I was so excited for them to come I live in the wetlands and have old trees but they weren’t here in my area as much as I thought they would be. I really was hoping for tons of them but there aren’t many here.

I heard them a few weeks ago, and thought it was a strange machine off in the distance. They emerged earlier than our usual cicadas, and don't sound the same.
Today, l found a dead one on the sidewalk, and l saved it.
