Albert Einstein once said: “Compound interest is the eighth wonder of the world. He who understands it, earns it … he who doesn’t … pays it.”
💵 While it may be tempting to spend everything you make, you’ll end up much wealthier if you invest as much and as early as you can.
As an example, let’s say we have two people, Albert and Barry who invest in a fund that gives them 7% a year.
🕺🏻Albert invests $5,000 a year at age 18. He stops investing after 10 years and just lets the investments continue to grow.
🕺On the other hand , Barry also invests $5,000 a year but starts at age 28 and continues his annual $5,000 contribution until he retires at age 58.
At the end of it, Albert invested for 10 years early on and only put in $50,000, whereas Barry invested $150,000 over 30 years.
Who do you think has more money at the end?
🕺🏻🎉 Surprisingly, Albert has more money over time with $521,000 whereas Barry only has $502,000!
The point is, it pays to invest as early as possible!
👍 If you haven’t invested yet, it’s ok! It’s better to start now than never at all.

    A) If Timmy spent all that money on property (cars, houses etc.) and didn't waste it all on nights out, he can sustain himself pretty well. Property skyrockets in value overtime. And,
    B) Timmy actually lived his life all this time and didn't have to wait till he's 40 to start spending money.

How does buying fancy cars and fancy house make his quality of life better than his brother's. The other guy actually enjoyed thrifting and investing his money. They both had the same quality of life for spending money as they wish, the difference is the other brother gets to take a break early and spend the rest of his life enjoying the fruit of his efforts. Timmy is also enjoying th fruit of his efforts but he don't get to take a rest.

    • @Borderose
      @Borderose Рік тому +6

@@myouniverse0613 Look, I get that the whole point is to invest as early as possible. I agree.
But there's also something called "acceptable losses". Those memories Timmy got at buying all the candy from the store, the girls he might have gotten with that stupid sportscar, and all the other memories he got enjoying himself in his youth for 30 good years? That's priceless. While his body was at his best, Timmy got to enjoy what he has more when his body was more inclined for it. Timmy might not be very wise in the long-term. He will never be as rich as Billy at 60. The problem is the video implies that Billy's only really deciding to live his life now that he's friggin 40.
He's gonna buy all the candy in the store now? Can't. He's worried about diabetes.
Sportscar? At 40? Sure. What is he compensating for? And who is he trying to impress? The cute aunty by the street? Or some sugar baby? Oh, I hope he found someone nice while he was younger who loves him for who he is. What stupid or cute or interesting little stories is he gonna tell his kids?
And it's not like the door's shut on Timmy investing. He's 40. He's making his best money now, and if he invests until he's 60 for 20 years, he should be comfortable come actual retirement age. He can make more in a year than Billy ever did in his teens even while investing, and it should take him 5 years working to do what Billy was able to build in his early 20's. I expect Billy to have been making serious bank and his investments to pay-off around his late 20s and by that he was already on-road to retirment. It will take Timmy 10 years working just to match what Timmy made before he hits 30. UNLESS he started investing as soon as he hit 40. In which case the gap is much smaller. With smart investing? Timmy can build his own retirement fund in 15 years. 10 if he's smart and gets Billy to help him. And Billy will. Because Billy's smart too and understands having a brother who's also doing well financially is good for the family overall and gives everyone an extra pillar of support. Also, he's gonna be bored at some point and he'll want to dip his hands at another investment plan, because, honestly, if he did it for 30 years that's probably what he's always enjoyed doing.

Let me tell you a inspiring story.
A man was very hard working at job and almost didn’t use his money, only saving it all.
He worked so much that he didn’t have time to get a wife, or get kids. He didn’t spend time with family or have friends, always saying that he was saving that for when he get older.
After a harsh life, the man finally felt that he was already done and retired.
He showed off to everyone, showing that now he was rich and would live in luxury.
After a week, when he was going down the stairs of his mansion, he fell off and died.

Timmy: enjoys life while still being able to afford food and a roof under his head
Billy: works off the first ever payment he got from his job, invests the rest, he can finally start having fun but is too old to enjoy it to the fullest.
Alternate timeline: stocks crash and billy is homeless
