The hot dog and onion thing has it's purpose...it informs us that Albrecht and Sarah has become a close friend after the tragedy... And it was like a surrogate father and his little girl...it was cute and heart warming.
Brandon Lee the man, the myth, the legend. RIP Brandon Lee. His last film he tragically died on set of this movie. Anyone who thinks this movie is boring must think all movies need to have the action of a Rambo movie to keep their attention. I was in my mid teens when this movie came out and I enjoyed the movie and the soundtrack too.
Sounds a bit nitpicky to me. I think it’s lazy using the 90’s as a negative against the film, of course it’s gonna be 90’s the film was pretty much built around the music and culture of the time which is it’s biggest positive and considering the cinematic slop we’ve had in the past decade makes me appreciate films such as The Crow a lot more
Just gave my opinion. Take it or leave it. The culture and music of the time can’t make up for bad writing, sloppy storytelling, and poor editing. The cool factor rules here and that’s the best thing about this movie to me.
@@midlevelmedia To be fair, some of the bad edits were probably down to Brandon dying during production and the studio rushing reshoots to get it released quickly. I recognize that the movie has its faults - as most movies do - but I love it. I confess to still seeing the scenes you think of as corny as still cool. Maybe that says something about my maturity level, ha ha. Proyas' Dark City is also one of my favorite science fiction movies, one that's never got the attention it deserves, in my opinion. I think a lot of great older movies will be increasingly overlooked over time, not just because of the obvious fact that they're old, but because younger audiences today, who tend to like crap, are downvoting and scoring low all our old favorites in all the places that people go to now to look for recommendations, resulting in them falling increasingly out of favor with the general public. (Not including you in that group, by the way, and not even necessarily including The Crow or Dark City among "great" movies, just making the general observation while it's on my mind.)
How is it lazy to say the 90’s is a negative. Because most 90’s movies were bad. It seems like you’re just stuck in the 90’s and don’t want your someone to have an opinion
@@supertrexandroidx I definitely thought about that. I’m sure it wasn’t easy to cut together scenes after Brandon’s passing. It’s probably the reason why we didn’t get a lot to establish the relationship between him and his girl in the beginning. Could have used that honestly.

This film to me is one of the greatest action films ever made, and definitely in my top 10, if not top 5, favorite films of all time. Lightening in a bottle with this one, at least in my opinion. Not a mess in the LEAST. I pre-ordered from DiabolikDVD and cant wait to see it again.
Crow 2 is awesome. Unfortunately people were never able to accept it due to not having Brandon. But the performances are excellent, especially iggy pop, the direction is bolder, uniquely dynamic, the colors vibrant. Sure the plot is similar, but it should be. The original seems drab in comparison, although top dollar is definitely a better villain.
@@reginaldforthright805 out of all the sequels, City of Angels is definitely the best, but it's FAR behind the quality of the original. What? The crow is one of my favourite movies, how can you say that, i think its aged perfectly.it captures the 1990s grunge, gothic exceptionally well. the thing that i will criticise, is the scenes cut down in places. With the complete omission of the skull cowboy. Lots of other incidental stuff too. Especially the shootout sequence. It has a genuinely haunting feel too. It's like Brandon conveys the character too well for me.

Thanks for the review. The Crow just does not hit the same way as an adult. It comes off as kind of corny and has not aged well. Also, watching movies that give you a dark feeling are not a good thing. The Crow movie, like the comic book, has really great visuals. In terms of style, dialogue, and themes, it is not very good. Still, I would love to look at it in 4k, but I do not have a 4k player.
You appreciate the film without enjoying it to the extent of the fanbase. We all do that. It's not wrong, it's just...unusual for a film like this. Paramount may be stepping up their mastering game, but they still suck ass at cover art. Every release of this 4K is underwhelming compared to the original Miramax DVD set. I don't know why so many studio releases have cover art that doesn't match the film's aesthetic.
It really sucks that Brandon Lee died making it. When I was a kid, I thought that part where he's skewered on that pointy fence post thing was his real life death. I think older kids/teens were spreading that bs around.
I thought The Crow was overrated as a kid. It's worth watching/owning for sure, but it's not a favorite. I'm waiting for it to hit around $10 before I get it.
The only thing they should have done is digitally erase the wire that is seen when one of the bad guys falls in the meeting/massacre scene. Too much grain, strange color at times and even vertical stripes in a few shots on one corner of the frame. An overrated botched transfer.
The Crow aged like wine,it’s great. And I’m here for it.
Disagree with you, Ken. I was a bit older than you and I saw it in theaters. Still love this film.

Glad I watched it, but not one I'll be picking up as cannot see myself ever wanting to watch this again...
After hearing how much Ken loved the crow 😉 can't wait hear his review of the crow remake
I probably won’t bother. Lol
Oh I’m m exacted for the remake
@@YoufailedatlifeWhy? It looks like dogshit.🤢
Love this film. So glad the 4k transfer was fine right 😅👍
Great film. Can’t wait to get the steelbook
Can’t wait to receive it!
CROW with the Gothic feeling reminds me of Batman...
That being said,
I wish Brandon Lee would OF LIVED...
So he could have made a TRILOGY,
of BATMAN moves...
Gutted i waited to buy this steelbook its sold out now as you said but i did buy the abyss true lies and aliens on 4k so had to wait great vid pal
Getting my copy next week
I love this movie . i gotta get the 4k now.
It’s being rereleased in the cinemas so imma hold off on my first watch
Kenny this movie is good u can’t get enjoyable movies like that in today cinema and new crow is too much towards John wick style film and new guy is a great actor that will turn out to be like nightmare of elm sr mistake.
This is better than most of the garbage that is churned out of the M she U
But it’s not better than most of the movies of the year it came out. I’m not comparing it to modern films by saying it feels 90s. I love 90s films, but some age better than others.
@@midlevelmedia I agree. This is a genre film, I view it in terms of comic book film. For me it is in the top ten of comic book movies. I'm looking forward to this remaster.
Ken I love you're channel man but hearing you say it's ok not the best kind of disappoints me man but you're just saying how you feel So I get it I want the Crow on 4k. I'm going to see the new Crow movie but I'm not looking forward to it
Damn you are looking cool dude. Love the new look.
This is the perfect horror comedy
The TV movie and show and salvation are the ones that I will always say are better but I enjoy the whole series
love your t-shirt
Thanks for the review. The Crow just does not hit the same way as an adult. It comes off as kind of corny and has not aged well. Also, watching movies that give you a dark feeling are not a good thing.
The Crow movie, like the comic book, has really great visuals. In terms of style, dialogue, and themes, it is not very good.
Still, I would love to look at it in 4k, but I do not have a 4k player.
Hits the same way for and my wife!🤷♂️ Guess it depends on the individual.
Yea Warner Brothers giving us a special feature and not including a Bluray 😂😂 what a joke that company is 🚯
You appreciate the film without enjoying it to the extent of the fanbase.
Crow is an awesome movie. Cult classic!
Where is the director's cut? So much extra footage that should be restored to the film.
We’re lucky to get the version released today honestly, not every film has a director cut.
@@blackphilipalvarez1305 One could only hope...
Paramount >>> James Cameron
LOL
When it comes to 4Ks--who isn't? ^^
Anddddd this aged like milk since Paramount DNRd Once Upon A Time In The West literally a week later.
It was filmed in my state of nc
your opinion is..sorry bs
Nope. It’s actually my thoughts on the movie. We’re all different and have different opinions. Imagine that?
I would rather watch this than watch what Hollywood puts out today. Over blown budgets with no story.
I thought The Crow was overrated as a kid. It's worth watching/owning for sure, but it's not a favorite. I'm waiting for it to hit around $10 before I get it.
Agreed that scene with hot dogs & farting always made me cringe. Always wish they took that stupid scene out. Aside from that always loved this movie.
Does this still have the terrible Gideon hand stab edit in it?
The only thing they should have done is digitally erase the wire that is seen when one of the bad guys falls in the meeting/massacre scene. Too much grain, strange color at times and even vertical stripes in a few shots on one corner of the frame. An overrated botched transfer.
