    • @naumankhawaja
      @naumankhawaja 5 років тому +2

      Because it's far more difficult to control than backhand chop. Also the amount of backspin is lesser than backhand chop.

    • @Meurth
      @Meurth 5 років тому +7

      @@naumankhawaja It's mainly because he uses a faster inverted rubber on his forehand so he can do counterloops and forehand topspins if he wants to. Chopping is much harder to do with inverted rubber because it's much more sensitive to spin.

    What an excellent player but eh amount of energy expended in every one of his volleys is immense. It comes down to the frustration of his opponent because they are getting bored.

    • @dubsbarry9963
      @dubsbarry9963 2 роки тому

      I hear you. But to be fair, consistency in returns and waiting for your opponent to make unforced errors is a good tactic in TT. As are changes in rhythm.
      I love playing Chopper from time to time but you're right, the energy and stamina required would probably lead to a shorter career.
      Which is why i think the Waldner- style block strategy is the key to career longevity.
      If there was a better blade/rubber combo that allowed for good defense and faster slams and loops it could make Filus' points a little shorter

  • @dubsbarry9963
    @dubsbarry9963 2 роки тому +1

    Filus has some beautiful ball flight with his chops. Very creative with them too. It's unfortunate his blade/rubber combo isn't faster on loops and slams. Is that the sacrifice a good defensive setup has to make? Or are there hybrid combos that would achieve better results?
