Hi Michael! Creating stitch patterns is a complex manual process using graphic software. There are UA-cam videos online that will show the steps for this process depending on the graphic software used, but the process is not easy. There is also a software program that Stahls’ sells that will automate this process called TwillStitchPro PLUS. www.stahls.com/twill-stitch-pro-plus-software

Yes! You should be able to do this in Illustrator as well.

Yes, to do this, you will need to create the file in your design software, and the laser will reproduce it.

You will have to ask the X-tool team; we are Trotec and have no experience with an X-tool laser.
