The more I get into the series as I watch the more like it. The plots, the schemming, backstabing and using other people to get what they want it. Don't know who to root for since all the character are good and are flawed and have grey areas. Using the blind girl and her love/admiration for the dragon and stories as pawn to deliver the information to the oposite side was nicely done and quite dastardly i might add.
It reminds me of the old fantasy novels that I used to read from David Eddings' Belgariad series. At this point, it is still difficult to say which side you want to take, Auretia or Lithia or the individual characters like the sensei who is trying to hide Kia from both factions. One thing I definitely know is that I do not want to see Kia hurt in anyway. She is too innocent for all the shit that is going to hit the fan. So, reluctantly I want sensei's plan to succeed, as long as it keeps Kia safe, even if it means sensei has to kill people.
You're most likely right about this show trying to get me to read the source material. I'm watching this thinking, "wait, why aren't there more than 12 episodes?" It's a story that's getting better and better as the episodes go on.
To be honest, I absolutely love watching each episode of Ishura, it is only getting better! Each character of the main cast is interesting in its own way 😌 But if I have to choose Soujirou & Yuno as well Kuze & Nihilo are my favourites ones! Can't wait to see how this political plot line and the tournament will turn out 👀
This is not my favorite show of the season, but is the only one I wanna watch the moment it airs. All this big scale political intrigue in a fantasy world of pure OP beigns feels so natural and refreshing. And I'm emotionally investen in Lithia's side, specially with Regnejee
With all these plots and Tourament I am kind expecting that the demond lord fake his death so he can gather all the powerfull people in one spot so he can try to take them out in surprise twist and then no one would be left to opose the demon lord.
Looks like the introductions are over. By the end of episode 6, I was finally like "Damn. It's over? No!". When I say that during a season of a new anime, that means I'm in it for the long-run.
4:42 Lana works for Taren, but now we also found out she is actually a spy for Auretia. So, the Bandit is Taren's anti-espionage agent, and he exposed Lana's cover. You know what happens to spies, Lana is as good as dead. But Sensei could not risk Lana exposing her because she does not want to be linked back to Kia, since Lana already met Kia. So, Sensei is in a tight spot. She needs to eliminate Lana before the Bandit and Taren is able to interrogate her.
i love how there still isnt a main character, usually you can say obviously this character will win becuase of plot, but so far this makes it completely unpredictale and i love it
Really like the anime and while not being my favourite one it's definelty my hidden gem. But I think the adaptation came to early, I haven't read the light novel or manga but it feels like there is not an actual western community. Usually when I start watching an anime after the first or second episode I look up their individual fandom wiki and subreddit as this usually shows how large and loyal the fanbase is. In case of Ishura around 100 people are in the sub and the wiki seems poorly managed and lacking in many places, which is a sign to me that people either haven't found out about it or alot of people dropped it. I also think that the format is not made for an anime in current times, with currently 7 episodes I believe 8 Shuras/fighters were shown but according to the intro there will be 20 more. If the tournament starts when all characters were introduced, we will need roughly 17,5 episodes for the entire cast. Which means the first 25 episodes of Ishura would be solely to introduce the participants, but modern watchers want and need action and probably prefer a Record of Ragnarok style where the characters get introduced within the fight.
When i look at Ishura's MAL you can see how stacked the show is with all the top VA's and things like that. To me it feels like they were aiming to get a hit show like OPM or No game no life. The show is great but I think they are tad bit of the mark. With that said I do look forward to seeing how it concludes!
So Im freaking Loving This show alot. My only issue with This show is that using The narrator To intro each of these characters feels a bit uneccessary. The sheer volume of characters as well Can sometimes be dizzying but ive adjusted so far. The things i like about The show is The geo political Mixed with fantasy element that they are doing really well and The complexity of some of The characters. Rengejee, Alus, Kia and Kuze have tons of potential as characters moving foward. Im sure The others Will be fun To watch And learn more about as well. I literally cannot wait for The next episode .
It's not about the studio, it's the production committee that funds things. Tsukimichi season 2 got funded for a season 2 they hired a different studio to do so. The studio is just hired they rarely have any involvment in the business side

The anime with the Mortal Kombat route is actually Meiji Gekken. Ishura is not jumping into the tournament right away.

The war comes first, since Taren is a self-proclaimed Demon King. What is the use of having the tournament when a Demon King is alive.
