Thanks for making this video and learning us about 18650 batteries. The first time i came across 18650 batteries was when i was vaping. I saw many 18650 batteries with flat button tops and batteries with button top some of my vape devices pushed the button top inside the battery which damaged the battery untill i could not charge them properly. So now i know there are two types of 18650 batteries. The last buttontop 18650 battery i purchased is the Ansmann 18650 with 3350 mAh for my XHDATA D808 radio. It came with a 2000 mAh XHDATA battery but i replaced it with a Ansmann 18650 mAh 3350mAh one so that i could listen to my radio longer without USB-C charging! Thanks for sharing Tenergy Official!

Should have included here when talking about capacity the scams, and clearly state any battery claiming to be more than 3500/3600mAh is a scam.
And a mention on the weight, high density batteries (3000-3600mAh) tend to weigh 45g up to about 48g.
Some of the batteries on Amazon and eBay state capacities of 9000mAH and 9999mAh - these are SCAMS.

The industry needs to GET RID OF THE “18650” battery COMPLETELY, and rename the different size, type and styles od the different 18650’s to NEW NAMES! It is DANGEROUS the way it is now, and really stupid. 95% of people have no idea what voltage, current and AH or MAH means, or what the discharge rate means, or worse, what the device they are using requires or calls for. In fact, as someone who’s fairly well educated on the subject, I too have a problem figuring out which type to use in many of my devices. Most products today, and there are LOTS of them, do not document what discharge rate they prefer i their devices, OR even what AH they require, if any. Sure, a simple flashlight doesn’t really care, BUT, it can be dangerous!! And worse, many vape devices are VERY sensitive to the differences. Many 18650’s say right on them “Not for use in vapes”, yet the specs are EXACTLY what the vape device calls for.
STOP MAKING 18650’s PLEASE! Split them into NEW model names properly as should have been done in the first place. Something like:
18651 = Plain rechargeable 18x65mm 2000 to 2500 mAh capacity with no control board, low discharge rate
18652 = above with addition of control board, 18x 67mm, high discharge rate
18653 = High capacity 18x65 2600 to 3600 mAh capacity with no board, low discharge rate
18654 = above with addition of control board, 18x67mm, high discharge rate
    ….

Then devices can simply specify the PROPER BATTERY to buy and install safely!! I love the 18650’s, great batteries, BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE STUPIDEST THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN IN THE ELECTRONICS INDUSTRY.

The factory batteries are garbage and don't last, but the fit is critical and everything I have ordered online is a hair too short to fit. Mfg used 4 or 8 or 12 AA batteries. Most 8. Has the trailcam industry NOT discovered the 18650?
It has been around for HOW LONG? I have a label maker which used 6 AAA. Today I bought a
2-18650 holder which I will wire to the battery terminals and run my label maker off 18650s.
Jeeeeeeeeeez... Get with the program already.

There's a million 18650 batteries on Amazon, and none tell you the max discharge current. Sigh

I am watching this vid so as to NOT get suckered into buying batteries with fake Ah ratings.
AMZ is just full of vendors offering 18650s with 9800Ah or 6600Ah and like that. I read
somewhere that the 18650 is physically not capable of making more than 3500Ah.

. That is true and when you see 18650 advertised with more than 3600mAh capacity, just don't buy. It's fake.

i know im just being a hater, but honestly I had flashbacks of having to watch a class full of 3rd graders read their book reports watching this. Buddy is reading this script like hes at the science fair.

    Tested 10 cells (18650) have a capacity between 1500 - 1700mAh out of the advertised 3500mAh. Underwhelming product claimed as being Original 18650 HG2 3500mAh - brown sleeved. _A v o i d: ->Sh op1103577373 Sto re
