@@annika_panicka Alaska kept calling Katya "Adore" (implying that she was ripping off Adore's look) throughout the season. Adore's catchphrase is saying "Party!" as a way to express approval of someone/something.
So, in this pivotal moment, where Alaska is begging for Katya to let her stay in the competition and giving her a laundry list of excuses, Katya just replies, "Party..." She's not only reminding her of what a shady b*tch she's been to her but also basically saying "I don't care". Of course, Katya meant it to be far more lighthearted than Alaska took it but the absolutely expert timing she used it combined with the devastation from Alaska is just hilariously psychopathic 😂😂😂
Btw there was an interview about that, katya didn't really said that she said something else to alaska but the editors ended up cutting that part and replaced it with PARTY

I remember seeing tati’s spoken word piece when it aired it was one of the biggest gags of the entire series cause everyone was like “you’ve been off the show like 10 years and the first thing you’re coming back with is a spoken word piece?” And then she came out with such confidence in what she was doing and it was hilarious and unlike anything any queen had done before or done since

I think a lot people don't realize how iconic of a season this was when it aired if they came into drag race and everything after season 8. But, for those of us who were there watching this all play out live, there just won't ever be a season like it again. The lip sync for your life twist, the cast, the challenges, the production, Todrick raising the bar for dancing and singing, the best musical performance from any season with Read U Wrote U, and let us NOT FORGET the ICONIC face crack of the century with the mirror reveal after Phi Phi runs her mouth about Alyssa and her camera dress. This is the best season of RuPaul's Drag Race, period.

I've joined the fandom when s8 finished airing and binge watched all of previous season. What a surprise it was when AS2 came out full of my faves and twists and turns. Still my favourite season by far

I disagree. Queens from older seasons will most likely not get casted because producers will most likely cast new queems that fandom are aware of, and queens will get older. So yuhh

I honestly forgot that this was the AS season Phi Phi was until I saw Alyssa's camera dress. As soon as I saw it I remembered the eliminated queens being brought back and seeing them appear on the other side of the mirror in the work room! Phi Phi had been the other queen in the top two with Alaska that week. When the others asked him to show his lipstick once they got back in the workroom he'd also chosen Alyssa. He said ALOT about Alyssa and then suddenly Alyssa was right there, glaring at him from behind the glass with the rest of the eliminated queens - FACE CRACK! (That's what the above clip is.)
I know Phi Phi/Jaremi was very upset about this season and wasn't a part of the reunion. According to Jaremi the show gave him a poor edit and purposefully tried to make him look bad, taking things out of context and asking him specific questions or to talk about specific things. He said this season was supposed to be his redemption arc. Was also very upset about the fact that Rupaul didn't do anything to try to put a stop to all the hate he was receiving. (If I remember right his mother was even getting death threats, which is absolutely ridiculous. None of the queens, or their families, deserve threats of any kind).
I don't know the truth or what actually happened but it doesn't make sense to purposefully exclude Phi Phi from a compilation but keep clips of them posted.

It’s always crazy to me to think about the fact that if Katya sent Alaska home she probably would have won. Same with shangela sending home trixie.
She didn't win the lpsync, Detox did. So she could have chosen Alaska but that wouldn't change anything probably (assuming judgement would be based on lipsync and not on which lipsyn was chosen)
No matter how hard they try, nothing will ever top AS2. Best season hands down. Though I keep forgetting Adore quit and it breaks my heart everytime 😭

fun fact: season 8 of the main series was shorter than most because season 8 and all stars 2 had to air within the same year and production had to make it work.
they also wanted 12 queens for season 8 so that they could make to a 100 queens sharp, so the season would be logically shorter with less queens that most of the previous seasons
And we got 2 great seasons out of it! I actually think shorter seasons and a smaller cast works better.

People, the reason Jaremi (Phi Phi) isn't in this at all is because he has cut ties with the show and does not want to be associated with it. It isn't shade that he's not included, it was his choice.
The show owns the footage, I don’t think he gets a say in how they use it

I'll never understand how Phi Phi did better in the snatch game over Alyssa, they both had basic runways but Alyssa's Joan was EVERYTHING! Her responses to Ru and the other queens is perfection everytime.
Alyssa was funny, but all she really did was read off Joan Crawford quotes. You can even see Ru clock her shtick showing that it wasn't really that interesting by that point. Phi Phi actually played with the character a little and interacted with Ru. I think Phi Phi showed a little more creativity, and I say that as someone who didn't like Phi Phi on the show.

This season's 'why should you be crowned' was really the only slightly interesting one, Alaska and Katya's over-the-top speeches and Roxxxy's 'I really want you to crown me' is just so funny

Alaska's speech gets me every time. She is such a super fan. Trixie said that nobody loves drag or drag race more than Alaska. Loved that she won and has given us some of the most memorable moments in the show's history. Anusthing is possible.

It really was such a great speech. Normally they are so dramatic and depressing. I wish more people brought some humor into it. ASS2 is the only time I remember everyone trying something different and succeeding but Alaska was definitely the best one

this season did NOT disappoint at all. every cast member on it actually deserved to be there and they were all so entertaining. even though it was obvious Alaska was going to win the crown in the first couple episodes, they all at one point showed that they deserved to come out at top and win. no season has come close to being this incredible yet.
