      @@Basada79 you definitely want to imprint some things if you have a trash low roll because you will not be using that, especially if it's something on a ring/ammy (because those matter the least about upgrading) ESPECIALLY if it's a strong legendary power in general for leveling i.e. pulv leggo etc. Also, at 25 i farmed over 1.5 mil gold in like 3 hours. it's not that hard to get gold, although ideally you don't want to spend more than you have to.

      I make Pyromancer builds in every rpg, and I theory crafted a Pyro for D4 on a build website. Took me 2 hours to finish the Paragon board, making sure I read everything possible, and let me tell you, the devs who made the combat, gear and abilities are top tier. The amount of synergy that's for the Pyro is amazing (mine is built for HC) and they did a great job.
      It wasn't too overly complicated, but just enough to make it worthy of paying close attention to, and very fun. The hardest part was figuring out the best way to use your glyphs to get the bonuses without spending too much Paragon points, and to my shock and suprise, the Pyro build turned out perfect, all 220 points were used on stats I needed, almost as if the devs intended this build!🤩

    Reminds me of D3 seasonal leveling: you cube the weapon power because an at-level weapon is most important, but you can run level 15 versions of Bracers of the First Men or Crudest Boots til level 70.

    • @ToadstedCroaks
      @ToadstedCroaks Рік тому

      Yeah, I always put on cain set and borne set at lvl 20 and kept them on until 70. You would always be tempted to replace them with giant green numbers at higher level .. but even if you got an extra 8% damage by replacing your shoulders ... you'd lose 20% xp. It was just never worth it, even if you lost a significant amount of toughness / power; it was never as much as doubling your xp gains.
      A legendary power that gave you 400% damage was just a no brainer .. you were never going to take that off even at 70 until you found a higher level version of the same exact item. Like you mentioned, It's also why the decision for which legendary to use the deaths breaths from the challenge cache was important. Using it on a legendary power you got from an armor piece / jewelry was wrong, because you could gamble them easily enough from kadala at level 1 and just wear them until level cap. Using the cube for a weapon was much smarter, because the odds of using that weapon until 70 was an impossibility, as well as finding that power again as you leveled. Gambling from kadala was more costly, and the odds of getting your weapon was way higher with the cube recipe than the chances of getting what you wanted from an armor piece / jewelry.
      It was just way more efficient to be able to use higher level weapons as you leveled up, and keep wearing low level sets / legendaries that gave you a huge power boost.

      idk if it will be the case on live but on beta legendaries that you wont use is a tremendous source of gold if you extract it's power, and sell the extracted legendary effect instead. So even though you won't be swimming in legendaries while leveling, at least know that when you get one you can't really benefit from, at least its a good chunk of gold.
      Personally I think that salvaging at low levels will always be the answer, as their gold worth is gonna be so minor in comparison to higher level when you actually start needing the gold.
      I have a feeling that salvaging a level 20 yellow staff gives the same amount of materials as salvaging a level 80 yellow staff. But the 20 staff is gonna be worth like 5k gold, and the 80 one might be worth 80k gold. So you're much better off salvaging items for as long as you don't feel like you currently need the gold. And then sell items at higher level.

So I would slowly, over the course of the game, commit to the abilities that are my favorites and would cross my fingers that I find legendaries that fit my skills & playstyle. If you're a rogue and have loved using ranged attacks for 50 levels, it might not be wise to jump to a melee build just because you found a GG dagger. I noticed that, too. If you're short on gold, selling trash items actually seemed to get you way faster gold than the gold drops from chests and mobs. Maybe this changes in late game or they adjust the early game drop rates on launch, but early game gold drops just didn't seem to keep up with the numerous gold sink mechanics.

    This is relevant advice if you're in top 1% of players. I think gold is not going to be a thing. Or not as bad so to not imprint a weapon or amulet as you're leveling. Especially from the codex of power. What you really need to be careful of is if you rip an aspect from a found item. Those are 1 time use.

    Amulet makes sense...until a great legendary drops, then you have to choose between gloves and a weapon. I wouldn't stress out too much on the weapon though, especially if you find one that has really good bonuses that you want to use, if you actually upgrade it, it could last you up to 20 levels, especially with a power imprinted on it. Gold isn't going to be a problem unless you're a habitual respeccer. I ended up with close to 300K at level 20 on my first character during the server slam. Now if the imprinting costs somehow become exponentially more expensive (item level based), then I guess it would be time to just look at gloves for a while.

  • @Katie-hb8iq
    @Katie-hb8iq Рік тому +1

    Wouldn't the same argument apply to gloves and other things? In D3, gloves were actually a very high source of DPS as well. I don't know how the rolls go for items in D4 though. I can imagine things like Shoulders are a bit more sacrificial since in D3 they were providing toughness mostly, and if you were good at avoiding damage, then you can probably sacrifice the stats there. But if you found a godly piece of gloves that had dual crit, attack speed, etc., you'd have the same problem, no? Same goes for ammy or ring. Maybe the right choice is just to avoid imprinting and roughing it if gold is that scarce?

  • @Logeekistics
    @Logeekistics Рік тому

    I think part of the problem, at least for tier 2 difficulty, is that it forces people to farm since there is a bottle neck in difficulty without items that impacts progress unless they have good enough gear. I think indirectly after hitting first capital it expects people to go to tier 1, or just farm exp till lvl 50. Farm exp to lvl 50 since it is more logical than taking breaks with every bottle neck and just hit the cap in one go which i assume wont take that long.
    How long would it take for someone with an exp farm to hit lvl 50? I think thats the problem since it makes more sense to do that.
    Also gear in general will drop faster it seems with exp farms so people will most likely get enough gear that they want they wont even need to do the manual gear upgrades.
    I personally like to feel over powered when I do the story, so I dont mind being over geared to a story that is scaled anyways. But I find it strange in how the balance is basically forcing people to do that. I expect thats what people will do in clans as well. Just stay in tier 2 for the exp bonus and do exp farms and hit top lvl asap. Then do the story/campaign and get the horse.

    And like what else are you going to spend gold on? It seems to me the reagents needed to do the craft are worth way more.
    I remember when imprinting an aspect, it was WAY more important to make sure to reroll an affix FIRST cause the reagent needed to reroll as a legendary was far greater, no one cared about the gold cost.

    I've been in situations like this in other games. What I do is take the buff on my lvl 20 weapon then when I get the 25 weapon I only use it if it's a bit more dmg then my buffed 20 weapon. Then depending on cost I might buff a lvl 30 for another double boost at lvl 30. Often the cost is lower at lower levels so I may even buff every weapon. I'm really good at grabbing gold and gear and vendoring it all so unless the cost is insane why the hell not. Not much else to do with gold sometimes. Some games have no auction house or anything worth buying or I'm just too lazy to find them perhaps. But it's also a hell of a lot of fun to blast stuff with OP weapon for your level. Of course, if we know every gold coin will really be needed and hard to get later then I may save every coin in that case. But most games increase gold as you increase level so the tiny amounts in early levels don't mean much usually. I wonder if imprint costs are based on level. I only played a bit of free beta but don't remember anything about dungeons or aspects or imprints. I have short memory lol.. But if the cost is more mats then I'm not sure because those may not go up in later levels. I guess also depends on all your other gear if you're struggling but can afford to buff weapon it just will save you tons of deaths and wasted time. I always advise people to not waste too much time on early gear. Do a few sessions to upgrade but then go go go. If you mess around for hours every 5 levels it's lots of time wasted. Just swap the obvious pieces and get back questing I think. I mean you can tell when it's really time for a big upgrade sesh.

    If you do find a good one slap it on the amulet since those are far less likely to be looted in the first place and don't have a dramatic impact on your overall performance.
    Barb can and Rogue can cheat however since a melee rogue probably won't care about their ranged weapon's damage stats and Barb has 2 two-handed weapons and will likely only be using 1 of them unless you're going for the weapon-swapping style (Also absolutely hilarious how so many people cried about Barb being weak when it is by far and away the strongest class)
