Ça (It en anglais) est un roman de Stephen King publié pour la première fois en 1986 et qui a remporté le Prix British Fantasy en 1987. Publishers Weekly l'a classé comme le roman le plus vendu aux États-Unis en 1986. Cette histoire raconte la lutte entre sept enfants terrorisés devenus adultes et une entité maléfique connue sous le nom de Ça qui prend la forme des peurs les plus profondes mais se présente principalement sous la forme d'un clown se faisant appeler Grippe-Sou. Le roman propose un récit non-linéaire qui alterne entre deux périodes de temps différentes (à vingt-sept ans d'intervalle) ainsi qu'entre les différentes perspectives et les histoires des sept personnages principaux. Il traite de thèmes tels que la puissance de la mémoire, les traumatismes de l'enfance et la laideur qui se cache derrière la façade d'une petite ville.

The book is a masterpiece. The movie is ok... It could have been better, yet it still remarkably manages to capture the visceral horror represented by clowns.

Considering it was made for TV, they really couldn't do too much in terms of conveying all the horrific elements of the novel. Here's hoping the new upcoming movie rocks.
