Both myself and my wife have ambitions of moving out of our rented three bed bungalow and living in a motorhome, fed up with this life and looking for an alternative lifestyle ! We are both in our 50’s + 3 grown up kids. Now it’s our time! Great video! You are an inspiration.

It's funny Liam (me) can't watch the video back anymore because of that scene, I had no idea that janine got upset that day about it all 😔 It's tough isn't it? All those possessions represent so many memories...but ultimately we will be freer without them. Hopefully the next stage will be easier 🙏 Thanks for watching our journey, much love ❤
I live in a static for 10 months of the year and then I stay with friends or relatives for 2 months while the park is closed.
I'm literally 10 metres from the beach. I love it here, although the wind is a bit crazy sometimes!

I think it's really brave of you both to give away everything like that. I'm not a materialistic person but I've got so many books and sentimental things that I'd have to put in storage because I don't think I could part with them.

I lived in France for over 20 years and before I repatriated I had to sell everything or pay for it to be shipped and stored. Over the years I had amassed loads of stuff, most of which was dead weight. It was super hard at first to choose what to let go but it got easier and in no time I relished the idea of a small footprint. I now live a minimalistic life on a small boat. I LOVE IT! I am enjoying your journey. Good luck to you both x

I feel for you, and well done! we moved recently and was also told by the local charity shop not to come back! Even so, now all I want is to get rid of more stuff! probably nowhere near as drastic as yours, but I do crave a more minimalist existence. Wow I’ve just done the same thing! I sold my static in November and bought a T4 but he’s broken down and being repaired I’m in Cornwall just waiting to start my new life! All my belongings are in a container waiting to be sold - how spooky! Good luck ❤️

I probably shouldn't say this but I love your caravan!. We live in a 3 bedroom house we don't own and the thought of buying a caravan outright for our retirement really appeals to me. My hubby is not so keen but there is plenty of time to persuade him 😉. I really admire you for your lifestyle and wish you all the best for the future 😊

I left London on a bicycle in 2004. Everything I owned in the world was on my bicycle. The first thing you have to learn is Letting Go as a Traveller. You have to leave Places, People and Things behind you, to make room fir the New Things that are coming.
I have a 70L backpack with all my worldly goods in now.

We are also fond of books, they were so hard to part with. In fact there are several we couldn't part with, so we are probably going to build a little bookshelf in the van haha 😆

Wow, busy, busy. Why did I know you lived in a static home in Brighton? You must have mentioned it in passing on one of your videos. It’s really hard work clearing years of ‘stuff’. We only moved last year but it took us almost 2 years to clutter clear and downsize and your task is certainly a downsize! Here’s wishing you well with your first winter in your beautiful van. If you are ever in Westward Ho! and need a hot shower and a vegan meal you are very welcome 😉

I wish you the best of luck with everything! It will feel good to be rid of unnecessary belongings, mine are starting to stress me out! Do you drive Janine? I'm just wondering from a practical point of view now that you are just van lifers whether you can also drive the van, in case you need to take over for a short period if Liam was feeling unwell or got an injury?
That's a really good point! And one we have been speaking about recently. Janine can drive but not so confident driving a van
How difficult was to decide to sell as opposed to renting the mobile home out long-term and let go of having a base to fall back on if say... one if you were to have a health issue or accident that made living in a van unpractical?
Would have been a lot of hassle, and not possible on this particular site

You apply minimalism and you both work ethically. I love how niche your market is. Re travel and veganism. You both work really hard without the need to spend materialistically and your work is about vegan businesses and minimalism. You apply both. I knew a meat eater who owned a vegan grocery store!!!!! Interesting.:) I wondered what your back story was and if you had a mortgage or a house or anything.
We had kept this part of our lives secret from so many people for the whole time we have been here. It was actually quite nice to finally share our alternative living situation, even though we are moving out 💚

We did get to sell some of it!! We had bought some brand new stuff not so long ago and we sold that, but most went to charity shop

We don't get much time to watch stuff. And we haven't watched normal TV in at least 10 years or so. But Netflix movies we might have a go at, sometimes a series like Cobra Kai, You, Squid Games, etc

I've been trying to declutter my space lately, so totally understand how tough it can be. I cleared out all my old toys from when I was a kid, that was tough but memories and future adventures are always better than stuff. I did keep a couple of sentimental ones though😊😊. Well done you two, onwards and upwards to your next big adventure 😀😀, can't wait to see where you end up next😊

Hi Guys, I left the UK in 2009 for Kazakhstan (later China and Thailand) with 25lbs of stuff. Mostly clothes, a couple of books and 1 photo of my son. I left everything else with family in 2 locations. I returned to the UK 7 years later on a short holiday and of course I didn't need any of it!
I hadn't missed it at all.
It's best to get rid before you go! You can live a simple life with very few things. Do you really need all those shoes? I've had only 1 or 2 pair in the last decade. Go guys Go!

I've just stubbled across your channel and I was firstly surprised that you're vegan and now note that you're from East Sussex- I'm wondering which caravan park this is if you can divulge? I'm thinking about moving up to Glasgow for some affordable housing but have also been considering a caravan to stay closer to home. Would love to be nearer Brighton than I currently am as well.

I admire your dedication to van life but I've never understood why owning possessions is a bad thing and something to be scorned. It seems to very fashionable now, I hope you don't regret it.

I wonder how you can have insurance etc on your vehicle if you have no address.
We are fortunate to be able to put our parents address on that, we know others use their friends' addresses
