  • 2025 Hyundai Palisade Revealed - Major Changes You Need to Know About!
Get ready for some exciting news from Hyundai! The company is set to begin mass production of its next-generation Palisade earlier than expected, aiming to meet the rising demand for hybrid vehicles. Originally planned for January 2025, the production of the new Palisade, codenamed LX3, has been moved up to December 2024, according to the Korean Car Blog.
This change also means that all pre-prototype model development has been accelerated by a month, and camouflaged models have already been spotted testing this year. Hyundai plans to produce 210,000 units of the second-generation Palisade annually, a 30 percent increase from last year's targets for the current model. Out of this total, 70,000 units will be petrol-powered, while the remaining 140,000 units will be hybrids. Notably, there will be no diesel options for this new generation.
The upcoming Palisade will offer a turbocharged 2.5-litre hybrid four-cylinder engine and a 3.5-litre turbocharged V6, replacing the current 2.2-litre turbo-diesel and 3.8-litre petrol V6 engines. There are hints that Hyundai may offer two types of hybrid systems, potentially including both conventional and plug-in hybrid options, similar to the smaller Santa Fe model.
Hybrid SUV sales are booming, with Australia seeing an increase of nearly 15,000 units from 2022 to 2023. In Korea, new hybrid registrations rose by 40.8 percent in the first four months of the year compared to the same period last year, reaching 129,201 units. This surge in hybrid vehicle popularity has likely prompted Hyundai to expedite the production of the Palisade hybrid.
The second-generation Palisade is expected to feature Hyundai's latest software-driven vehicle technology, allowing for wireless over-the-air updates for systems like suspension, brakes, and airbags. It will also include a Level 3 autonomous highway driving system.
The current Palisade, which launched in 2020, includes both petrol and turbo-diesel engine options. Despite its popularity, it was outsold in Australia last year by the Santa Fe, Mazda CX-9, and Toyota Kluger. The new Palisade will join Hyundai's lineup alongside the upcoming electric Ioniq 7, which will offer both single-motor rear-wheel drive and dual-motor all-wheel drive powertrains.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Hyundai Palisade as it gears up to redefine the hybrid SUV market!
