf whistle towards any woman, that woman can easily claim sexual harassment. Construction workers used to be very notorious for wolf whistling at women who came into eyesight of them.

If we say no, no means no don’t try to Persue us more and then when we really get assertive you call oh our names. If we are getting a little bit intimate and I decide to say hey I’m not feeling it right now can we stop, respect that. Don’t try to say well why the fuck you here then, just lay down you will enjoy it soon. We are telling you men to take accountability for what you guys do now. If I got $500 for every time a woman on social media has thrown false accusations at me, I’d be a millionaire. You say the me too movement doesn’t intend to harm men, but that’s all it does: it aspersions them, it claims that all men are rapists and it also claims that if a guy goes up to the girl to be nice and try to get to know her in a casual nice appropriate way, that means he’s a creep and a stalker; that’s what metoo# claims! If a guy waves hi to a girl, metoo# says that’s sexual harassment! If a guy sees a girl he thinks he’s attractive and wants to get to know her and takes the chance, metoo# suggests that the woman is to call the police!
Oh wait! I have a story to tell you:
Brad walks down the hall to class past a girl he knows, named Tenishia: “High Tenishia.”
      Tenishia: “Hi Brad.”
Brad: “Oh hey! Before you go, there’s something I’d like to ask you.”
Tenishia: “Ummm. Ok. What is it?”
Brad: “So I think you are cool, and I was wondering if you would be interested in getting a bit sometime?”
      Tenishia: “Uhhh. Are you serious?”
      Brad: “Yes of course.”
Tenishia: “Uhhh. That is like very creepy that you would be asking me that!”
Brad: “What? How is that creepy? I was just asking you out to go get a bite to eat sometime, like at Subway Eat Fresh or Zupas or something.”
Tenishia: “Just stop! You are really creeping me out!”
Brad: “Ummm. Ok? Not sure how but whatever. I was just asking you out. That’s not creepy. People ask each other out all the time.”
Tenishia: “No! If you do that that’s creepy! You can’t do that!”
Brad then senses that she’s probably just making crap up to just troll him, so he sarcastically says: “Cool!”
Tenishia: “Ha! Cool that you are creeping me out?!”
      Brad then sarcastically says: “Yeah!”
Tenishia then says: “I can get you arrested by the authorities for this!”
      Brad then says: “That’s cool.”
Tenishia: “You won’t be saying that once you get put behind bars.”
Brad: “Eh, you’re probably right. But we’ll just have to wait and see.”
      Brad then just walks off
Tenishia: “Hey where do you think you are going?”
      Brad doesn’t say anything.
Tenishia: “You are going to regret this, Brad!”
Brad knows that she is just being full of it, so he just ignores her, not caring what she says, knowing that what she is saying is not true. He leaves thinking that she’s crazy.
      ---------
How’d you like to be in Brad’s shoes? Lame right?
Look! I understand that a lot of women have been raped, sexually harassed in real ways, sexually abused, beaten, etc. by stupid sick gross trashy men out there, but that in no way gives women the right to treat all men like that is how they all are towards women! MeToo# encourages women to treat every man alive, even if he’s a good guy who has never harmed a woman in any way nor would he ever, as if he is a sex predator or dangerous freak! Hell, I’ve even had MeToo# fanatics tell me, “I believe every single man alive is a rapist and a porn addict, and it’s impossible for me to be convinced otherwise! I mean what the hell?!?! You’d have to be so far beyond what far beyond insane in order to be that insane!!! Women can’t talk like that about men! No, women don’t deserve abuse either, but good hell, not all men out there alive are tyrants!! Women who think all men are abusive and are who are going to abuse a woman the next time they walk up to a woman, need to pull their heads out of their asses, and go see a psychologist and a psychiatrist before they start talking batshit insane loony!!

See here is my problem with the whole metoo thing.
First in most cases their is almost no evidence to either support or deny her alligation. That's a problem that gets overlooked alot.
Second why is it that guys they find attractive can get away with doing these things, but men who are not attractive does any thing she finds offensive, including staring too long. Amongst other things
But yet normal men are crucified If she accuses him. Seems a little biased.
Lastly, what if she lied? Or her Alligation, is proven false.
There are no penalties for her.
So first there should burden of proof on her.
Second treat all men the same, no speacial treatment.
Lastly put consequences in place for those lie or falsely accuse.

Some of the jokes I don't like but that free speech gives me also the freedom to spread the gospel. The issue post #metoo and #feminism is the feminisation of men. I'm not talking about men showing feelings etc. But wanting men to act like women.

    8:42 *Strongly Disagree*
I think it's smart for a man to leave a door open and practice other forms of "workplace safety" out of consideration for himself and others. I think it's shifty to shame people taking perfectly legal precautions with no mal-intentions.
Some men don't know how to behave, or know how to behave in a certain culture in a certain city/state/province/territory/country and not others. We ought to be commending them for take the first step, having initiative, stepping up like they've been told to do.
_Let men get rid of workplace isolation while they learn how to act the way they want or the way they ought to behave_
*Even beyond that, I think men should continue the practice open doors if that's what makes them feel comfortable, because a woman's safety and comfort should be just as important. Privacy is important but people can whisper; that should be an option before forcing a woman (or man) into an enclosed space. A man who knows how to behave can still feel uncomfortable with any stranger for a multitude of reasons, or may feel susceptible to misbehaviour with a woman/person he's attracted to and/or likes. Some men are married and don't need the opportunity to test themselves, whether they're in s good place or a bad place in their marriage. Some men just want to guard themselves from making advances towards someone they like at work because of workplace rules or personal reasons.*
I spent too much time writing this... I respected all that he had to say up until that point I think. Sincerely taken back by that point of view -not the view but that it came from him. Your profession is to encourage growth and that sounded like the opposite. Don't shame people into taking risks with astronomical consequences. The single most dangerous place for an ordinary man is family court which isn't far from a workplace sexual harassment incident.

    8:42 Rebuttal (short-form)
He conflated leaving doors open and combating isolated environments with being a perpetrator.
Even with a door closed, a woman can leave so there is not connection with the 2nd statement he made and the articles. Closed doors aren't magical devices that entrap women.
_Women some places avoid wearing certain clothes to avoid harassment, extremely unfortunate._ *Men increasingly avoid closed spaces with women to avoid accidental or intentional foul play on either person's part, unfortunately.*
Neither should be shamed, rather, we should work to rectify the issue so all parties feel comfortable.
Edit: Immense respect for everything said up until that point

You cant say men think this or that. We are all different. No one is like me no one is exactly like you. Woman are doing great trying to fill the cracks in this country in regards to equal rights. Me 2 is great but gets out of hand. Many men have full respect for woman. And many woman make it hard for others to feel equal. No one side is to blame or praise we all are and have been working towards equal rights and feelings. I believe it is important that the me 2 does not forget most of us are standing next to you in your goals. Dont forget men once ran supreme but that has past because men changed those laws and ideas. Of course woman are a pushing force to help us make those changes but men and woman have done it and continue doing it. Dont get caught up in blaming all men or woman for any wrong doings we all are making this happen and came so far from our ancestors. Dont push away someone because of gender or race but there character. These guys are so wise and i do agree with there points. Many men have been tought to hide there feelings and just be a hard man. That is there right but also not how i would like it to be. Somtimes its hard to get to really know some men because they dont want to look weak and dont always connect emotionally except with there wife or family. We need to learn it is ok to express emotions that may be seen weak because it inspires other men to do the same.

We are fed up with being told it's our fault for everything and being blamed for women's problems that are their own fault. The f word for female empowerment (moderater might delete my comment if I say it) from the 2nd wave on has made it open season on men and it's all led up to this.
When I am a business owner and working as a personal trainer there is no way I will ever be alone with a female. There will always be a camera in every corner of the building to catch whatever activity I am doing with them. I will screenshot every email, text message, and appointment log with every female client that I have. If at all possible, I would like to avoid hiring on as many female coworkers as possible to avoid an accusation.
See what this movement has created is an even greater divide in the gap between men and women. It may be the final nail in the coffin in fact. What man in his right mind would interact with a woman when she can falsely accuse him YEARS later? No Thanks, I like my sanity. I might be lonely for life and not have kids, but it's much safer than having my entire world come crashing down in the blink of an eye.
      Hopefully that answered your question!

Maad Haaf oh shut up they are not doing that at all. But you know I’d be okay with it even if they were because it wouldn’t even begin to compare to the way or amount of times women have accused men of being abusing them. Damn liberals. Nothings ever good enough for y’all.

I am probably the first woman to say anything about this very sensitive, intuitive, honest, insightful and brave video of Dear Men.
The fact that you exist is such a positive thing for us women.
    I loved it.
It takes a real good man to be this honest and aware and open to ask some genuine questions within:
How can we men and women relate to each other in more respectful and dignified ways?
Ultimately that is the root of all questions asked.
    With that said, let me enlighten some of these men in this comment section of what #metoo truly entails;
Honest good women use it to make their voices heard, to make themselves and their spirits be seen. These women have mustered so much courage to tell their horrific stories of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape.
Their stories are heart wrenching, to say the least.
They are real, at least those that come from real honest, good women.
Yes, sadly, there will be some women who take advantage of this by lying and falsely accusing a man for sexual assault and rape.
However, believe me, more than often, most of these women's experiences are authentic. Raw. Real.
Think of the women in your lives:
Your mother, your aunties, your sisters, your girlfriends, your wives, your colleagues, your friends--
What if one of them were to experience the horror that many of the #metoo women had shared--
How would you respond to that?
A true good man would respond with nothing but deep compassion, as well empathy.
Being a woman surrounded by a predominately patriarchal and male chauvinistic attitude around the world is no piece of cake.
Have you any idea what it is like to navigate such a world being a woman? If you were a woman for even one day, trust me, you'd desperately desire to be a man, again.
Yes, that is exactly how challenging it is to be a woman: And this is on top of the rollercoaster experience of having to bear children in our wombs for 9 months!
Nevertheless, I am sorry I forgot your name, the wonderful man who hosts Dear Men:
I must say thank you, thank you, thank you for doing this insightful and refreshingly honest episode.
Believe me, you will find women, above all, truly appreciating this.
The more good feminist men we have in this world, the better.
    May you be blessed, evermore.
    In deep gratitude....🙏🙏

Crying is not an effective way to express and release emotion.
Y'all need to get over the, "it's okay to cry" thing.
Crying is an involuntary reaction that you can force to not start or force stop if you are emotionally stable.

I disagree. Tears can be a woman's strongest weapon. Too many of them know this. I knew one woman who could cry on demand. She stopped as soon as she got what she wanted, or when it became obvious to her that her tears were not working.

But if you get the feeling you want to cry surely it's a natural response? If you're at a spots game - your team scores- you get a huge rush of excitement and feel the urge to go "Yes!!!!" would you supress it? Probably not, because there's no risk that response will emasculate you. In my personal experience I've let myself cry and it hasn't lasted as long as i feared because as soon as I've experienced the emotion it's gone I've gotten through it (in the same way I got through the emotion at the spots game). I used to bottle up and ironically i would say my emotions were more in control of me when I bottled up. It's as if i thought expressing them would consume me. But that never happed. Now I'm able and comfortable in expressing myself I've noticed I'm actually much less bothered by the event that happed and have more control.
