Bungie is suing owners of fraudulent accounts who DMCA striked Bungie's UA-cam channel on content that belonged to Bungie.

If only UA-cam stood with him. There's no platform in existence that has more disdain for their creators than UA-cam. They absolutely do not give a shit about the abuse of their grabage system.
Well I think more creators need to put pressure on UA-cam, and on the companies responsible for the abuse. They will not just stop doing that on their own I don't think... This. How the fuck has this slipped under the radar? They wanted them to do a review, they just didn't like that they weren't mindless puppets and reviewed the show fairly.
CBS believes it's easier to censor negativity surrounding their shit content rather than producing actual *good* content. Someone should probably tell them this wouldn't be a problem if they actually put effort into their products and didn't produce *shit*
the funny part is CBS didn't make the show they're only the distributor internationally there are 29 companies involved in the halo series out of that 29 CBS and VIACOMCBS are only in-charge of Distribution
Exactly... This is exactly what they want. Some site will pick this up and give the series more publicity. I imagine it's under performing all hopes the network had when they decided to bring on the project. Now people will watch it just to pick on how bad it is.
This stuff is so interesting. We had no idea that this could happen -like this. You work so hard Joe, for us, for our information & entertainment. My husband, and I are behind you. Hang in there, stay bad-ass strong.
I don't often watch your content, but I hope you really show these jerks what for. I'm behind you all the way. They've been bullying people for years and it's not right. You've got my total support.
he could also try to find a Pro Bono Copyright Lawyer that would take the case for free. usually those kinds of lawyers will only take payment if you win the case.
I would totally donate to that. CBS is probably used to crushing small-time UA-camrs and they need a good metaphorical slap to the face to show them David can still beat Goliath.
@@KnowPEINamp Anything would help when it comes to donations like this. Think about how many people can only spare a dollar for example. If there are hundreds of them then that's hundreds of dollars. Anything helps :)
At this point I'm more invested in this copyright abuse than anything that has happened in the halo tv show. Legitimately cant wait for the episode 5 review.
CBS CID is seriously the worst. They do a manual audio claim on each of my reactions to the show no matter how low the audio is. And I actually LIKE the show! They don't seem to get it. Please take them to court.
I agree and hope he does but it’s a long expensive arduous road to go. I’m sure he has his connections but CBS is a massive corporation with TONS of money that they can just lean on him. Meanwhile they can limit the money he gets by continuing to claim it.

It's just straight up bullying. No common person want's to go to court because of the stress, money, time, etc it takes. These asshole companies know this and they probably dont even care about a courtcase.
It's the crisis of the information age, random people in their garage can have just as much reach as a media corporation. The media establishment's fall into irrelevance has not been slow, painless or dignified.
I’m sick of people/companies abusing the DMCA system like this to try to silence people even under total transformative fair use. Keep fighting the good fight!
Just finished your message to the network employee. Joe, you're a hard working dude who has been on this platform for a long time. I always wonder when "enough is enough," and seeing you directly confront these clowns is an inspiration to anybody who doesn't have the presence to fight this crap. You are doing a huge service to creators on this platform by standing up for what's right. Thank you. Hope it pans out for you and that we can finally get some intervention from UA-cam themselves to stop this behavior.
Problem is he already outed himself in a prior video, letting them know he doesn't really have the money for a serious court fight, and now he's trying to act all big and bad.
Sorry to hear it, man. I wish you didn’t have to handle it in court. But it seems the only way to solve it is to make their pockets hurt for financial damages.
I think they'll back down before it turns into a legal issue. But if not it could escalate enough to change laws on fair use. My understanding is it's a pretty grey area because it hasn't had to escalate much yet. Could be wrong, not a lawyer. My source for this is literally from the YMS guy on a sardonicast episode. But if you're not a lawyer don't come at me with that "lotta YT lawyers hur dur" shit.
Do you know how big of a corporation Paramount Global is? There is no way Joe will hurt their pockets even if he wins the lawsuit. The settlement would be pocket change to them. Paramount Global is a multi-billion dollar media and broadcasting giant. They're doing this because they know even if they lose a lawsuit, it will do nothing to them. This is why mega corporations abuse the system. They have very very deep pockets.
And UA-cam has the audacity to say that they're doing stuff for creators. This is a perfect example of the exact opposite. If YT would care, they wouldn't allow something like this to happen. 4, or even 5 times in a row.
@@calvinwilson3617 exactly lmao everyone knows they removed it because movie trailers were getting super downvoted. Controversial reasons or not we know that's why it was happening and not for the small channels getting bullied.

sue them because they dont want someone else profiting off of their content? the judge would laugh that out of court. the copyright act, with fair use being section 207, doesnt state anywhere that fair use can include selling or profiting. and it DOES say in section 206 that profiting off of broadcasting is the exclusive right of the copyright owner. joe just need to stop using other companies content. that costs massive amounts of money to produce. its not fair use.

You know, as bad as it sounds, I almost want this to get copyright struck again. Just so that we can get this taken to court and hopefully, finally, have a legal precedent so that this abuse of US law stops!
this will never go to court. its not an abuse. the law states in section 206 that profiting is the exclusive right of the copyright owner. a "review" or a "comment" or "for education", isnt for profit. the fair use law was created for situations like a person showing a friend something and commenting about it. for reviewing a movie on a website thats not profiting off of those reviews. joe is making money on these videos that contains content created by another company. nowhere in the law does it say thats fine, it literally says only the copyright owner can do that.
@@ge2719 Actually Joe, isn't making any money, because the videos are being demonetized. Not to mention the fair use of a few minutes of video footage from another source in the context of a review is perfectly legal and Joe is allowed to make profit off of his criticism just as every other film, movie, and game journalist does. This can and should go to court. Companies have been sued successfully for much less.
@@ge2719 just wanted to stop by and say you’re wrong. The 1961 Report of the Register of Copyrights on the General Revision of the U.S. Copyright Law cites examples of activities that courts have regarded as fair use: “quotation of excerpts in a review or criticism for purposes of illustration or comment; quotation of short passages in a scholarly or technical work, for illustration or clarification of the author’s observations; use in a parody of some of the content of the work parodied; summary of an address or article, with brief quotations, in a news report; reproduction by a library of a portion of a work to replace part of a damaged copy; reproduction by a teacher or student of a small part of a work to illustrate a lesson; reproduction of a work in legislative or judicial proceedings or reports; incidental and fortuitous reproduction, in a newsreel or broadcast, of a work located in the scene of an event being reported.” Commercial usage is one of the four factors that can be used to determine fair use legitimacy, but your notion that it only applies to the copyright owner is incorrect.

CBS CID is seriously the worst. They do a manual audio claim on each of my reactions to the show no matter how low the audio is. And I actually LIKE the show! They don't seem to get it. Please take them to court.

That would make you look like a complete dick and a bully which hates opinions other than your own
yeah they gave him access, but probably said 'dont show any clips that havnt already been shown in trailers and commercials' i think thats what they are striking down his vids for, because he is showing footage like that
"The new Robocop?"
"Don't ever bring that up Joe! There is no new Robocop."
I watched this video everytime it's reposted and that makes me laugh everytime.
I'm amazed at the pettiness they're showing with these blocks. I'm with you Joe.
Support AJ !! Keep fighting
This is such bullshit. I'll support the hell outta of you Joe. Always inspiring us to support awesome creators like yourself. You inspired me to create videos Joe. You're the best. 👌👏
SIck of these bully corporations going after small folks. Keep up the good fight Joe, we're all rooting for you.
At this point I'm watching, liking and commenting on every single one of these reviews just to support Joe
Same here, the more engagement. The better
Leaving my phone running haha
Yeah, this is my 3rd time watching this one.
Please take them to court! Hire a lawyer, document/stream/UA-cam the process, that would be a fascinating to watch for this audience and just about everyone on UA-cam who has ever had fair use issues. Next video I wanna see is STEP 1: How to take CBS to court
If each ver keeps getting longer we could eventually get a video who’s runtime rounds to infinity. The infinite lecture to cbs at last.
Gonna let this watch all the way through and share it on all my platforms, this is bullshit. You guys work so hard for all your reviews and put your best honest opinions forward. CBS knows they have put forth a shit product with this series and they don't want that word spread. But they're no match for the Angry Army. Let's get em boys!
This is ridicilous, we’re with you Joe!
Just when I thought I couldnt love you any more than I do Joe, you prove me wrong. Godspeed and I am sure this community as well as UA-cam in general has your back. It is about time these corporate bullies get a taste of retaliation.
Take these scumbags to court and sue the living daylights out of them, stand your ground Joe! We will always have your back.
ho my god guys, were up to 251k view, making this version the second most viewed of the 4 version uploaded (v2 had 338k, v3 had 172k).
LMAO this back and forward between Joe and CBS is wayyyyy better than the whole Halo tv series!
@@ge2719 a review isn't for profit? Hmm I wonder how all review sites and professional reviewers make their money then.
@@ge2719 When your work qualifies as fair use then you’re able to monetize due to that work being determined to not belong to the copyright holder.
Copyright Law cites examples of activities that courts have regarded as fair use: “quotation of excerpts in a review or criticism for purposes of illustration or comment; quotation of short passages in a scholarly or technical work, for illustration or clarification of the author’s observations; use in a parody of some of the content of the work parodied; summary of an address or article, with brief quotations, in a news report; reproduction by a library of a portion of a work to replace part of a damaged copy; reproduction by a teacher or student of a small part of a work to illustrate a lesson; reproduction of a work in legislative or judicial proceedings or reports; incidental and fortuitous reproduction, in a newsreel or broadcast, of a work located in the scene of an event being reported.”
Commercial usage is one of the four factors that can be used to determine fair use legitimacy, but your notion that it only applies to the copyright owner is incorrect.
Stay strong Joe. If you go to court over this I'm sure you would win no problem. I'm with you dude
My dude! XD get it. It honestly wouldn't be hard to find the person responsible, you shouldn't even have let them push you for this long. You have far more patience than I do.
