@@CinematicLaboratory Depending on how you set up voice allocation on the keyboard, you can do some cool things, like playing a triplet arpeggio across 4 voices. If you give each voice a different sound, you get a different kind of pattern on each loop. Sort of what I like to do on the Vermona PerFourmer (or on the Korg MonoPoly I wish I had). 😉
This has been on my radar for quite some time, so close to pushing the button on the kit. This is a great video, I love the cinematic feel of this module, righ up my audio street...so to speak.
Lovely video, and awesome production value as always! I have really been digging the content on this elmira 2, and it's super cool to hear your work with it. Awesome timbres and that elmira 2 is a great growler. If I ever get my hands on one, I'll be pairing it with my merit pedals :D
I’ve had mine about 3 weeks now and I’m just loving how beautifully mellow it can sound -it’s labelled a drone synth but it’s so much more than that-I love sequencing low bpm polyrhythmic reverb delay washed soundscapes Word of advice -just start with a blank canvas and see where it takes you ❤
How do you feel about it now? I am thinking of swapping my Lyra8, cause I want it to play nicer with my other synths. As much as I lof distortion, the flavor I hear in every demo is not to my taste. Even with the bite down it seems to have these characteristics. The around 8 there all of a sudden is a nice mellow sound without it. How do you feel about the seemingly easy overdriven state?
@@Congasjones Thanks so much for you reply. I was afraid for the answer. I will have to think hard about it then. That is the exact thing holding me back, Its just too spikey. Did the hidden menu with mix saturation do anything ?
@ it can be mellow but goes to crunchy really quickly esp if using the hidden menu -the new stylophone drone attracted me to seek Elmyra but that’s not for sale yet so settled for a liven ambient which is perfect for me
That’s sound great, too 🖤in a softer way like Blush Response video with elmyra2 ;-) big thanx for sharing your experience! Greetings and have nice holidays 🖖👽
It's funny to hear how a module changes from comfort zone to comfort zone. I clearly favored a Bladerunner vibe, but I enjoyed Blush Response's Modular Trash Metal adventure too! Happy holidays to you!
Amazing Video, really like the multi polyphonic analog flair, what did you mean by smart keyboard at 11:49 ? I have a 1U CV keyboard i hope this works with the module :) Also, is it possible to separate the voices or are they mixed together at all times with no individual outs? ...if you have any other poly eurorack suggestions let me know, i liked the dreadbox nymphes but its not mountable in a rack.
Great presentation 🎉 if you have a few basic modules perhaps you could come close to this drone machine. But Elmyra 2 seems like an instrument with its own soul. Hmmm
These designs are always a great inspiration for building something similar with separate modules, like four Plaits, Stages, Veils, a Delay and a Plasma Drive :).
I wanted to get this but all the demos are just pure noise/chaos. Which...I mean is what I normally make, but didn't want to buy yet another synth to do it....but your demo shows how soft and actually ambient it can be and not just a grindhouse of sound. Re-debating buying one now.
Was it the elmyra2 doing the drum noises? At one stage it sounded like it was talking to you from the grave!!! Spooky. I love your informative video. I hope you experiment more and show us more of what it can do please??? Do you think it is capable of harmonics like the subharmonicon? Btw...i ordered the kit version three days ago... Cannot wait. I liked the experiment with a light sensor. Combined with a handful of resistors and capacitors there is enough there to be busy until it sings its last song. What a machine. I saving up for the Lyra8.
No, Elmyra 2 can only make low drones. I used an external drum loop, patched into the external input so it was working as a processor. I think I covered everything you can expect from this module, but if I find something different I will share it.
It's true that it probably won't make any regular drum sounds, there are other synths for that, but it can do more than just low drones. 😉 Check out @MoOkOoO who makes it sound like bells, or some of my patches here: ua-cam.com/video/UukYc3aQF8U/v-deo.html
I love what you did there. That keyboard part was awesome. 😇👍
Yeah, it's a great way to use those four VCOs and I love that it's always in tune when you patch keyboard CV. It's a very warm and deep pad machine.

If you love the low drone rumble, it's absolutely fantastic. Just don't expect too much from it because it's a lot of grunge (unless you fancy that).

@ I sold mine -just too gritty all the time which was shame but sound wasn’t for me despite trying to like it lots

@@Congasjones Will check those out for sure, thanks!
Thanks❤. Love to see more about it :)
I am expecting Neutral Labs to come with cool firmware updates. I will revisit the module when there's something new to share!
This is a great Video, thanks, really helpful for showing it's capabilities! Had mine for a while, I need to do some more diving! ❤
Such good timing, my Elmyra kit arrives tomorrow!
So cool if you can build it yourself. Have fun!

Got mine a great strangle !
Amazing ❤
looks like soma and leploop had a love synth child!
Some Benjolin and a bit of Ciat Lonbarde too
this sounds great. kinda wish it had a midi in for polyphony. the price gets kindof steep if you add a 4 voice midi to cv converter.
Wonderful synth, but the problem is where to find one in EU ?
Thinking about throwing this one into my rack already containing a vector wave to basically make a cheapo solar 42 haha

Please try their new scrooge drum machine
Neural Labs has confirmed to let me make a video. Don't know where, don't know when.
welp, there goes my money
Excellent🦾
