aaaa this is so good, and encapsulate's noelle's grief so well!!!!!!!!
one detail i loved (and the broke my heart) is that throughout the first half of the pmv, noelle is portrayed as so much shorter, so much younger than dess... but then after dess goes missing, and noelle gets older..... at 1:52, dess's outline is the same height as her. shorter, even. so much time has passed, noelle is now as old as or older than dess when she disappeared. noelle's grown older, but her idea of dess has stayed stagnant, frozen in time....
also at 1:16 when dess opened the door.... i knew she wasn't coming back 😭
also, i love the use of color!!!!! the happy moments with dess in the beginning are full colored...... but at the shot of dess fighting with her mom, the color goes away, leaving only outlines.... and this stays, the background getting darker after dess disappears. but the color returns at the sight of noelle talking with kris in the dark world, stays through her hanging out with susie, her dad, berdley... the color returning to her life with the help of her friends (also an ominous shot of mayor holiday. we love those)
also that message in wingdings.... nice.
