There's a 'nuclear' consequence to avoiding escalation. Vlad is one of the few who point this out. It's really a wash, IMO. We can't sit and let Russia continue on its present course. We need to let Ukraine defend itself and we need to give Ukraine what it needs to protect its airspace. Perhaps a larger point is that Putin views the west's restraint as weakness; he'll take advantage of that.
He's been taking every advantage that his "enemy" democracies have let open to his endless network of operatives (military, business, informational, digital, intel, sabotage, logistics etc.). If the threat of nuclear weapons use by Putin is low currently, this seems like the perfect timing to formulate the Ukraine and NATO strategy to completely liberate Ukraine to its 1991 international borders, especially for European and American security and stop hiding behind fear of Putin escalation?

The US staying power in conflicts it has participated in has been questionable since the Korean War. Therefore, a cynic could possibly conclude that their motives are not what they claim to be. Bombs glide from planes. Pkanes live on airfields in russia. West says it's ok for russia to use chinese, iranian and north korean rockets. But US told them not or there might be escalation. Thd west wants for russian rockets and planes to run out killing ukrainian people.
Pretty simple. The US and the west don't make enough air defense interceptors to make a difference. US only makes 240 pac 2 interceptors a year and only 550 Pac3 interceptors per year. Typically two interceptors are fired at an incoming target, if we use this equation and round up we get around 400 possible Interceptions with 800 interceptors, that's assuming a 100 percent interception rate, which is frankly impossible. At the same time Russia fired over 4000 missiles annually, that doesn't include drones. This equation will never favor Ukraine or the west. The US and the west de industrialized itself, they shipped manufacturing overseas and inflated their economy with gdp numbers that are irrelevant to production. The gdp is artificially inflated by counting things like debt, into the gdp. The west is simply not able to produce military aid in a quantity that will make a difference
