@@JohnZWetmore Great that crane and ball is still in use; I wish UK hadn't outlawed this excellent demolition method through an overdose of health and safety.
Interesting subject. Thanks. We don't get to see a wrecking ball used much. This seems to go quite a bit faster than nibbling away with concrete shears. But with less control, it seems. Good photography, with a nice variation between closeups and wider shots. My only suggestion is I'd like to see a few more very wide shots to see how the crane reacts to all this abuse.
These seem to work their best when they are shaped like a rock candy sucker. The force is greater because there is less surface area for them to contact the work.
That place was built to take a punch. I wonder if there is a point where there is such a rats nest of rebar that the ball can no longer work effectively.
The piece of reinforced concrete towards the bottom of the screen at 1.21 looks like a person's head, seen from the left hand side, with eye, nose & mouth on the left, a strong jaw and and ear to the right. Seems a shame to smash it up really !
Nothing quite like a wrecking ball demolition, you're never quite sure what each strike will do, a game of anticipation.
Using a wrecking ball seems like a test of patience. :)
i know it's kinda randomly asking but does anyone know of a good place to watch new tv shows online ?
@Alberto Jackson flixportal :D
@Zayden Colt Thank you, I went there and it seems like a nice service :) I appreciate it!
@Alberto Jackson No problem =)
gotta love the wrecking ball! while i understand that it's slow and dusty, i sure do wish they'd use it more often!
I wish demo companies would use wrecking balls more often too. I gpt to see one used on a hospital while back. So fun seeing that ball swing!
Luv watching this stuff!
So relaxing to watch.
I havnt seen a wrecking ball in a long time.

Can I know the name of the demolition contractor?
Berg was the demolition contractor. I do not know if they subcontracted for the wrecking ball.
The Last Time I Seen A Wrecking Ball Was In The 1970s I Thought They Out Law Using That For Demolition ..
I think it outlawed in certain parts of America but still allowed in some states on special jobs .not positive but that's what I've heard
Why were they out law anyone know?
das ist mal ein super "planloser" Abriss mit der Birne. Ein riesen Schutthaufen in der Höhe,fest in einander verkeilt. Bravo...god Job !!🧱🚥

Thanks for the suggestion. I should have a chance to film some more next week before they finish, and I plan to try some new camera angles.

Was that a rat or squirrel scurrying around and jumping out ff the wrecking ball near the beginning?
Check out the video of a norwegian helicoptor use a wrecking ball on un stable cliff above a highway its badass
This is what you get when the operator is on an hourly contract
The poor man's high-reach CAT. (probably the lowest bidder)
got to be a faster way than this

At the end of the video the Building stand up again
they couldve used explosions for the demolition bc its faster-..
Concrete buildings need blowing up!, this will take forever as it just bounces off!
