It’s not every primate mother (especially captive) that has a strong maternal instinct and reflex. It’s amazing that this dude has survived. He’s so cute!
I’ve never seen one in the thousands of Orang videos I’ve watched that’s nearly this bad. Jerang is hardly the problem here. Zero interest in routinely nursing him. No wonder he looks 2 months old…
@@JonasWhite It's not Jingga's fault, the boy has a medical condition preventing him from growing up normally. There's nobody bad or worse here except for humans who are driving Orangutans towards extinction
Look at him go - pulling himself right up to standing and he has what appears to be more control of his facial expressions too! Well done Jarrang!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Little Jarang!! he's so beautiful & I'm glad to see him getting stronger and doing more especially he behind developmentally. The two things I wish is that his surgery is successful & that the videos were longer or there were more on him. I also would love to know if these two ever get to go outside like Summer and her baby does? I think it would bring Jingga's spirits up & Jarang would like it!!Thank you for the great video!!❤❤❤
Jarang That little sucker when you think he's down for the count. Here he comes back stronger. He sure looks good.Praise the Lord.Yeah.Yall must be really doing a great job of taking care of him and giving him nourishment.God bless yall🙏🙏🙏
I have watched a lot of videos of orangutans and this little guy has something wrong. In the wild he probably would have fallen off his mom and died long ago. She acts like she doesn’t know what to do with a baby that can’t move or hang on like it should. He is over a year old and still moves like he was just born.
I’ve noticed that too on several videos. She will pull him off while he was still nursing, and you can tell by his mouth movements that he still wants to nurse more. If he starts moving up on her body, she pulls him down to her leg. And then when she moves, and he’s on her leg, he’s frequently being dragged. I am so surprised that this zoo has not intervened in his care. He will never be returned to the wild, so having a surrogate should not be an issue.
@@pacaluvr7963 I’ve noticed all those things. In this video, he manages to get on her back and she pulls off. I feel bad for him…his lower body seems extremely weak.
He was born with inguinal hernias which makes it hard for him to move. They are waiting until he is strong enough to go through surgery to correct the problem. Orangutan experts say neither Jingga or Jarang are doing anything wrong, and Jingga has figured out ways to carry him that make it easier for Jarang
I've read comments saying she's a bad mother. No animal is a bad mother, she's an inexperienced mom. The bad ones are the zookeepers. They should've removed little Jarrang as soon as they noticed that Jinga was not doing her job. The humans are the ones that have been careless with this little angel. I've commented this a lot of times. It's so sad to watch.
She doesn’t take any care of him. Any time that is mentioned someone is at you for hating on Jingga - which it’s not anything but an observation of the situation. It’s a miracle that Jarang has made it through.
Awwww look at li’l man go❣️ He’s getting so much stronger - amazing to see him clinging to Jingga’s back like that. 👏😍 His little eyes are bright and alert, and he’s active and interested in what’s going on around him. He may still have some mobility problems, but both he and Jingga look well and happy. I’m SO pleased for them and for Blackpool Zoo. ❤
What a cutie. He’s supposed to have surgery to repair a double hernia. Hey need him to get a little bigger so that he’ll have a chance to survive the surgery. Jarang is the zoos first critically endangered Bornean orangutan. You can bet that the zoo is taking this seriously. The zoo has been consulting many experts regarding the surgery. They believe the hernias have greatly affected his growth.
I get that hernias affect mobility (although I wonder if he has them because he has been yanked around the place by each of his limbs at various times- wouldn’t that cause hernias in a tiny infant?) but he seems to be constantly hungry. So many orang babies just lie around in the mom’s arms without constantly rooting as Jarang does. He might be small because he isn’t fed enough or ever fully satiated…at least after watching the 20 or so videos from Ape Tracker. That orang has had a stressful upbringing- while Summer’s baby is calm and cradled 24/7
@@imogen2092 how do you/they know that? I don’t ask to be unkind…but I have seen him held upside down by one leg…5 or 6 months old… ( in a personal video on instagram).
@@imogen2092 honestly, I love Jingga. She has a gentle sweetness about her and she loves her baby, Jarang. But, she has a routine with him and doesn’t seem willing to change it or try to help him develop. No climbing…no food sharing…no crawling up on her. I don’t see her adapting her mothering to him, I see her stuck in a rigid routine. He is trying so hard… i think that is why I feel a little sad for him…
Бедный маленький Джаранг , ему больно становиться на ножки из - за огромной грыжи . Скорей бы сделали операцию . У кого была грыжа знают что это очень неприятная вещь .
He is much stronger. I hope the surgery helps him. In these short videos, it looks like Jingga holds him back. He’s trying to do normal 1 year old orangutan things …. I really don’t get it :(
It is so sad to see this mother behaving like this most likely being in Captivity for so long because they never leave their babies to Struggle holding on in such dangerous way this is Result of keeping them in zoos they need to be in wild not in zoos
Poor baby is severely disabled (from birth) and mom is has no instincts for handling a little one so incapacitated. She is doing the best she knows how to do. He should be climbing and trying to eat solid foods. Go look at other babies his age. Think what will happen when he is twice this weight still struggling. The surgery is not going to cure his developmental condition....I know we all love him, but the future is not bright for this little guy. At least we know now that the zoo is trying to help him.

If you’ve been watching since birth, which maybe you have, I don’t think the problem is mom. Jarang is likely developmentally challenged
She's a wonderful mom, she's doing her best given the boy's medical condition

He has the most beautiful and precious little face, I wish him the best on his surgery. 🥰♥️🦧
I love how Jarang keeps crawling into frame…”surprise! I’m here too!”
He's definitely getting stronger

Bahagianya melihat Jarang yang selamat dan sehat walaupun diasuh mama yang aneh
He keeps trying to be a normal baby and climb up on his mom. She always stops him :(
Джаранг стал посильней , когда планируется операция ?❤

Yes, it was great to see him growing. 🥰
Pauvre bébé, elle ne s'en occupe pas du tout. Êtes vous certain que le petit mange suffisamment ???

Obvious malnutrition.
Poor baby, first orangutan mother I have seen that is basically ignoring her baby. He is trying so hard for his mama to pick him up. 😢😢

These videos could be longer! how old is this little one, he should have been climbing their run a long time ago
1 year 1 1/2 months
Has his surgery been scheduled?
Jingga is such a terrible mother. It pains me to watch the way that she treats Jarang. 😢
