I’ve heard that toothpaste is abrasive and will scratch and dull the aligners. I start my first Invisalign tray in 2 weeks. Trying to learn as much as possible.
@@jetboutiqueorthodontics Thanks for the reply. I am an adult with 2 remaining baby teeth, both my upper canines. I have to pull both of those, do an expose and bond, and pull the permanent canines down. X-rays show both permanent canines are in perfect position to come down and are very low. I went to 5 orthodontists before choosing the one I went with and all said they would likely come down, but it is not guaranteed. Each however had a slightly different approach to do it. Have you ever heard of impacted canines coming down with Invisalign instead of braces? Just curious.
@@Tehreem512 I tried toothpaste and it does scratch them up. I use clear liquid soap now and that works great. Keeps them clean and looking like brand new.
@@quadology294 I’ve been doing it for 4 months with no problems. It is what my Ortho told me to do. It is a very mild, clear soap, and I always rinse it before putting back in my mouth.
This is ok for aligners that will be replaced soon. But not so great for bite guards or permanent retainers. It makes them taste gross like old toothpaste and some say it scratches them over time and contributes to yellowing and build up....
Hi 🙂 Invisalign’s official instructions for use say to brush the aligners with toothbrush and toothpaste. What has been your experience that you advice against this?
@@JamesBond-lp9wr Hi! 🙂 The Invisalign instructions for use say to use a toothbrush and toothpaste to clean the aligners. That’s what I did for my Invisalign aligners; that’s what I do for my retainers currently; and this is what I instruct all of my patients to do. We have not had a problem. 👍🏼

Wow I didn’t think of that technique. Thanks for sharing
Anytime! Glad it could help :)
NEVER use toothpaste on your aligners. You are to only use antibacterial soap and warm water.
Take them out of your mouth to clean them too.

I heard that you could use toothpaste sometimes, but just not to often

It has to be cold water and not warm
People say toothpaste will make them turn yellowish…
Great thanks...just one request if u could close the tap while cleaning when not needed 😊
Good point! 🙂
Bruh omg stfu ? You really really couldn’t hold your self telling him to do that smh get a grip and move on
Mine is foggy and yellow spots all over how to fix it?
I just use hand soap. Works better and destroys the smell
Toothpaste makes my retainer foggy 😭
Now I just use the retainer cleaner tablets, they work best for me
What to do when theres this yellow thing, that you can't wash of from the time when you put invisalign too fast after eating?
I’m not sure I understand you question…
When I got mine yesterday they told me not to use toothpaste cause it would make them look foggy
It actually does idk what to clean them with ?
@@vatslmao2677 peroxide
@@Code_PMGamingTLDmay you please elaborate?
@@mody3boody977 use a food grade safety hydrogen peroxide. It looks kinda like water and you just squirt it on your Invisalign
For me brushing them makes them look brand new
Yea , i did that and it got lotssss of cracks rn
Hmm. That shouldn’t happen. I wonder what material was used.
Hello, can we soak these aligners in hydrogen peroxide for cleaning and or stain removal? Thanks!
No, but if you did, diluting it with a ton of water and not doing it often could work
you are wasting a lot of water...
