t's been a while since I posted this video, but if you're recently stumbling into it because you're looking for products, take a look at my Empties database with all my reviews! docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NcvH5-YUD3wtJFhhSqANYtx_9CbXeIiUZJv_4wToQZ0/edit?usp=sharing
Between those steps, you shouldn't wipe or dry your face but just continue doing all the steps and then pat dry when you're done with toner. That's what Koreans recommend. :)
To all looking into trying the 10 step Korean skincare process, know that it's a guide. A guide! Rachel iterates that it shouldn't be done everyday and it's true. Taking it from my experience, it actually becomes overkill, after doing it both day and night! That's why this Western/Non-Korean skincare guide is a great example of doing the steps to pamper yourself once in a while. I would recommend checking out Liah Yooh's channel, she explains in-depth skincare processes, the right products to use and just the reality of the skincare industry!!! Search her up about the reality of the 10 step Korean skincare, and why it's not always useful!
+UrAverageGamer most of it yes, but the exfoliation and masks are only supposed to be used like 1-3 times a week, depending on your skin type. I THINK THIS IS HOW IT IS DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT
Hi Rachel!! It's really cool the way you use the markers and also the way you show us the products!! Nice skin care review!! Thank you for sharing with us!!
the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is actually also water-based! It's the first ingredient! Love this video, I've been on the asian skincare regimen for 2 years and it's nice to have some western backups!
+Ana Fernandez Yes so true! I guess I meant the first step would be to use something that's emulsifying than always "oil based". The milky jelly one totally melts off all makeup! Thank you!!!
I love this! I do the 10 step skincare as well, but couldn't get all the korean products so I added Western market products as well. Also, great to know that I can use other forms of masks, because I felt bad using a sheet mask everyday and throwing away so much plastic packaging. Great video! Thanks!
For american/european products, they have something close to korean's essences. origins now has its own "essence" called Original Skin™ Essence Lotion with Dual Ferment Complex or Khiel's Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence i've been using both and they're available in sephora.
I've noticed you have a bunch of indoor plants, it'd be super rad to see a video with the different types/how to take care of them etc :-) love your videos
+Natalie C Haha, I would go to Chriiissstttine for that. I have no knowledge to articulate about plants other than to water them when the soil feels dry and send them happy thoughts to survive unintentional negligence.
Loving your videos so so much !! I really wish I would have a friend like you because you seem like such an awesome person to be around and I just love your aesthetics !! :)
Everyone please remember that it's also recommended to massage in your moisturizers and such in an upwards motion! It's believed that massaging in downwards motions increases the pull of gravity on your skin and may still speed up the process of wrinkles!
Since you're going to New York, could you do an ' airplane essentials ' video? xx btw I love both versions of this 10-step skincare series. Definitely trying them out!
Instead of getting an oil cleanser I actually just use baby oil with alovera extract in it, works just as well and in fact I find it add a bit of hydration to my skin even after the foam cleaner is used. I only use it though when I have been wearing makeup that day.
As a French; I used first a micellar water (like bioderma or Avene), then a cleanser. The result has been amazing but I guess it's link to my western skin (less dry/more oily). I'm praised by my Chinese colleague (I work there) so I guess its also work. :P
While essences can offer many great all purpose benefits, I think their main purpose is to help prep the skin for the next layers. Using a toner and then an essence with the patting motion really helps prep and open the skin for products. Serums are typically more concentrated and address very specific purposes (like brightening or anti-aging). Think of it as the difference between a multi-vitamin and a vitamin C tablet. They're both good for you and they're both vitamins, but one is a little more concentrated. :) Hope that helps!
Do you prefer the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser or the Banila Co.Clean it Zero Cleanser? I've been trying to decide between the two, and I'd love your opinion! (:
+Theresa Vu They're both really good! I maybe like the milky jelly one more because it's in a pump and I can double cleanse with that if I needed to :) whereas the Banila is reallly good, but it's definitely a solely a step one.
Your videos are so educational I immediately grabbed notebook and started writing down things :D I have a problem though...the more steps I include in my skincare - my terribly sensitive face gets more irritated. Is it just a matter of right products?
+Dania Yes I think right products as they should be more mild and less, chemically. This 10 step is more like a daily 8 step, which isn't much more than what you're probably doing now. Extra cleansing adding a toner thing.
I use pore refiner from Baiodorma twice a day after toning, I only put it in the areas where I have pores. It's super amazing, I've been using it for couple months and my pores gets smaller. I've started using it when I was 19 I just turned 20 so I think it's better to use it if you're 16 or above.
LOVE Glossier products! I keep ordering more and more! Can't seem to get my hands on the Boy brow though! UGH! Anyways love this video! I mix it up sometimes with my skincare products..mostly all of them are Korean now though! Seems to be working best for my skin!
+Tiffany deLeon I LOVE THEIR STUFF. Their team told me they're getting a huge replenishment next month on bow brow - so hold on till then. I just got mine in black and am sooo in love.
If you suffer from oily skin, is it safe to use Oil cleansers or oils to remove make up? I have quite severe combination skin of a very very oily t-zone and dry patches on the rest of my face
hi.. just wondering, have u ever tried 1 week mask sheet challenge? i saw it from someone's vlog,, she has tried mask sheet for the whole week and her skin changed soooo georgous! thanks
Depends on the mask! If it's a moisturizing one or collagen, whatever, I go about the routine. If it's a clay, I rinse off. Depends on the instruction of your mask
Here's my "9" step Korean skincare routine -Cleansing gel (From drugstore) -Foaming cleanser -Exfoiliater or face scrub (3x a week) -Toner -Sheet mask (3x a week) -Serum (From drugstore) -Essence (the excess liquid from my sheet masks) -Moisterizer -Sleeping mask (3x a week) or drying pimple lotion/ For morning SPF Don't use eye cream I'm 12
annael lol yes. You do 10 ish steps twice a day. In the morning, of course, you don't need to double cleanse (assuming you dont sleep in makeup) but you do add SPF as the last step. In the evening you do double cleanse if you wear makeup and leave out the SPF and just end with moisturizer.
I'm not sure if maybe the witch hazel was trying to purge all of the dirt from under my skin but when I used it for about a month to a month and a half my skin went through such a rough patch! I was breaking out everywhere! Could it maybe have been because I wasn't using a more gentle witch hazel toner?
Anything that is an astringent will strip your skin of moisture. What koreans call toners are different from the western toners. They mean alcohol free hydrating toner.
I'm still a teen and my mom says that I shouldn't use much products on my face, so should I follow this 10 steps skin care routine or just keep my skin care routine as minimal as possible?
diya mellycka here's the thing: The 10 step Korean skincare is a guide. Don't do this everyday. If you are going to do each step, do it on a weekend to pamper yourself. Also, if you mean that you need these specific products, get one that is truly targeted for your skin type and concern. They are necessary, but not all at the same time. I suggest that you minimize and take the really important stuff for Daytime, such as a moisturizer and sunscreen. It's at nighttime that you layer the serum after cleansing the face. Finally, just know that this is for taking care of your skin! Hope this helps.
Did you not hear me say that in the video?? No need to get up in arms haha. I said they re a Korean brand but have more international appeal so they're in here. The other Korean products you can't find here in the states

Thank you for including us!
Now I'm interested in the one ingredient thing video. Please do it Rachel.
Between those steps, you shouldn't wipe or dry your face but just continue doing all the steps and then pat dry when you're done with toner. That's what Koreans recommend. :)
+Usacchanbebe Sweet tip! Thank you :)
It would be cool if you did a cheaper alternative for the 10 steps.
Agree +Rachel Nguyen
To all looking into trying the 10 step Korean skincare process, know that it's a guide. A guide!
Rachel iterates that it shouldn't be done everyday and it's true.

Love the way you used the markers! I learned some stuff too. :)
PLEASE DO THE ONE-ITEM VIDEO! :)
+Phylis Oleg YES MA'AM
Rachel Nguyen are you supposed to do this 10 step cleanse every day? Is that what this is meant for?
+UrAverageGamer most of it yes, but the exfoliation and masks are only supposed to be used like 1-3 times a week, depending on your skin type. I THINK THIS IS HOW IT IS DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT
Altynai Amangeldy yup you got it
Hi Rachel!! It's really cool the way you use the markers and also the way you show us the products!! Nice skin care review!! Thank you for sharing with us!!

she writes on glass with paint marker (probably)
Whatever ..but it makes the video more interesting...
I loved this , I might try some of the products , I want Korean flawless skin
the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser is actually also water-based! It's the first ingredient! Love this video, I've been on the asian skincare regimen for 2 years and it's nice to have some western backups!

I'm so excited to do these 10 steps I actually have a paper mask on. love the videos!!
Awww yisss... Glossier MJC is the best thing known to man.
For american/european products, they have something close to korean's essences. origins now has its own "essence" called Original Skin™ Essence Lotion with Dual Ferment Complex or Khiel's Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence
i've been using both and they're available in sephora.
Wow all this consistency with the videos I like it!
+HiForLovex3 Trying really hard! :)
Loved seeing this routine after the Korean one! Will definitely be happy to mix both my American and Korean products to get to 10 steps!
Thank you for taking time sharing this! Hope I can create a video as great as this! Hope you have a wonderful day! Keep it coming! I'm a fan!
So the qstn is !!! Which is the best skin care product ? Korean .. or American??!
Learned so much about skin care from these videos. Thanks for all the tips
Dr. Jart is actually Korean!
Ikr
she actually mentioned she knew it was a Korean brand but she still insisted on using it no biggie gurl
+Aira Khairizin I made the mistake of making the comment before she mentioned it was Korean. I love Kbeauty stuff and got excited. ㅋㅋㅋ
urbanwit me too! Lol
Hana Fernandes Mine? Thank you so much!
I've noticed you have a bunch of indoor plants, it'd be super rad to see a video with the different types/how to take care of them etc :-) love your videos

In love with all the content that you've been uploading as of late
Loving your videos so so much !! I really wish I would have a friend like you because you seem like such an awesome person to be around and I just love your aesthetics !! :)
I used humphry's witch hazel and recently switched to thayers. So much better! Does not have alcohol...plus the rose is amazing!! Hydrating too.
+moi Going to try that Murad SPF...it looks awesome!
+moi Yah I think I'd like the Thayers one more - will switch over when I'm done with Humphry's. Thanks!
Rachel Nguyen Thanks for your vids! They are all great!
Everyone please remember that it's also recommended to massage in your moisturizers and such in an upwards motion! It's believed that massaging in downwards motions increases the pull of gravity on your skin and may still speed up the process of wrinkles!

+xopikaboo Maybe! Hahaha I feel like I've been shoving products down everyone's throat. Off the bat, I can say CLEAR MASKS. Like the NUDE one :)
Reminiscing on this video - we loved it so much! Hope you are well! XO, Kate Social
love this skincare review. And your skin is so perfect!
oooo this is an interesting concept, thanks for sharing! :)))
Rachel, can you do the video on really good one-ingredient items... like witch hazel? Love your videos!
Love this alternative to the Korean routine
my skin is very sensitive and this regimen with 10 steps and zillion products will break my skin and wallet.
Sitting in my room waiting for the Q&A, no pressure though Rach haha
+Sahandra Rivera Oh yahhhhh forgot about that. Okay!
you look stunninggg Rachel
Hello, i have some questions.
1. Do you wash your face after step 3?
2. Do you do all these steps morning and night?
Yay! Been waiting for this!
Instead of getting an oil cleanser I actually just use baby oil with alovera extract in it, works just as well and in fact I find it add a bit of hydration to my skin even after the foam cleaner is used. I only use it though when I have been wearing makeup that day.
awesome skin care routine video! it feels more personal :) need your creative juices
As a French; I used first a micellar water (like bioderma or Avene), then a cleanser. The result has been amazing but I guess it's link to my western skin (less dry/more oily). I'm praised by my Chinese colleague (I work there) so I guess its also work. :P
can you do a Q&A?? you are such an inspiration and i want to know what are the courses you chose in uni/college to get to where you are today :D
+minh anh nguyen Yes! Soon! Make sure you follow me on Twitter because I would announce it there.
please do a video on great one-ingredient products!!! and thank you for doing this video it is so helpful :) xxx
+Megan lg. Yes! Absolutely down the line :)
I honestly still don't know the essential difference between serums and essences 😅😅
BananaHammock Oh gosh. Me tooooo
While essences can offer many great all purpose benefits, I think their main purpose is to help prep the skin for the next layers. They're both good for you and they're both vitamins, but one is a little more concentrated. :) Hope that helps!
Hello! Love your vid💗Do you really have to apply some kind of mask daily?
+Kelly Valle No! Every week :)
I love witch hazel as a toner too! I add niacinamide powder to mine.

So brilliant! Thank you.
Do you follow this routine everyday? Do you cut certain products out on certain days?
where did u get those pens from there awesome- are they like whitboard markers- do they rub off?
LOVE Glossier products! I keep ordering more and more! Can't seem to get my hands on the Boy brow though! UGH! Anyways love this video! I mix it up sometimes with my skincare products..mostly all of them are Korean now though! Seems to be working best for my skin!

First timer on your channel and I am in love with your videos! AAAAHHH!!
+Kymunchie Look up dry brushing for body then I use oils sometimes
Do you do this in the morning and night ?! Or just the morning or just the night ?! If you do it in the morning what do you do at night?!
Is it okay 4 thé skin to combine all these brands? I struggle what to by and od it's ok to mix different brands
Unfortunately Glossier does not ship to Europe/Italy :( is there any alternative to the Milky Jelly Cleanser?
+Myucch Try the Nude jelly cleanser
If you suffer from oily skin, is it safe to use Oil cleansers or oils to remove make up? I have quite severe combination skin of a very very oily t-zone and dry patches on the rest of my face
Yes! Actually oil is really good to combat oils. I even moisturize with oils half the week and it helps with the oil on my skin
Awesome! Thank you, I had no idea!
where did you/she get that pink writing utensil that you write on glass? also what is it called? thank you~
hi.. just wondering, have u ever tried 1 week mask sheet challenge? i saw it from someone's vlog,, she has tried mask sheet for the whole week and her skin changed soooo georgous!
thanks
I love your channel! I wish glossier does shipping to Canada
thanks for sharing, have you tried paula's choice? It did wonders for my skin.
your skin is perfect :) do u have any advise for acne :(?
Great video!
Does this skin routine work for any type of skin?
overnight mask should come after the moisturiser,or you can simply skip the moisturiser when youre using the overnight mask
Just discovered your channel! I was wondering if I have to use the oil cleanser because I don't wear makeup.
Good to do once a day to wash off dirt, etc!
Amazing video! :) very informative
Is the sunscreen in this video better than the neogen one in the korean video?
Question : Do you wipe off the mask? or you just put the moisturiser on top of it?
Depends on the mask! If it's a moisturizing one or collagen, whatever, I go about the routine. If it's a clay, I rinse off. Depends on the instruction of your mask
have you owned a clairsonic? what do you think of it?
+Moaritsu Didn't like it and returned it.
Great vid :)
your glossier promo code is so cute lol
+Camille D If only they made it milkyjellyrachy
Do you leave the mask on or you rinse off and then continue with the other steps?
+Guanina Cotto Honestly, I just kind of leave it on and stop there. My skin hasn't fallen off yet so I assume it's okay.
Here's my "9" step Korean skincare routine
-Cleansing gel (From drugstore)
-Foaming cleanser
-Exfoiliater or face scrub (3x a week)
-Toner
-Sheet mask (3x a week)
-Serum (From drugstore)
-Essence (the excess liquid from my sheet masks)
-Moisterizer
-Sleeping mask (3x a week) or drying pimple lotion/ For morning SPF
Don't use eye cream I'm 12
Essence should be applied before serum because it's purpose is to prep the skin for serums, etc.
PLEASE ANSWERRR: is this a daily routine or weekly?
daily! xx masks and exfoliate are once a week
I want to start doing the 10 step but am I suppose to do the 10 step everyday twice a day ? thanks
annael lol yes. You do 10 ish steps twice a day. In the morning, of course, you don't need to double cleanse (assuming you dont sleep in makeup) but you do add SPF as the last step. In the evening you do double cleanse if you wear makeup and leave out the SPF and just end with moisturizer.
Post more!!!! What's in my bag please!!!
+Ava Robinson Trying to!!!!

Hm, look into it! Everyone has different skin :)
Anything that is an astringent will strip your skin of moisture. What koreans call toners are different from the western toners. They mean alcohol free hydrating toner.
I'm still a teen and my mom says that I shouldn't use much products on my face, so should I follow this 10 steps skin care routine or just keep my skin care routine as minimal as possible?
diya mellycka anti aging should be done as young as possible to prevent the aging don’t wait till ur aging to do it
diya mellycka here's the thing: The 10 step Korean skincare is a guide. Don't do this everyday. If you are going to do each step, do it on a weekend to pamper yourself. what do i use for essence i really don't know what it is please help 😩
Ok so do you do this in the morning or at night or both ?
both! adding this to the FAQ in description box
Rachel! just a question! how tall are you?
Love you!
What kind of markers are those?
De.jart is also a korean brand!!!
Did you not hear me say that in the video?? No need to get up in arms haha. I said they re a Korean brand but have more international appeal so they're in here. The other Korean products you can't find here in the states
helloooo could anyone tell me whats a toner for? thanks
I'm confused about applying a mask after putting on a serum - are you supposed to rinse off the mask and thereby also rinse off the serum?
It depends on the mask! Most of the sheet masks aren't to rinse off - if it's a clay one, then put serum after. But if it's a sheet mask, it's another active ingredient to get super soaked into the skin :)
Also made video on japanies products
great video😊👌🏻
can you do a mask recommendations please because theres so many on the market -_-
+Angelica Enriquez IKR, I just use whatever. I don't have favorites. But my favorite brand is Dr. Jart for masks.
PS just got my phase 1 set with ur code ;)
+Hannah Eleanor YAY! I hope you LOVE!!
+Hannah Eleanor And that you get stickers cause I didn't :(
Oh yes! fingers crossed for stickers!
