in the future, not only the screen but also the battery, camera and certain components will be "locked" by the Apple serial number. if you change it yourself there will be a "missing" feature

The true tone is the defect of OLED screen which needs the data importation from the original screen. This has nothing to do with the face id system. Not the software bug, neither.

Don't do it I made that mistake with my iPhone x. Instead of taking it to geek squad and pay 269, I paid 120 for the LCD screen at the local repair shop.

Good question. The original data and the serial number will be transported to the OLED screen, but the new display screen's class grade has already been confirmed before reassembly.
ETrade Supply follow-up question. Why Xr, Xs/Max, 11 phone doesn’t show screen serial numbers in 3utools? Most of us worried about it.
@@astaclover2035 Well, checking the serial number is not the only way to identify the iPhone original screen. We can still tell the differences between the original screen and the LCD screen by looking at the external screen color, the sense of touching, water drop testing, the camera position, etc.

So is it true that the OLED screen won’t last as long as a LCD? I have heard that iPhone LCD can last several years longer than OLED because it’s lifespan is significant shorter? If so, can this be solved by replacing the screen?
The LCD is longer than OLD and also is cheaper. It can still have True Tone after we transmit the data in the same way as the video.

As it is shown in our video, you need to transport your iPhone Xs Max screen original data to the new screen. Besides, you need to reset your face id. Most iPhone X series have the same problems on face id issue after display screen replacement.

It can be turned on after replaced but the 3D touch function will be failed, while iPhone Xs screen works OK on iPhone X. We don't know why.

It's hard to tell an iPhone X LCD screen really original or not. We suggest you check it times after you decide to buy it from your friend. The OLED screen still works well for your iPhone X and it is much cheaper than $300. We think it would be a good choice for you.
@@etradesupply Well I found out that my old iPhone x has some damage on motherboard it needs some repairs so I bought a new x in white ... my heart does not feel comfortable in using repaired items whether I did it my self or not... I will sell it as it is maybe I will get some 200$.

Why would you want True Tone? I hate True Tone on my Xs Max because it makes the screen a yellow tint.
