This is a terrible design. I actually own the first generation Kilburn. The metal face plate is solid and the chunky metal on/off switch is a joy to use. I am sticking with the first generation. I recommend people to save money and buy the Kilburn 1 on sale. The Kilburn 2 is a costs savings design meant to maximize share holder profits. It also looks cheap. The plastic plate is terrible and will show its age quickly(especially if used outdoors).
I'd still disagree. I do love the metal toggle switch on the original, but the gold is looking dated at this point and can still show wear as the plating comes off. I've had many of their speakers for years and it happens with copious use. We have no idea how the plastic top will look in the sun and are purely speculating. There are plenty of plastics that are able to keep their color and not fade. Many things on this new version are pricier to manufacture including the LED display representing battery life, a metal grille instead of just fabric, water resistance, and reinforced corners. Not to mention the better internals such as Bluetooth 5. The woofer went from 15W to 20W, the tweeters are each now 8W instead of 5W, and the frequency range is expanded to 52-20,000 Hz. The original didn't even leverage AptX for near lossless audio on supported devices. I love the original, I have one, but there are a ton of improvements here. It isn't just an attempt to save a couple bucks. It is more about adopting a slightly more modern look, while still looking retro.
I also have the first generation and I absolutely love it. I do like the bigger speakers on the second one but in my use I've never really had to use it near full volume especially indoors. The original sounds great and has a amazing stylistic look I was looking for. Plus I'm really sad to see the switch go, I made friends turn it on for me just to see their own satisfaction and jealousy.
Killburn 1 is much better looks than Killburn 2.. Killburn 1 has an option of 3.5mm jack wire connection and the power switch, K2 only has bluetooth and doesn't have a classic power switch..The looks on K1 is more classic and killer looks : ) but both K1 & K2 has the same the sound.. I'm so lucky i got the K1 for only 280$ and the K2 is 400$ :p B4 it phase out the K1 as per the sales agent.
If u wanna buy this speaker. You need to have in mind that even being portable you've to take care of the speaker like a fancy porcelain for the materials specially that soft black "leather" scratch easy. Sound great but keep that in mind.
I just bought Kilburn II. It got very good sound quality. It's built of HQ materials, and working great. But there is one problem. When You try to use it with TV or laptop, after 10 minut of silence it go to standby (sleep), even when it's plugged in. And it will not turn itself on when you play something. You must click button by hand, which is very frustrating. Except that, it is nice product.
@@pinroshan020 Thank You. Yes, internal parts are fine. I must admit, that the speaker is working very well. Even today it sounds well, like the day i bought it.
This is a real downgrade. First model sounded way better, it had more heritage value and battery life was better. They’ve changed a supplier. First generation was made by Swedish Audio Pro. It is actually their awarded Addon T3 model with slightly tuned sound to fit Marshall specs.
I have the original Marshall Kilburn which is perfect in itself They ruined the cool look of the marshall kilburn as the Marshall kilburn 2grill is ugly Maybe someone who has untrained eye cant tell but believe me the grill istotally wrong and although they upgraded many features on the kilburn which is awesome, they ruined the amazing look of the original look of the Marshall kilburn in my opinion
I really wanted to have a sound comparison test.
I know I'm kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to stream new movies online?
@Hunter Jameson Flixportal :P
@Lochlan Rodrigo thanks, I signed up and it seems to work :) I appreciate it!!
@Hunter Jameson You are welcome =)

Because of the water-resistent, that's why they remove all the metal parts.
I agree to you. I was also own a first generation.
I agree too. Design of the first one is much better
First generation design was the selling point, they ruined it, gold/black gave it a vintage look which was a USP
I hope to buy it soon. Tha KS for the upload
For some reasons, after charging for certain of time, the indicator is still flashing.
Can this be always connected to an outlet? I would like to use this as a computer speaker.
Do you like the retro-modern looks of Marshall's latest portable speaker?
Pick one up! ➡ www.prc.guide/d0Ux7
Is the fucking thing STEREO (2 speakers) or MONO? Can't find any info on this point!
Does it support AAC tho?

Kilburn 2 also has a headphone jack, though!
Please let me know if it sounds better than the HomePod?
Quick question on my killburn 2 my headphone jack is above the charge port why is that?
Is it really portable? It won’t be a hassle to bring it from my home to another town then back at my hometown?
How long its the charging time ya? From 0 to 100%?

Compare to other speaker please! Including HomePod. 😎
I'm thinking of buying between this speaker or a Bose Smart Speaker. What do you recomend me?
I want to know this too
How does the multi host functionality work on two iPhones. Can you simply switch ownership by your iPhone?

Good luck and hope your internal parts are still intact.

how loud it gets
Can you plug in a iPod Classic?
Not a fan of the new "modern" look
When did they release
my marshall kilburn 1 last for 30h on good volume... so a downgrade in battery?
I didn’t read the battery capacity part of specification but wattages for woofer and tweeters both went up so that should be using more battery power.
Still, everyone I have seen say that this gen of Marshall products are less bass heavy then the gen were Kilburn 1 and major 2BTwere.@@robinjeong3875
Work in 220v?
yes
Is it louder than the original version?
High wattage speakers but pretty similar output. Better quality, roughly same max volume. Also, more omnidirectional
@@AppleInsider thanks
IPx2? That's like a rating you don't admit you tested.
is it just me or Appleinsider hired Chris Griffin for this review??
usb-c in/out would be nice
Is it louder than jbl boom box?
Lol! No. Marshall is an overhyped speaker brand that’s ridiculously expensive
nice cat at 3:46
159,95€ ist simply an outstanding price for this thing
Lovin this baby
So its not suited for rap or electronic, bass rich music ?
Wowww. Hoping that i have this. But can't afford. This is my dream ☺
Bruh!
Just buy JBL products for a real king of speaker

That design just ruined it
I'll stay with the original one...! No need to pay that amount of money if it has roughly the same volume power.
I have the original Marshall Kilburn which is perfect in itself

How did they get this so wrong?..... I love my first Gen Kilburn and it looks so much better too!
I went to buy an iphone and came home with a high speed powerbank. Who am I ?
You are the Riddler from Batman with Adam West!
But it’s not even going to eleven...
Чем он отличается от первого kilburn? Какая разница между ними ?
Harman kardon is the best
The first generation is better
Fk nooo sound test
Dapt tinisting mo bweset
Not worth buying it. Sound quality isn't the strongest side of this speaker and price too. Better to have a JBL Extreme 2.
