Unfortunately you made the normal tourist mistake here... And got served a pretty awful looking Full English Breakfast... You should always eat where the locals eat... And never just select the nearest cafe... Even a supermarket Full English Breakfast would've been better than the one you had... Plus it would've been about half the price too... Check out food review videos if you want to find the best places to have a Full English Breakfast my friend... Places like... Terry's Cafe... E. Pellicci... Regency Cafe... Pavilion Cafe... These are the places where locals will go to have a Full English Breakfast... Not these awful tourist trap cafes... Also... If ever you can't find anywhere to sit down and eat in future... Here's a top tip... Find an empty bus stop shelter... Which will usually have seating inside... And use that to sit down and eat... If it becomes crowded... You can always walk along to the next bus stop... They'll be plenty of them scattered all over London my friend... All the best... Cheers mate.

You DO NOT TIP for just being served a takeaway. You tip for waiter / waitress for excellent service, not for just bringing the food to your table..
£18 where i live would buy 2 good size fish suppers and money leftbover for Curry Sauces and a big bottle of Coke/Dr Pepper etc

The English breakfast is more of the small posh sort instead of a big hearty meal 😅 The famous place in London everyone, including celebs, go to is E Pellicci. It'll be busy but they do a proper big full English breakfast including fried bread!

The vinegar is only supposed to go on the chips, optional on the fish. Poppies is twice the price of a normal fish and chips because it’s a high end version.

The fish and chips in Secret Recipe Malaysia only cost around RM20, more or less USD5 or £4.
Poppies is a fancy fish and chips place and pretty famous, so they charge a premium. There is a lot of the high end ones though which are more pricey as opposed to a chippy thats on a random street. A few of the known fancy fish and chip places in London are - "Hobson`s Fish & Chips", "Golden Union", "Oliver's Fish & Chips" , and for something fancy and highly recommended "North Sea Fish Restaurant"

That "full english" breakfast even close to being full. You were ripped there. London is expensive - no way id pay £18 for straight up fish and chips here i live. (South coast.)

The UK's favourite cuisine these days isn't fish and chips... it's curry. If you're back in London, head for Drummond Street, some great Indian restaurants to choose from.
Why do tourists find it so surprising that it's cold and windy and gloomy when they come here in winter!?😂 If you want the weather nice come in the summer duh! Joking with you bruv, don't take offense, glad you enjoyed the food but you do know London is not what normal people in UK eat and certainly don't pay those prices lol.
If you want a high quality roast dinner by the way, theres tons of places. "The Pig and Butcher" I highly recommend. Ideally go on a Sunday for the best experience , they have a different menu then. And I'd probably make a reservation just to be on the safe side. Also try their sticky toffee pudding 😋 they do great scotch eggs too made with black pudding
Never buy traditional British food from London. Not only in many cases, it is not traditional. It is also very expensive.

here in the uk, you can tip if you feel like it but its not somthing that is forced on people to pay the bill of the company workers

Want to find a good place for breakfast or lunch ask a black cabbie where a good spot is or go to a building site and ask one of the workers because they will want decent food at decent prices.

You went to a "Poppies Fish & Chip" shop, a VERY expensive chain, ALL branches are located in the biggest 'tourist trap' areas in London !!! I realise you didn't know... BUT you need to do a bit more planning and research. And that 'breakfast' was NOT a Full English by any stretch of the imagination... Just saying! EDIT: Since reaching the the part were you went, YOU are staying in one of the most expensive areas of London (near Shepherd's Market W1 - WOW!). No wonder you got 'stung' on the price and for what you got 'as breakfast'... But WHY didn't you check the menu PRICES FIRST before going in? Absolute insanity, and yes you are the sort of 'tourist' they love... 😋😂😂😂 Just saying!🙄

@@TomGodson95 1) in canada (where this guy is originally from) because of the British influence, you can find fish and chips almost anywhere. Even Ikea Canada has fish and chips in their mini cafeteria. 2) The UK isn't the only place in the world that deep frys food. Deep fried fish is fairly common in number of places. Deep fried potatoes, that is French fries or chips or pomme frites... is like available pretty much anywhere on the planet.

You did fish and chips right but beyond that!! Ouch! Full english should always be a nice greasy spoon cafe! Cheap as chips as we would say! Doesnt cost a fortune and is the most filling! London is always going to be expensive, even tourist traps aside, you did miss out on seriously authentic british food!! O do hope you enjoyed your visit though.

Watch for scammers especially in a big city, that full English breakfast looked awful, them fish and chips looked decent tho, the best way to experience England is going to more rural areas outside London

@@KouroshKamyabi we eat curry with everything, curry is the most popular food in the uk. Curry is a sauce, an ingredient, a topping, a dish etc. Theres so much curry its insane. Always curry sauce with fish and chips and you go to a CHIPPY, a chip shop. Tourist trap chains are awful, we dont go to chains in the uk, everywhere has a local chippy a local chinese a local indian, a local kebab shop etc, theres tens of thousands of them. We dont like chain resturants as much as the usa, you dont get real british food there, theyre legit just tourist traps.
The meals may seem expensive. However, that is to do with the exchange rate. It is a terrible time to travel if you are North American at the moment as the $ is worth so little at the moment

Always curry sauce with fish and chips, cover it in curry. Also fish n chips near me is much larger portion, looks better and is £10 for a fish supper. Also i have no idea what that breakfast was you got absolutely scammed. A full english should be under £10 and twice the size.

Sorry dude but you got ripped off good and proper paying that much for average looking Fish and Chips in a fancy branded box. Next time come up to Yorkshire and visit Whitby(or pretty much any other seaside town) and I guarantee you will find better quality at around half the
