    Looking forward to making this. My mom is taking your turkey tail/ elderberry capsules & its done wonders supporting her recovery from breast cancer & helped a growth on her hand from skin cancer( drs wanted to remove - surgery would have left her without use of hand for 6wks ) its faded to a spot size of a freckle originally the size of a quarter dr ran test & she received all clear . She credits the turkey tail 100%

      Yep! While I can't say it on my listing for the capsules turkey tail is amazing for cancer, it helps your body recognize the mutated cells vs just seeing them as a natural part of your body.

      Aw, that's great news to hear, about the turkey tail but mostly about your mum. ❤
      I just came across a Dr. Whome I forget the name of but he wrote a book called Cancer as a Metabolic Disease- or a variation on that title- aka it's not as it's been portrayed nor treated properly... Idk, but the interview I watched really opened my eyes to the fact they really aren't trying to CURE shit. $$$... follow the 💰. Every damn time.
      Anyway, she probably made a wise choice not to have the surgery on her hand. Perhaps look up a video interview of this dr. And see what he's saying. Seems to be a zero sugar and added ketone state for the win in the hour I've looked into it thus far .
      Good luck to you & mom ❤
      April, love your opinion/knowledge here too!

    Also could you decoct(sp) mushrooms using the percolator like your dandelion root tea? Or does it need to be in the boiling water?

      If it's powdered it's probably already been extracted to some degree but beyond that powders won't work for this. As far as using the percolator I don't see why it wouldn't work although I'd go for a longer time 😊

A few days ago I went out to my greenhouse and in the corner of one side the rain came in where there is a tree stump wow I looked down and some beautiful Turkey Tail mushrooms were growing I couldn't believe it.. Hello April, Question. I am lucky to find Ganoderma around where I live ( along with Turkey Tail) and have been slicing, then drying the gandoderma to make different things with one being powder. With the powder i'm making spice rubs etc also putting in cookies which seems like a good mix since they always smell like chocolate to me especially applanatum, it even has what looks like cocoa powder as spores. .. anyway so i'm wondering what the benefits are and also why people also make the powdered extract and if it can be made at home. Maybe that could be a video one day? Thanks again.🍵

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  7 місяців тому +1

      Heya! She's really great as an anti-inflammatory good for blood sugar regulation, immune support functions. She's really very similar to Reishi mushroom!
      People are making extract versions because a lot of her properties won't be present without heat plus water and unfortunately making the powdered extracts at home can be a little bit tricky! It would require making a thick tea and then attempting to dehydrate that and then powder what was left behind. You can also make a tincture and then evaporate off all of the liquid and end up with a small amount of powder.

    • @opheliabells
      @opheliabells 7 місяців тому

      @@sheisofthewoods Thanks for taking the time to reply. . I have researched the benefits and such but can never find the exact information i'm looking for like the VS benefits they just lump it all together it's really hard to find specific information on mushrooms for me anyway, it's hard.. yes there is a lot of information on google but for example, you go to the top 10 medicinal uses of ganoderma and they do list benefits and ways to use it medicinally but they don't say anything in depth it's all lumped together, nothing about you get this benefit from using it dried, or this benefit from tea form or this benefit from powder. Not many if any books out there on the subject.. people really hold on to that knowledge or sell it, I have seen a class i'd of liked to take but it's quite a lot of money! and I don't trust many people- where do you go? for now I just do what feels right to me but it would be interesting to know what benefits i'm getting from the powder. I've made a dual-extract turkey tail tincture and thought i'd followed along with your advice so you must have had another video up on the subject i'll check that out again today too. 🍄🍄🪴

    • @melissawelsh3289
      @melissawelsh3289 7 місяців тому

      @@thebandplayedon..6145 I think you would dehydrate the tincture somehow. (I wonder if they can be put in a curing cabinet?) So the turkey tail has already been through weeks in vodka, kept somewhat heated preferably so the water soluble properties were also extracted, or a decoction made afterward and added back. Then that liquid is dehydrated to become powder so (ostensibly) you can get the benefits of the mushroom without needing to simmer it for so long.
      It makes more sense to me to just either make a tea or a tincture. Or have both available. I don't think I'd want to go to all the effort of making a tincture just to powder it for easy tea. 🤷

      Yes, the Vodka has the properties of the mushroom infused in it, but dried- aka- evaporated- there is nothing of solid material to be left to be dried. Haha omg this strikes me funny this morning I'm like is it just me? Am I having a stroke? WTH?

    • @melissawelsh3289
      @melissawelsh3289 7 місяців тому

      @@thebandplayedon..6145 think about it like drying or curing an herb. You're removing the water. Everything else is still there. Mushroom can't evaporate. I don't think there would be a ton of material left over. It seems like you'd have to dehydrate a lot of tincture to get much powder. They may freeze-dry it. I've seen people freeze dry liquids before. Same deal - it just removes the water.

    Question- for Lions Mane mushroom tincature does it need to be heat extracted like with tukey tail, or is regular alcohol fine?
    I've seen people online saying it needs to be double extracted so we get both the water and alcohol soluble properties, but then they're all using grain alcohol so I'm thinking if I use regular vodka then like you always say we're already getting both water and alcohol solubles...? Or is it, like turkey tail, requiring the heat to extract into the water?

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  Місяць тому

      You can do it the traditional way or if you use 100 proof vodka and you put the jar somewhere really hot for a few months like the seed heating box I teach people to make you do not have to do the extraction because the water + heat will do that for you ☺️

    Question. Do you need to dry these mushrooms before storing them in a sealed jar to avoided mold and such?

    QUESTION : you said it was not really an edible mushroom ... what happens if you're buying that turkey tail mushroom blend that companys sell as a coffee ? are you actually eating the turkey tail mushroom in thet instance then?

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  7 місяців тому +3

      It's a powdered extract, Turkey Tail itself can't be powdered it just turns into a fluff. So typically they're drying and powdering a tincture or a tea/decoction because it has to be a water soluble powder.

    If I'm making a VG tincture, would I decoct and then add in the VG and let sit for 2 weeks? Or would I do it the same way as an alcohol tincture?

    • @sheisofthewoods
      @sheisofthewoods  7 місяців тому

      You can't add water to a VG tincture because they're already not really shelf stable.

      @@elainroles7217 Ahh, bummer, it needs to be kept at 25% ABV (alcohol by volume) to remain shelf stable and 100 proof is only 50% alcohol per cup. So at 1/2 cup per cup of 100 proof you'd be below 25% ABV because water is heavier than alcohol.
