Geronimo’s Cave
A prominent warrior of the Bedonkohe band of the Apache people, Geronimo clashed with and evaded Mexican and US troops many times throughout the course of the Apache Wars. During one such escape, Geronimo is believed to have entered a cave in the Robledo Mountains to elude US troops.
Though US soldiers waited outside of the entrance, he never resurfaced. He was later spotted outside of the cave, but a second entrance was never found. Today, this cave is referred to as Geronimo’s Cave. Today, visitors to the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument can visit Geronimo’s Cave via a 2.5-mile (4 km) trail.
I’ve been to this cave many times. As a kid living within hiking distance it was much more pristine. It makes me sad at the damage done by people leaving trash and smoke on the walls of the cave. Good video thank you for sharing.
Humans? Using a cave?! SMOKE?! HUMANS? In a cave?!?!?!
Stfu.
That’s like me getting upset the English came and took my country over. After I took it over. It happens. Deal w it. Sheesh.
Aloha let it be thank you for sharing
I've visited geronimo's cave twice back in the mid 80s. The cave only goes in about 50 ft or so. You have to crawl the whole distance. There were a few stalagmites in the cave and some were cut off by souvenir hunters. We went during the summer and we had to cross the Rio Grande River on inner tubes. If you go during the fall or winter after they cut off the water at the dams you can just walk across the Sandy bottom. Very interesting trip. It's about 10 miles north of Las Cruces on highway 28.
Back in 2006 there was a cave I neared to go in and explore, northeast of Roswell, there were so many Rattlesnakes it was unbelievable. I know there had to of been 2 or 3 hundred in there.
I just subscribed your channel you’re doing a great job thank you
What a magical place
In my opinion this video is just fine without music and narrative.
At 9:18 - that appears to be a dried-up waterfall. The whole area looks a great place to get yourself snake bitten!
Hello @Sky high drone photo
What drone and camera did you use for this video?
Great video thanks for posting.
Hello Kelly Brown. This was shot a few years ago with the original mavic pro. Thanks for watching.
How many caves are titled "Geronimos Cave?" I was at a cave back in 1979 in Arizona that was labeled "Geronimos Cave." It was near Weaver's Needle.
yep....there is a '"Geronimos Cave " here also on the Fort Apache Indian reservation. It is located approximately 6 to 7 miles east of the old Fort Apache or " Camp Apache " as it was called back in the late 1800s.
Did anyone see the sculpture of a head to the right of the?
Thank that was great I couldn’t hear no music but I still watch the whole thing thank you👍🙏😎

the cave opening does not seem natural to the rest
@@rodqueen2910 the whole thing looks incredibly artificial and so intentional like any kind of house or hut etc
That's awesome. I wonder how far it goes.
There are some videos on UA-cam that explore the inside. Thank you for watching.

I served under General miles we arrived around just before sunset for the respect of the medicine man I didn't enter. Army officer lieutenant Michael Kurz
yes, that's it, they respectfully came to tell him to get the hell out of his land
And so how old does that make you Michael Kurz? Over 125 years old?

Beautiful but what kind of drone you are using ?
This flight was a few years ago with the original Mavic Pro.
Thank you, what are you using now ? IAM living in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and would like to buy one ☝🏼
I'm using the Mavic 3 now for most flights and a Mavic 2 for 3D map projects. If you're just starting out a Mini 3 might be a good place to start.
Thanks 🙏 I will do that ! Building and starting small 🤩😂🤩

The structure appears to be man made at least it looks like motor was put into the cracks.
America history treated with no significance..... what a shame.
