I don't think that's a legend, I saw a clip from a video showing a guy with the doll and he found a sharp blade stabling the head from the torso.

A couple years ago, I got fascinated by Morso from this, and did some research about him and where he was from.
He was actually intended to look creepy in order to teach kids to not judge someone by appearance.
And after watching a few episodes with English subs, he is actually super wholesome.
He acts like a wise little old man. He also gives me vibes that he would frequently bake pastries. In the third episode, he even gets a postcard from his mom.
And he’s actually self aware that some find him scary, someone said that there is a scene where he wails at himself in the mirror, but I have yet to see it.
Honestly I love the little guy, you can find some episodes here on UA-cam. There’s three seasons, but I only found the rest on a paid Finnish streaming site.
Small Update: Ok I found this pic a few months ago, it’s low quality because *cough* Facebook. But it shows someone holding a life sized Morso doll/puppet, even putting his glasses on him. Morso is so tiny! He’s like the size of a cereal box. He would use a stool and just barely be able to open a door. I’m sorry but I can’t help but fawn over his size. In the first episode when he arrives at Donkey’s house, even his own suitcase is bigger than him.

I wonder if anyone who grew up watching Morso feel like he is a lovely person or not.

Fun Fact: Mr. Blobby wasn’t meant to be a kids character. More-so the opposite, actually! Mr. Blobby originally was meant to be a prank on celebs who appeared on the show to mess with/embarrass them, pretending to have brought them onto the show. They intentionally designed him to be everything creepy to kids (bugged-out eyes, the distorted voice, those damn teeth, etc). Despite that, kids actually liked him for whatever reasons. His appearance on The Big Fat Quiz of the 90’s perfectly encapsulates both how much he creeped out British kids from the 90’s (specifically guest-contestant Jack Whitehall) and his performers genuinely hilarious timing and slapstick.

Fun Fact: In a UA-cam video of a Q&A section with former Wiggles member Greg Page, he said that the main reason why the Wiggles TV show decided to use the infamous Wiggles puppets was because that they wanted to do something new and different since The Wiggles didn't want to be stuck with doing the same thing over and over again.
But eventually they ended up not using them anymore after finding out that these puppets ended up scaring a lot of people, including kids, who were watching The Wiggles at the time.
Understandable.

As a Frenchman who grew up watching Téléchat (which is pronounced "telesha", by the way) I can tell that the baby was one of the most disturbing part of the show, and the phone was a good one too. But overall, every talking objects that appeared in this show looked and sounded very creepy.
What scares me more is a puppet show with no humans at all, it’s like their own world where they are alive and have no one controlling them, that just gives me the chills

Rat'afak is actually a really good character. This show was created to help kids going through war and make them happier during the dark times. The clip where it's dancing around is not the actual show. Two men had found the puppet and used it to make a creepy video. The origin is actually heartwarming because the puppet told kids about how to stay safe and what's good or bad.

How is nobody talking about Sasuga Minami? She is by far the scariest imo.
The fact that a kids show had an innocent looking older woman with those explicit messages on her is creepy and breaks the boundaries of kids show the most out of these. I feel like the actor for Sasuga probably wasn't aware how bad this is and it is really weird why this is even a thing that exists.
Only the Japanese would think that was appropriate.
It wasn't mentioned in the video, but Sasuga did learn what those explicit messages meant and apologized in 2014 for donning them in a children's show. So you were right in that she had no idea what those phrases meant.
In Japan, English is seen as "cool" so it's not uncommon for people to wear shirts with English phrases, even if that English is poorly translated or, in this case, very vulgar.

I'm a victim of one of these traumatizing creatures as well, Carbuncle to be precise. I still wonder how on earth a group of adults could think that a severely disfigured troll would be a nice character in an educational show that almost all children were forced to watch at school! What made him even worse was that he could transform into a one-eyed fish that would unexpectedly pop up everywhere. And when they transformed him to make him more "child friendly", they _still_ didn't step away from the concept of a severely disfigured troll. His character was quite nightmarish too: evil and lonely with a low, growly voice; very, _very_ dark and most certainly _not_ something you'd want in a show for 7(-ish)-year-olds!

A kids’ tv show character who was once loved by the young audience gets taken off the air and is replaced by a cheap knockoff which unlike most knockoffs is received quite well by critics. In a fit of rage and jealousy, the trashed character goes on a killing spree and will stop at NOTHING to get his revenge…

Some info about Morso. The name of the show is basically "A donkey, a morso and a cat". It centers around a donkey who's afraid of a fictitious species called morsos. The show is based on a series of Finnish childrens books, in which Morso was illustrated as a rat. However the creators of the tv show intentionally made Morso a whole different scary looking creature, to teach that you shouldn't judge anyone by their looks.

The only one in this list that I ever heard of was Freddie the Flute, and nobody that I knew ever thought he was creepy. We knew that all Sid and Marty Kroft characters were meant to be silly, both in appearance and in behavior, so nobody got creeped out about them.
Also, on Pufnstuf, Jimmy was not shipwrecked on a deserted island when the boat took him away, he had run from his school to escape some bullies and was accidently knocked from the boat when the witch changed it, and it attacked him, and he finally made it to Living Island and was rescued by Pufnstuf. That was when he was effectively "shipwrecked".
The walrus is the one that gave me 1000 nightmares when I was a weeny child. Fast forward 7 years later and watching this, I said to myself “Oh I Remember That!” But I haven’t seen that episode in nearly a decade now, so I’m still frightened of it

Call me crazy, but I think the “Mummenschanz” are fascinating, the way the just make they’re masks into any particular shape and sized face is soothing to watch.

I remember seeing a video tape of Peppermint Park and thinking the Earnie puppet was adorable and while the show never ended up catching my full interest I do remember enjoying some of the characters and their personalities. (I’d like to add that the video I saw was likely attached to a bunch of recorded children’s shows or at the very least an unofficial tape with only one of two episodes)
Edit: the tape that my mom used to own for me has since been sold at a garage sale when my family last moved

I grew up watching the Wiggles and I can say for certain the puppets are the worst thing I had the misfortune of seeing as a kid. My dad told me that apparently sometimes he had to fast forward the VHS- not just because they scared me, but because they scared him and my mother too. I don't remember a lot of my childhood, but those puppets honestly just don't wanna leave- I'm glad to hear that younger generations were spared from them.
I thankfully never had to deal with Mr Blobby- but I remember a tv show did a skit about him being some sort of godzilla like monster- which genuinely was kind of weird to witness- British TV is weird, man.

The walrus that haunted my nightmares was the one from Alice in Wonderland. I had actually forgot about it until I started reading an Alice in Wonderland retelling called "Alice" where the walrus commands his men to bring people he wants to him so he can eat them.

Morso is from a Finnish children's tv show named "Aasi, Morso ja Mouru". And he was actually intentionally made to be scary. The show was about accepting differences and that you shouldn't be prejudiced against anyone. Morso might've looked really fucking scary, but he was actually really kind, wise and calm.

The moomins Groke was just lonely. I remember watching these episodes and being terrified but in one episode we see the Groke saving one of the main characteres from a fire. Everyone was scared of her cause she was dangerous and just wanted friends btw the show is swedish/finnish show

Yall are lucky to have grown up on those Moomins versions. The soviet one (about the comet) was with puppets and was generally very unsettling and had major anxiety vibes. There were a few songs I wrote that were good songs that I can't find anywhere. Have no clue what they did with them. We never got to see the show before we wrote the music.
