Could Donald also have magical attributes like Gladstones? Instead of positive magic, Donald's would be negative. I can imagine Donald loosing his bad luck during a season finale and showing us just how capable he really is without his limiting factors.
Dude, if that's the case, he's OP as is. He survives and does all sorts of crap just with that kind of limiter, so if it gets taken away, he'll be more powerful than Gladstone ever was!
In a comic, it's actually shown that they were born opposites, and when it came for Gladstone's birthday, he became suddenly unlucky, and Donald, lucky.
I know in the comics, Gladstone’s luck is explained by his being born in Grandma Duck’s barn, which has a pair of symbols painted on it called Triple Distelfinks. The one on the front side invites good luck in, and the one on the back is inverted to keep bad luck out. Gladstone’s mother was also said to be very lucky, so it’s also possible that the luck is hereditary and was amplified by the Distelfinks as he was born. Given that the writers and showrunners love to pull from the comics universe for lore related to the Duck Family and Clan McDuck, I wouldn’t be surprised if they used a variation of this as the origin of Gladstone’s luck in the show. But given that they also love to subvert expectations, I wouldn’t be surprised if they had another explanation in mind, either!
Lordodragonss I know it’s likely not considered canon in this show, that’s why I said I wouldn’t be surprised if they had another explanation in mind. I just wanted to give the most commonly used story for the origin of Gladstone’s luck for those who may not be familiar with that part of the franchise.
You know, it's actually understandable why people would become villains or supervillains just because they lost everything they claimed made their whole lives a lot better. Also, The Phantom Blot was a minor character in Ducktales, so we don't really know much about him. ( Besides the fact that he became a villain because he lost everything he ever had ).
It seems to me that several of the characters have a sort of latent or passive magic that shapes or is shaped by their personalities. This magic is potentially hereditary, as we know from the show's primary source material, the Don Rosa comics, that Gladstone inherited a good portion of his luck from his mother. Scrooge distrusts magic because he sees it as a game cheat; a way to get something without putting in any real effort. What he doesn't understand, however, is that most magic is NOT like Gladstone's. It has to be channeled through the user's will, and thus controlling and utilizing it takes hard work. Scrooge's ability to resist and fight back against magic used in this way seems to demonstrate that he has some latent magic of his own, bound to his willpower and inherited from Clan McDuck. Donald inherited the McDuck willpower as well, and seems to be resistant to many types of magic (including luck magic) just like his uncle.
Anybody else notice the fact that Gladstone’s suit became a faded green for a bit after his luck was stolen? That makes me think that color is his talisman
this version of The Phantom Blot reminds me of the Hunter of Disney's Gargoyles both are villains who are after a villainous female that they considered them monster and their race as well, they also seem to have died at multiple times during their many bouts only to seem to come back alive stronger and smarter then before almost as if they are a different person and building specific anti-type weapons to kill the specific entity of their hatred and the ambiguous pasting different eras of time of the story of their rivalry all need is conformation that the phantom blot is not one person but a bloodline of magic racists that hate the de spell with a passion that also want to destroy all magic
Also i just love the whole thing where lena is like "i have the magic of friendship!" And Magica is literally like "gross" i just love her reactions to most things. Specially the friendship related stuff
I think gladstones talisman could be his green suit as when his luck is taken his suit loses it's colour. I think that gladstone is unknowillingy magic, while it is tangible he isn't aware of the magical properties. my theory is that everyone has an arua that is created by there own persnal magic but are not aware of it but those that are can manipulate it, scrooge could have decreased aging due to his arua as even in his old age he is preety athletic but as a teenager as we saw in the fountain of youth episode he was really athletic.
Weird thing is that Gladstone his magic can have seemingly drastic effects on the world but Gladstone doesn't seem to own a magical Talisman through which he can channel it. Also Gladstone was an absolute riot the entire episode.
Great video. I love this episode so much. And you know, the magic Lena used in the end was the wonderful, powerful, beautiful, incredible and amazing magic of friendship. That’s a My little pony: friendship is magic reference. And if you don’t know what that show is, then I suggest you look it up and watch it. If you do, trust me you’re going to love it. And if theses shows had a crossover, that would be awesome!!!!! Anyway great job with this video, I can’t wait to see more of your great work.🦆❤️🦄🤩🤯
this video is rlly interesting! and the part about gladstone being able to control his luck is really interesting, but i think it'd be hard for him to like,, *connect* with an object since he doesnt really get connected? in general? there isnt really a reason too in general, since his luck could just replace objects, and with people there's a very likely chance that they're just using him for his luck. and he probably hasn't been *given* something by anyone else the only way i could really see it is if gladstone lost his luck for like. a while. and actually had to earn stuff and be able to trust people. (and then get his luck back eventually, i guess)
Has me curious to see how they'll introduce Morgana Macawber & what they'll narrow down her magic to since it didn't seem to have many limits in the show Darkwing Duck, I almost want to see it be some sort of transformation magic given there was that one time she accidentally turned DW into jello but at the same time, don't see it turning out like that. I'm sure they had her in the back of their minds when making the magic system so if she does show up at any point in the series, they'll have something figured out for her.
So I think Phantom blot is a unconventional artificer. Artificer is like an alchymist's blacksmith that come crates weapons that could store or boost magic. That's the best way For me to sum it up but the best way to look it up maybe watch a DnD tutorial on UA-cam for artificer or pick up a DnD book.
It kind of irked me when Scrooge's reason for hating magic was stated. Because, according to him, magic is a shortcut to bypass hard work, which he values. What irks me is that he assumes magic is a shortcut, that it's easy. But, if fantasy literature has told me anything, it's that, just because something is magic does not mean it requires no effort; and that any time anyone attempts to take shortcuts in magic, it backfires on them. Just ask Mickey. He has first hand experience with this sort of thing. It's ironic that Scrooge should hate magic because he assumes it's easy, when he hasn't even tried it himself; ergo, not putting in the work to attempt it. He demonizes something he doesn't understand, which is...very human of him (ironically). And, it's also ironic that he should hate it, when he also values the notion of "work smarter, not harder." Well, magic IS working smarter. Working smarter helps to bypass unnecessary hard work that would strain one too much. And in addition to that, his stance on "work smarter not harder" kind of contradicts his value in hard work.
As Magica said in season 1: " *It's just magic, ok?* " 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Galdstone is a womanizer (in Italian comics he try to "steal" Daisy to Donald), so maybe we won't see a development of this relationship with Magica. Talking about Gladstone fortune, it is always represented with a supernatural origin: for Don Rosa it was a legacy from his mother *Daphne Duck* (who was born the day when a painter painted a symbol of prosperity on grandma and Granpa Duck's farm), in Italy is simple the person who the goddess Fortune (also call the "Patch Goddess") prefer above all (there is not a canon. I a comics simply Fortune can't help Donald because the Bad-Luck enjoys torture him, so Fortune is obligated to favourite Gladstone)
While the magical aspect of the episode is cool and all. I'm personally interested in the superhero team Ducktales seems to be developing. I mean we've got Gizmo Duck, Darkwing, Astro Boyd, and now Lena the sorceress. Is this all leading up to a new version of the Justice Ducks? And if so will it be just an episode or will they actually make a spin-off this time?
Here's a Link to a comic that will help you understand more about Gladstone from Ducktales jolleycomics.com/DoodleComics/Introducktion/ Enjoy and hopefully it's not going to mess up your experience with Gladstone in the Reboot.
She also seemed to retain SOME kind of power. Very very vague powers, cause I’m pretty sure they just said ‘she’s lost MOST of her powers’ in the Glomtales episode. Idk of her whole ‘smokescreen teleport’ thing was HER, and a natural power of hers, or if she just had purple smoke bombs to hand (but we just didn’t see her hold any.) Idk. Also in ‘the phantom and the sorceress’ we see her manipulate shadows in ways that just CAN’T be done with her hand gestures by wiggling her fingers and sort of ‘projecting’ a shadow up the wall? Again, don’t know if it was just creative license or if this was a small remainder of her power, but it’s something to think about.
Well her feathers are green so she has her magic back I think Scrooge dislikes magic because he sees it as a shortcut. Scrooge believes in hard work and ingenuity to make money. Any sort of shortcut towards earning money would be something Scrooge is against. Look at Gladstone he didn’t earn his fortune through hard work , his innate magic luck got it for him. Gladstone’s lazy even sleazy way of acquiring his fortune goes against everything Scrooge stands for.
Ducktales got a little weird. I was kinda hoping they would've just stuck with the adventurer storyline (Indiana Jones type). Not that this isn't a cool twist, but there are a lot of shows with the same sort of premise. Maybe I just haven't watched enough.
Not quite yet, but if you liked that humor we also did a 'owl house poorly explained' video that is pretty similar: ua-cam.com/video/ISIne0AZXZs/v-deo.html&t We'll be doing more soon for other shows as well.
I have the craziest dummest thought ever, and I already acknowledge how dumb and probably not a thing it is. What if Scrooge thinks that magic is bad because his Number one Dime turned him into "Uncle Moneybags" as shown in the original Ducktales? Or at least, a variation of Santa Claus which would explain his hatred of the guy in red.
Eh, it makes sense enough for what it is, it's clearly a superhero alter ego type, and she'll almost certainly go back to the cool baggy sweater whenever she's not actively blasting/channeling large magic

This channel is amazing! Too bad I can't support you guys on patron TnT
Scrooge: hates magic
Also Scrooge: literally doesn't age
yeah if it wouldn't for magic,he would have been dead along time ago
Could Donald also have magical attributes like Gladstones? Instead of positive magic, Donald's would be negative. I can imagine Donald loosing his bad luck during a season finale and showing us just how capable he really is without his limiting factors.
Dude, if that's the case, he's OP as is. He survives and does all sorts of crap just with that kind of limiter, so if it gets taken away, he'll be more powerful than Gladstone ever was!
You might be on to something. In kingdom hearts, Donald is a black mage, able to inflict offensive magic onto his enemies
In a comic, it's actually shown that they were born opposites, and when it came for Gladstone's birthday, he became suddenly unlucky, and Donald, lucky.
@@moemuxhagi Legit? That's epic!
YAS

That just Don Rosa canon.
There was also comics that point out Gladstone stealed Donald luck (that why it has double)
Lordodragonss I know it’s likely not considered canon in this show, that’s why I said I wouldn’t be surprised if they had another explanation in mind. I just wanted to give the most commonly used story for the origin of Gladstone’s luck for those who may not be familiar with that part of the franchise.
And in one comic, Magika loved Gastone, when she transformed a girl (for a difficult penny-theft plan)
Lena: Because we have the most powerful magic of all!
Twilight Sparkle: I'm so proud!
that's what i thought
So I'm not the only one who immediately thought of Twilight upon seeing that scene!
Sunset shimmer is proud of Lena. You get an internet cookie if you get what I’m referencing.
I can’t help to feel bad for the phantom blot. He lost his village because of Magica. The poor guy, he must have lost his friends and family.😢
nice to see Lena fight against magica feds spesd
I though I was the only one who felt bad for him! :,(

If this is true we got an another magic family in our hands
Was first svtfoe??
This would make Donald being a mage in KH make so much more sense.
Great to see get her full use of her magical powers
Anybody else notice the fact that Gladstone’s suit became a faded green for a bit after his luck was stolen? That makes me think that color is his talisman
Love the video 😁 keep up the good work 😄
How the hell did I end up here so fast when I didn't even search this channel up?
So what your implying is Friendship is ma...OOOOOOOHHHHH!
First it was Ultra instinct shaggy, then it was ultra instinct anne, now its ultra instinct lena
Love magica when she is in any episode and lena too. Catherine Tate is BEST
this version of The Phantom Blot reminds me of the Hunter of Disney's Gargoyles both are villains who are after a villainous female that they considered them monster and their race as well, they also seem to have died at multiple times during their many bouts only to seem to come back alive stronger and smarter then before almost as if they are a different person and building specific anti-type weapons to kill the specific entity of their hatred and the ambiguous pasting different eras of time of the story of their rivalry all need is conformation that the phantom blot is not one person but a bloodline of magic racists that hate the de spell with a passion that also want to destroy all magic
I really enjoyed this episode, i especially loved Lena's new look and eye color, but now that Magica has her powers back, she is once again a threat.
Also i just love the whole thing where lena is like "i have the magic of friendship!" And Magica is literally like "gross" i just love her reactions to most things. Specially the friendship related stuff

I wonder if this same system applies to Raven from DC Comics or Doctor Strange from Marvel
Phantom blot: How can you hold this much power?!?
Lena: We're holding hands
Gotg joke for yah.
"Mystery with her history." Great rhyme! 👍
Sorry I had to pause the video because I didn’t want no spoils.
Thank you for letting me know there was a new episode. 👍🏻
Now onto the video.
Character development on Lena is incredible 😃
WAIT didn't they already the fandom kinda develop something with Glad Stone and Magica before this episode was even a thing.
Yes. I had just discovered this ship and I'm all for it.
The MLP jokes are strong with this episode...
lena is a great character

Imagine phantom blot coming to the boiling isles
If Magica's brother, Poe appears, I hope his magic color is either gray or crimson red.
How am i this early-

That grey skinned beagle is the first Ducktales character with magic powers to not be a duck
This is random but do ya'll have a crush on a DuckTales character?
Mines Louie.
LENA... Crush
LOUIE... Idol

We’d love to see see

Like the new story!Like lena!
As Magica said in season 1: " *It's just magic, ok?* " 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Basically friendship is magic and bracelets channel it
I could be misremembering but didn't magica use her magic without the talisman in the episode where glomgold makes his own family?
She had a few magical items handy for that particular episode. But she still preferred having her amulet/wand back.
She also seemed to retain SOME kind of power. Very very vague powers, cause I’m pretty sure they just said ‘she’s lost MOST of her powers’ in the Glomtales episode. magic needs to have rules because saying someone can basically do whatever because magic is lazy righting
Personally I hope to see a magic fight between lena and magica resulting in magica.... Losing easily xD
Also she got dunked on!!!
I kinda feel bad for the shadow guy tbh
Well her feathers are green so she has her magic back
I think Scrooge dislikes magic because he sees it as a shortcut. Scrooge believes in hard work and ingenuity to make money. Any sort of shortcut towards earning money would be something Scrooge is against.

Scrooge thinks using magic is lazy, even though the recent episode demonstrate it takes time and effort to master it.
Power of Friendship
I wanna see Merlock as the big bad of a possible season 4.
well i just hope ducktales 2017 will get a S4
I love the video
lena power makeup
LENA CRISIS, Make Up
Ducktales got a little weird. I was kinda hoping they would've just stuck with the adventurer storyline (Indiana Jones type). Not that this isn't a cool twist, but there are a lot of shows with the same sort of premise. Maybe I just haven't watched enough.
cool
Ducktales Woo-oo
Ever thought of making a part 2 to the crimes of Luz Noceda

ua-cam.com/video/ISIne0AZXZs/v-deo.html&t
We'll be doing more soon for other shows as well.
I wish I have luck magic XD
Friendship is Magic!
XD HAAHAHAHAHAA
Is it just me or is Lena more powerful becouse she amd her friebds are a coven of 3 witches which amplifies the magic?
Give me MLP Friendship Magic any day of the week. There's something insincere about the way it's presented in Ducktales.
I personally found it very sincere, even with the bathos. They did it in a way that felt real, even if cheesy.
I have the craziest dummest thought ever, and I already acknowledge how dumb and probably not a thing it is. What if Scrooge thinks that magic is bad because his Number one Dime turned him into "Uncle Moneybags" as shown in the original Ducktales? Eh, it makes sense enough for what it is, it's clearly a superhero alter ego type, and she'll almost certainly go back to the cool baggy sweater whenever she's not actively blasting/channeling large magic
