The fan on top of the instrument stack is a nice detail. It can get uncomfortably hot in a bubble canopy on a sunny day. Note that the purpose of those tight "crop duster turns" at the end of the field is to quickly turn around and get back to work before the finance company can repossess the aircraft.
Brilliant flying and pilot control, makes me more determined to win lotto and get a helicopter licence and do stuff like this, looks fun all the way. 10/10

Manapság terjed a permetező GPS használata, ez már nagyon megkönnyíti és pontossá teszi a csatlakozást.

De akkoris mozognak (kis fordulaton) a lapátok, ha egyik járó motor sincs összekapcsolva a reduktorral. Ilyenkor a tengelykapcsolóban lévő olaj ad át némi nyomatékot, így forgatva "lassan" a lapátokat.
At the 6 minute mark (right after reloading) the pilot makes a pretty aggressive forward push on the cyclic and then pulls pitch. Never seen that done before and I'm curious the reason behind it. Awesome video, love the noise and smoke these old girls make.
+Shawn Lund You should see the outside view of the take-off. 0:27 With the max load the Kamov 26 helicopter can only take-off with a 100 meter long horizontal acceleration path. To gain speed and create lift.

Great flying! You know how they say soaring in a glider is the closest we can get to the birds? From that video, I can see that flying a Kamov 26 is the closest we can get to being an insect! It's amazing how you zoomed around in that field.

Pár napja hallottam a kertemből hogy a környéken permeteznek egy ilyennel és mivel gyerekkorom óta szeretem a kamovokat így biciklire pattantam és elmentem megkeresni. Mire kiértem sajnos már kilóméterekkel arrébb permetezett. Utánaeredtem de mire odaértem megint eltűnt és nem is hallottam. Elindultam vissza a faluba mikor jött velem szembe egy traktor ami vitte ki neki az üzemanyagot vagy a permetszert, de nem mentem már utána. Remélem lesz még alkalom hogy elkapjam.Amúgy Paks-Dunakömlődön volt és Gyapa felé ment tovább.
Who know, judging from the respond here. There is business for tourist to ride on it for a morning sunflower field spray- 30 min ride as a attraction for those who enjoy it. It just need to work with tour agency to market it as a package.

Do You sense a differense^ "the military craft" or "to use the civil helicopter by soldiers"? The DDR copter - is border defence helicopter. At Your link do not wrote it patrol (monitoring) craft or transport. I'm sorry for my english :) :(
It is really impressive skilled pilotage. May I ask a question, how do you know the track that you follow over the field, is there any marker, flags end/begin of the field or GPS track?
I think he do it by his estimation. Obviously he is very experienced pilot and return loop in exact position where he want he can do even with closed eyes.
Lea Kaderova You're right. The pilots don't need a GPS to follow the track, sometimes they use it; but in the early '70'- 80- '90s in Hungary there were not any GPS devices. :)
That Kamov is as ugly as an A-10 Warthog, but it sure does fly well. I just don't see why anyone would even fly a single rotor helicopter, especially for utility operations. And yes, it sure does look like fun!
Yes it is fun to ride one of these indeed. I've had several joy rides ( i know a pilot so he took me with him). This thing is pretty much a set of engines and a pilot seat bolted on to them . No dead weight to lift and carry. Its super agile and it can hug the ground like nobody's busyness. Note on the video that the front wheels are almost touching the plants which are no more than 5 feet tall. Combine that with a crazy and skilled pilot and u got yourself one hell of a ride ;)
OFFtopic: Ka-26 is said to need much service due to its radial engines. Kamov contra-rotating design is ingenious, but I must ask: Are the mainrotor mechanic parts reliable?
@cspal13 Azért az én nevem alatt találsz egy Dromi videót a MUR-ról. Sajnos azóta eladták a gépet, most már csak 3 db maradt az Alföldön. MVA Tiszasüly; MVB és MTP Mezőhegyes. Turbo Cmelákok egy része már nem a mezőgazdaságban dolgozik, kb. 3-4 dolgozhat a mezőgazdaságban Jászapáti, Kunmadaras, Kisújszállás körzetében.
If you want to fly a Ka-26, you should travel to Hungary as soon as possible! Yes, there is no torque when you pull the collective, only positive climbrate! :)

i'm an ex-helo pilot, the Kamov looks like a fun machine. If you let go of the cyclic in a R22 you're dead in a few seconds.
