I love that you have your son in your video. You should include him more often. I spent many a hour with my dad learning the gunsmithing trade so it warms my heart seeing a boy and his dad bonding. Live your channel love learning from you. Keep doing what your doing. Your one of my favorites
I'm a do it your selfer and i have built many things, houses , pool, hotrods furniture ect. I can tell you I admire you and your family. Your such a skilled craftsman in every thing you do Your are a good man and a great father and husband. Your channel is one of my favorites and i always look forward to the next video.
It warms my heart to see you and your son working side by side. It is such a Blessing, it reminds me of my son and I in my garage. He is now 17.... and I miss the younger days. Thanks for sharing brother!
hello! I've been watching your videos for a year or two now and thought I'd let you know your videos are great I can't get enough of them! listening to you talk about wood projects or telling stories that reflect the situation is enjoyable so amazing videos and hello from a young man who has learned a lot from you and looks up to you.
Another solid, well done, build. I hope today's manufacturers can learn from your videos. The quality lasts longer, serves better, and allows us to invest more into making a better tomorrow.
14" looks really perfect to the eye! Great job! Though this is an older vid, I'd want to say that I love this kind of customizing, repurposing video's and I'd love to see more old tools getting the respect of refurbishing and bringing them back to life! It's almost art!
I've gained a wealth of knowledge from this channel. Furthermore, the Wranglerstar clan portrays these skills in a way where I also have the wisdom to apply the valuable lessons learned. If I could only have on channel on youtube, without a shadow of a doubt, I'd choose this one. Mr. Cody, you're the awesome Uncle that we never had. Thank You Wranglerstar Family.
You're a cruel man! Here I am, wallowing in expense and excitement to see the finished product. And you make me wait for part 3. I won't sleep a wink! Obviously I'm kidding. I'm very grateful for your videos and all you do. Love this project, and I'll wait patiently for part 3. God bless you. -Josh
this reminds me of watching My Great-Uncles at work in there work sheds , measuring, rechecking , Joking and teasing....what a wonderful video..Cheers. Thank you for reawakening great memories. ;-)
I'm so excited for my son to be working along side me like yours. I enjoy every precious moment of his young life and I know I'll have plenty of skills to pass down for having watched your videos. Thanks so much for what you do, don't listen to those nay sayers. I say aye, you're a wise man. - James & Cohen
My favorite the sound of the remaining cut off existing handle as you drove it out of the axe head with the dowel. So fine lines for ban saw cuts, sweet details, a real delight to see, also made me happy to see Jack in the shop with you; you can see how he loves and admires you, he's a chip off the ole block. Great video. . . blessings, Dave: still praying for your child adoption they will be blessed to have a dad like you braugh & a mom like your beloved Misses W/S
I have grown to enjoy watching (and learning from) your videos. You're teaching the viewers a bunch, but my favorite parts are when you and your son (I think?) something. In this video, I really like seeing the concentration you both give to the tasks at hand. If you were to measure how far that particular apple fell from your branches I imagine there's be little to no daylight between the two of you. Thanks for sharing. Mike
You know, a lot of the time when I feel overwhelmed, and just want to be reminded of the simple goodness of what it is to be a human being, I watch you or your sister's videos, and it helps to remind me that we make the world around us better, if we're doing our job, day by day. Just tends to help with the burn out. Thanks.
On the first video you said words to the effect of - If you were gonna make it, it needed to be perfect - and the you showed the grain orientation of the wood you chose and then said something like - this is good, this "acceptable" - I'm so happy you changed your mind and went with perfect! still it is Wranglerstar i'm watching, I guess I shouldn't have expected anything less from you, I hope Dave is happy, I know I would be. Nice work Cody. looking forward to part 3. Thanks.
This video is like ecstatic. Such careful and masterful work. Whatever you might say about Wranglerstar but this man knows how to do work, especially on axes.
I saw the second part of this video first, but chose to comment on this one. I'm backward's like that. Anyway, I have watched many of your videos and I have to say they are pretty much all great videos. But,...after seeing this one, I have to say that you my friend are a class act. Your attention to detail and dedication to excellence is top of the line.
By far one of the best channels on youtube your attention to detail and the quality of your work everything has to be spot on no short cuts from what i have seen nothing compares
Love Dave Canterbury!! Came across you and him around the same time and have learned so much stuff not only bush craft but knowledge to use in the woods. Really cool seeing you do this project and to see two of my favorite people to watch on UA-cam do something together Thanks Quin
A professional as always. I could tell you didn't initially like something when you were hanging the axe the first time by the look on your face. Instead of going forward without correcting/adjusting, you went back a step and corrected the issue. I'm glad you showed that. Honestly, people need to be taught more to do it right even if it means taking a step or 2 back to do it the right way.
Going to restore a small Colins hatchet once I come across some hickory and am back to my shop. Enjoy the axe videos gives me motivation and knowledge on how to do it right!
Dear Cody, I am allways amazed by the skills and patience you have , you definitly have some great gifts!!! I,m very glad that i subscribed your channel . I tell you it changed my live in a good way! I, m Dutch, and look forward to every vid you upload!! all the best to you!! Jack.
It is great to see the craftsmanship you put in all your projects. What is better is to know the story about who's ax this is. I hope Dave enjoys this as much as I have enjoyed it being made for him.
I love watching your videos! The word "meticulous" always comes to my mind as you perform your craft. If you ever sell any of your works of art please let us fans know!
This is awesome!!! My brother just found a Norlund "Trailblaizer" double bit axe head in our grandparents basement, it seems to be about the size and profile of your cruiser axe. He's in the process of hanging it now, it's funny that just as I started trying to do research on it, your video came up and told me everything I needed to know about it. Thanks.
Hey wranglestar really enjoyed been watching your videos for while just thought I take this chance to say thanks for your videos I enjoy watching here in the uk thanks again
I recently found an old ax head at work, in one of the companies jobsite trailers and asked if I could have it and my foreman said yes. Only because it didn't have a handle...I'm gonna use this video as my instruction manual, to make my own handle for it. Thank You for posting this Video. :)
I started watching your videos when you were more of the equipment repair and or carpentry work, I always loved your attention to detail. ...that said I still very much respect the work that your do and how you do it. =) great video!
Absolutely beautiful handle! You've developed your talent well. A true craftsman at work. It pleasures me to see the results of your labors. I'm sure Dave will be grateful every time he uses the axe. Thank your for sharing this with us. : )
That was the most adult themed humor I have ever heard Cody have. LOL. "you know what they say about guys with large hands...They wear large gloves" roflcopter
Beautiful draw saw.....Hand crafted with care...Nothing better. I would hate to have to replace that handle. Nice, Cody. I would be proud to own anything you have made.
Just a couple thoughts from a woodworker. You might want to try a spokeshave to shape the handle, its much more enjoyable to work with than a rasp and nearly eliminates sanding. If your dealing with lumber with any moisture in it or in a damp climate it may be smart to dry the end of the handle before setting it. Some chairmakers will dry their spindles by a stove prior to fitting and wedging to ensure there won't be shrinkage in the future. Love the channel keep up the good work.
Another great video WS. It's great when two channels I have subscribed to for years team up! Just plain awesome. All the best and keep up the good work! -S
Great! You make it look so easy, just the skill. Looking forward to part 3, and would be cool if dave and you were able to meet and make a video together.
Another great video! I would love to see how you make your wedges and how you sharpen your draw knife. I recently sharpened mine and it's pretty sharp but it was one of the hardest things I've ever sharpened.
I found this link called yesteryearstools, and they had a link to Norlund products and had the dimensions for the handles. You were right in going with the longer handle, the original Saddle Cruiser had a 18 1/2" handle on it.
A little tip that I learned from my grandfather is when i stow my draw knife I first wrap it in a oil damped rag not wet with oil but barely damp keeps all of the rust off of it and it should not spoil the leather pouch you keep it in
I love that you have your son in your video. You should include him more often. I spent many a hour with my dad learning the gunsmithing trade so it warms my heart seeing a boy and his dad bonding. Live your channel love learning from you. Keep doing what your doing. Your one of my favorites
After a not so good day at work... it's nice to come home and enjoy some wranglerstar at his best! Thank you!

Wow. The fit shows your patience and work ethic. America could learn a lot from this video series.

While you were rasping the handle, in the far shot, I got the distinct impression you were dancing with the wood. That was cool. Thanks!
I'm so excited for my son to be working along side me like yours. I enjoy every precious moment of his young life and I know I'll have plenty of skills to pass down for having watched your videos. Thanks so much for what you do, don't listen to those nay sayers. I say aye, you're a wise man.

I feel happy just watching the detail you're putting in to this axe and happier still thinking about how Dave is going to put it to good use.

Dave gonna be very happy.
Love the pride in work and pride in doing the best you possibly can. RARE Indeed
I always love to see these axe handle videos. Can't get enough of them!
It's a real pleasure watching you work, keeping your goal on creating something the best it can possibly be.
I am still amazed at the video quality from the new phone, much clearer and smoother than your other camcorders.
Who knew watching someone else work could be so satisfying.
Amazing work. Blessed are those that give. Thank you for your gift.
You did such a perfect job, you are a true craftsman
I love watching your videos! The word "meticulous" always comes to my mind as you perform your craft. If you ever sell any of your works of art please let us fans know!
Dadgum, Cody! You really got a great fit on that wedge. Good project, and I bet ole Canterbury is really happy with his small axe.
You inspire me to be more hands on and a do it myself person when it comes to my home! Love the videos

I love quality tools. Especially vintage tools. Thank you for another great video.
This has been an absolute pleasure to watch. You sir are a true craftsman.
It's coming along nicely, looking forward to part three!

Good job as usual, Cody. I like what you are doing with the promo at the end. I've seen every vid you've made and I always agree with your choices.
Absolutely beautiful handle! You've developed your talent well. A true craftsman at work. It pleasures me to see the results of your labors. I'm sure Dave will be grateful every time he uses the axe. Thank your for sharing this with us. : )
You are a good man and you know how to teach.Thank you.
Great to see Jack working next to you...learning and applying it.
Man that axe is turning out great! I am glad you decided to pick a median length.
Doing things to your best ability as you would do for yourself. There is a lesson for us all. Nice work.
Nice work. Attention to detail and hand tools inspiring.
Can't wait to see the finished product. Great job as usual Sir.
I really liked this video man, great shots and music choice. Attention to detail is a beautiful thing.
YOU AND DAVE ROCK... GOT ME BACK INTO THE GREAT OUTDOORS, LUV IT
That was the most adult themed humor I have ever heard Cody have. LOL.
"you know what they say about guys with large hands...They wear large gloves" roflcopter
Okay you got me with the part three... I was do ready to see it finished... maybe tomorrow. Very nice work
A fine job on that handle and hanging the head sir!! Nice handy work indeed!!
a joy to watch a master woodworker .
Beautiful draw saw.....Hand crafted with care...Nothing better. I would hate to have to replace that handle. Nice, Cody. I would be proud to own anything you have made.
Thank you. I always learn something new watching your videos
I *love* that axe. The handle length looks better than I thought it would; I'm glad you didn't go the whole 16 inches.
Just a couple thoughts from a woodworker. You might want to try a spokeshave to shape the handle, its much more enjoyable to work with than a rasp and nearly eliminates sanding. jw golding I agree with you I just picked up a spokeshave and started using on a large latel im making and its a dream much better than rasps
I seen he got a spokeshave in a later video and I think he did because of your comment. Good advice.
I will be watching to see if Dave Canterbury does a video response when he received the axe back.
That handle is beautiful. What a work of art.
Another great video WS. It's great when two channels I have subscribed to for years team up! Just plain awesome.
All the best and keep up the good work!
-S
great video, i love how you have your son working in the shop as well.
Always love everything you produce, thank you.
ARTISTRY!! YOU AND YOUR VIDS ARE BEYOND AWESOME!!
THANK YOU
Been a subscriber since before you even made 100k. Enjoyed this vid so much....thank you.
Great! You make it look so easy, just the skill. Looking forward to part 3, and would be cool if dave and you were able to meet and make a video together.
As always great work,I love the videos you do. They make me a better person.
I like the tunes. Reminds me of your older videos. Keep it up.
That handle is a work of art
Another great video! I would love to see how you make your wedges and how you sharpen your draw knife. I recently sharpened mine and it's pretty sharp but it was one of the hardest things I've ever sharpened.
Dave should be happy with the 14 inch handle seems looks like a good fit great video

Wow you are a very talented craftsmen, great job bud
Really love this video, been watching all of your videos, you are very good at what you do, thank you
Never been much of a belt axe guy, but that looks like it turned out really nice. Be perfect to slide on the side of a pack
The handle looks beautiful to this point
Camarada Wranglerstar! Super legal o vídeo! Tive bons momentos apreciando o amor que você coloca no seu ofício.
Nice work came out really really good. has the same bench vice in the shop oldie but goodie..
A little tip that I learned from my grandfather is when i stow my draw knife I first wrap it in a oil damped rag not wet with oil but barely damp keeps all of the rust off of it and it should not spoil the leather pouch you keep it in
It just keeps getting better!
Awesome vid, looking forward to the finish!
I strive to obtain real world skills like this. Nice work as always
Nice work , nice family , nice bloke , love your vids , thanks for your awesome work .
grantoyamaha Thank you Grant
Could not say it better mate.
sam n thanks mate
😂 4444
Really enjoy your videos. I have learned a lot from them.
Awesome handle! While it is a labor of love in most respects it will work so well and last long time! Love the process! Great info! Thanks!
Chris
Very neat to watch someone take the time to do a job right!!!!!
Nice work mate, try using a farriers rasp for the shaping, is so much easier and you get better strokes with it.
oh and thanks for making these video I really like how u r not afraid to show that u r a Christian the world needs more people like u thanks
now that I just figured out that u r SDA I'm sad
Have you ever though of making a shave horse Cody? It would make that draw knife and rasp work so much easier!
Your a great craftsman Cody!
Fantastic work as always Cody
I like that extra length. I once had a trim hammer that I put an extra long axe handle, it was really comfortable. At least 14 may be 16"
