Aphelios was probably the deck i had the most fun playing in lor of all time, so im happy that he is back. Though i get that he is kinda toxic, but without the broken 2 cost summons its probably not as bad.
Swim just nailed how I feel, sometimes I just miss old/meme decks that I've played and went back to try them, and all of them pretty much unplayable TT
It’s funny seeing peoples reactions as I haven’t time to play since the arcade event started and have missed this whole yordles and bandle city meta. I wish they could have given pyke something like a buff to rippers bay changing the top card to lurk so he was playable without shurima.
@ML is plagiarized game I still saw him a lot 6 weeks later. I don't think that's normal. Granted I'm only at gold rank but still. The copium was strong with this one.
I still don't understand the limitation for locking things 2 weeks in advance. They said it was because of the mobile stores but I'm not sure I buy that honestly. I've been developing for mobile for years and I can tell you that an update takes at most 2 days nowadays. It feels more like is just part of their process (probably QA) which is fair, but hopefully something they can improve.
It’s not a hard limitation. They’ve hot fixed-balanced things before, but it makes sense to announce big changes early in order to let people who do enjoy the current meta time to play it.
Honestly kinda glad I quit this game it just feels so boring to play now and these changes are so slow and rarely worthwhile oh well off to tft or something.

Hmm. Yeah probably won't be back until the 27th. The decks I enjoy playing just get ran over. Maybe I'll see if traps are playable. Or maybe Azir. Underwhelming.
I feel like they should give spells atune or a similar keyword. Spell mana basically has a value of .5 mana and it would help find the in between for spells that are good or terrible with 1 mana like Twin Deciples
@@100organicfreshmemes5 it's mana you can't use on units or landmarks and it also costs more to get it out in the first place. There are many disadvantages of costing one more mana and having attune, but in the end you're spending the same amount of mana. Say for example if Twin deciples was a 3 mana spell with atune. You can't buff your 1 drop at turn two. You can't use that 1 spell mana you just got for another 1 drop. However, at the end of the day, you have spent 2 mana for it. There doesn't seem to be too big of a difference if you were sitting on 3 spell mana anyways, but it has very clear disadvantages that could balance out the fact that it's pretty cheap
@@queendread4427 Do you understand how broken it would be if spells were able to refund mana, for champs like Heimer and Karma? Even if it's a single mana gem.

Buffed my favorite champion, sick. It'll make him a lot easier to play early, especially against fast decks where you really want as many chances at getting lifesteal as possible, but couldn't afford to bank mana. Not gamebreaking, but it'll matter sometimes. Most of the decks I ran with him aimed to level him really fast with gems or breaks anyways, but I'l take anything. Particularly happy that they nerfed pantheon, since he felt like a better viktor most of the time. Edit: Calculated creations buff is huge though! 6 copies of iterative, and it doesnt need to target a ballistic bot on board.
Victor's definitely way better, but imo it's not enough. Victor wasn't just bad. He was AWFUL. We're talkin 41% wr bad. Sure, he might go up to 46%, which is huge relatively, but it's still not good. I wish the Hexcore upgrade was focus speed so that the opponent doesn't have all the time in the world to prepare, but it's something. I hope I'm wrong because I love Viktor. I'm not a fan of the UX update. It's a waste of time on their part. We have oracle's eye. We don't need the game dumbed down any further. It's kinda insulting the more I think about it.
@@kodoy Maybe I'm alone in this but, I think it's insulting because it's calling us stupid. While the eye shows the end result, this takes it a step further and shows you all work on each step, in real time. Ya know, cuz we can't do simple math. Ya know, I didn't think that 8/8 would kill my 3/3, but thanks to the new UX, I understand. Thanks Riot, for spending time on this much needed visual.
@@RealTrentertainment You're looking at this entirely the wrong way. This type of thing is not implemented because devs think you can't do basic maths, it's there to improve clarity and functionality (mainly for newer players i think, ones who are not used to the eye yet). while it's true you can check whatever the new UX is telling you on the eye or do maths, it also expedites the process. LoR is not meant to test your ability to subtract and add, that's not what the game is about, so the faster and more conveniently that you can get that information, the faster you can think about your play, your action. It's the same reason why people still wish for a number displaying how many cards they hold in hand - it's not that they can't count, it's that this is not a skill the game is supposed to test. Obviously everyone can count. But it's annoying, it's not part of the game's challenge - just wastes time. Furthermore the people who work on improving the UX are definitely not the same people that work on card design/balance at Riot. So if you were implying they wasted time on this feature while they should be doing something more important, that's also a misguided sentiment
@@kodoy That is a fair point, I suppose. Personally, I would prefer they clarify some of the card text. I wish the text was as clear as it is in mtg. 2:40 As a mono Xerath(shurima) player, I'm happy to see that he was so wrong about that.
The only thing keeping this deck in check after sundisc buff was the fact that Azir is too slow for Xerath deck. so it's better to just try to 1 turn flip Renekton with unleashed energy or play countdown reduction. But it isn't nearly as consistent compare to now.
kinda feels like they're being lazy with the stat changes instead of actually good buff/nerfs
My favorite deck, Targon's Peak, has 3 She Who Wanders in it. This is a delightful change since we keep getting low attack champions!
Aphelios was probably the deck i had the most fun playing in lor of all time, so im happy that he is back. Though i get that he is kinda toxic, but without the broken 2 cost summons its probably not as bad.
He also lost the Temple
Swim just nailed how I feel, sometimes I just miss old/meme decks that I've played and went back to try them, and all of them pretty much unplayable TT
It’s funny seeing peoples reactions as I haven’t time to play since the arcade event started and have missed this whole yordles and bandle city meta. I wish they could have given pyke something like a buff to rippers bay changing the top card to lurk so he was playable without shurima.
Ambush is really good for viktor elusive decks
I'm probably going to spend this patch almost exclusively with viktor
I'm not surprised they didn't buff Udyr. It kept seeing play despite being bad lol.
Nah fam, they hate on current Udyr, even in LoL. I don't really think they'll buff him until we get the new Udyr in LoL
@Enlightment XV A possible explanation. He's also just relatively new still.
Because he's new
@ML is plagiarized game I still saw him a lot 6 weeks later. I don't think that's normal.
Granted I'm only at gold rank but still. The copium was strong with this one.
@@pango4425 that's because people love udyr and wanna make him work. that's the only reason he is seeing play
If runeterra can't keep up, master duel wins and riot won't like losing profits
my problem is not the meta. the situation has changed. I am having more fun getting OTKd in Yu-Gi-Oh masterduel than anything in runeterra. I want to play runeterra but almost all new cards recently haven't been for me.

You can't pull anything with crescendum
@@protoss5758 I'm aware it's random based on region now, but telescope being 3 mana removes it from the card pool completely, where as if it had stayed at 2, it would have been a posibility.
This patch can best be described as "good but missed some obvious changes." Why no Yordle in Arms nerfs? Why no Udyr buffs? Happy that Aphelios + Viktor is a viable deck now but that's kinda it.
Most people clicked off the page as soon as they saw the yordles and tree text.
Swim said Yasuo without laughing 🤔
Spells with Attune makes no real sense to me, you're just getting the mana refunded.
@@Nwordsoup no it's not broken in the slightest if the original cost is increased as a result, which is what I've been implying in the first place. If I were to balance Twin Disciples, it'd cost 3 mana and refund one spell mana.
@@queendread4427 It would be good for Karma because she actually would get 2 gems back after turn 10 and Heimer would get better turrets.
Quicksand seems pretty strong now
It actually is. I've been running this card as a triple in mono because it makes leveling Renekton hilariously easy and is most of the time simply a better Hush. Seeing this card grow even stronger makes me kinda wanna pog.
Always has been IMO. Been playing Ziggs/Taliyah for a couple weeks and it is frequently the MVP of the deck
Flashtraps still QoL problems. Like being able to draw 3 traps and they all deal dmg to a 1/1 instead of moving overhead dmg towards another random target.
In short the game is so toxic now, 70 luck and 30 skill. But, good thing is, maybe Riot wants their game to be this way, so they actually succeed in doing so.
It's a card game lul. It has *ALWAYS* been more about luck than skill.
@@exu7325 then maybe I am too old school haha. Cause the game was the opposite 1 year ago. U still have card like rex that is luck base, but u can PLAY around those because they are in the card poll. As a lee sin main, these patch notes feel absolutely devastating.
Akshan Lee Sin might work, but as a control main likewise. Darkness received 3 nerfs, nothing rose up to fill the control void and Brandle Tree still exists. I have more hope for Hearthstone's expansion than for whatever is April 27 in LoR.
having not really played the game for several months due to classes and personal stuff, it’s fucking wild to hear that darkness is a powerful deck lmaooo
Like... I get not buffing Udyr, he's new and probably will need more than a stat increase. But Bandle Tree and YIA have been in the game for months, and they've been consistently screwing the game since. How can they NOT have something for them after all this time?
Was the pyke nerf necessary?
Yes, i hate lurk. They are going to fast
@@kingki1953 but was Pyke the issue? All the stuff I looked at showed more issues with the ramp potential of the archetype mixed with Call The Pack+Rek’Sai procs.
Yes
lurk can burn in hell, i dont care how good it actually is, its such a braindead fucking archetype that plays a card game with the grace and subtlety of a sledgehammer to the cranium
Pyke spell being removal that you just have to be "if they have it they have it" a lot of the time is rough
Would you still recommend running 3x Telescope in your Fae Combo lists?
As for Calculated Creations, I mean eh. It's okay. Typically you want to use Iterative on better things than a Ballistic Bot, but Creations isn't conditional so I may consider it.

Oh no viktor buff. Now viktor in PoTC gonna be harder.
Why is this Valorant streamer talking about the Lor patch notes
I'm not a fan of the UX update. It's a waste of time on their part. We have oracle's eye. We don't need the game dumbed down any further. It's kinda insulting the more I think about it.
How does this dumb down the game, it just helps with clarity especially for newer players. how is it INSULTING rofl NOTHING CHANGED
@@kodoy just wait until spaghetti code stuff happens...
I'm also afraid of machines doing all our calculations and humans just get dumber. However, I'm sure I'm in the minority. Maybe it's a sign that I look for a new game.
