Looking out for that chat. I'd love to hear you talk a bit about the business side a bit more. What's your main constraint for growth? Is production or sales/marketing? What's the breakdown of hours spent on various task per pound value added? Where's the biggest value added in your process? Etc.
Hey there! New subscriber here from a few days ago! Really have been super enjoying all of your content! Have went back through your great catalog of videos and have enjoyed getting to know you an the business 🔥💯👍. You have a beautiful location there and great set up for your operation! Looking forward to that video on how you came about to be in the firewood business 🔥💯👍. Cheers and take care! Andrew from NB, Canada :)
Cranes are definitely the way to go. You'll be asking yourself why you didn't do it earlier. I worked in a poly fabrication workshop that always had a 5 ton gantry crane that covered the entire shed. We added 4 free standing electric 4 metre reach beam and trolley cranes over the various work stations with a couple that could reach multiple stations. Productivity went through the roof just with one man handling lifts that otherwise would've taken two or three and a forklift or two. It was much kinder on the machinery too because it wasn't getting knocked about. I was wondering if a tail gate lift on your truck might be better. Maybe even a hiab. Your roads are very tight so maybe these ideas mightn't limit your truck access.
Yet another great video. Looking forward to Christmas, the pigs in blankets and your Christmas special!QQ How do you season the non kiln dried wood. It’s great to see you making a success. Keep you the good work
I will do more videos on it again in the spring but we are putting cord away for the spring now then we will cut and split as soon as the barn is clear or we have time and start filling it again. It’s pretty much all ash so dries pretty fast in vented bags and good airflow
Absolutely love the set up you have. I am in the States starting a firewood business and plan on using bags for delivery. Where do you get your bags from?
My wife said i am getting old and sad 😔how can you find firewood so interesting she asked? your automated set up is awesome. Just an observation would an other pair of hands not help at this time of year ? and was Woody not out on delivery"s today?🤣🤣🤣
I’d be interested to hear about your early processing setup, before you got your original processor. Where it all started and how far it has come.
There will be a video coming maybe a Christmas special

Once you get that concrete you will be so happy you did. Makes firewood so much easier. Especially with clean up.
Definitely!

Don't forget to check your oil !.....great channel
I do now! 😂
Question for the future video, do you have any concerns about the net zero agenda when you own a firewood business .
Greetings from me in New Zealand, where all we get is pine or expensive native Manuka. Wood. My wood is all 30cm plus
Looking forward to your business plan explanation mate.
Im intrigued as to which crane your going for!
Super 😊😊😊😊😊
Looking forward to see how you started interesting also how many cubic meters of firewood is a lorry load fully split
I'm looking at buying some wood in, where do you get yours from?
Becoming very hard to get if I’m honest

One question i have is when you order your wood in by the truck ( 24t ? ) what are average prices for each load and wood species ?

A bag supplier there are a good few here in the uk. Worth having a google and shop around 👍🏼
@@oakfarmfirewood I like the smaller sizes you have. Do you have a contact in the UK?
Do u live on the farm
Would you be better with a curtain box lorry for wet conditions? Be awful handy it would.
Yeah I agree but they are very high and the amount of tight lanes/driveways I need to go down will amaze you
How tightly shut do you keep kiln doors, should it all be as tight as possible or not so much so there's plenty of air getting out?
Don’t want any pressure on the burner fans if you don’t have enough vents it will be hard to close. It’s fine with a gap also

Yes I do have a hand but need another I think. We are growing year on year
I have a solution for your bins from the last video was unable to comment
buy a hiab lorry.
Say boss could you convert your measurements to inches please sir. I don’t do meters and search
I’ll try say both 👍🏼
@@oakfarmfirewood thank you. I like what you are doing. We all need to learn from each other. Thanks for repy
