So like, vinyl is NOT conducive to the sidechain and compression of the digital version of this song. This is the coolest way to account for that. April if you see this, I see you, and you are the awesome-est.
i knew it had to do with the dynamics but i couldnt quite define it
no clue what this means but im living
that makes so much sense!!! i knew the song was different in general but I couldn’t place why the whole “stop me” part sounded different despite it being pretty much the same as the streaming version. the sidechaining is what gives it its PUNCH
i've been avoiding hearing this version of the song until my vinyl came in... it came in the other day... and broke my recoed player halfway through Cops and robbers... Wallsocket is just that good ig
NOOOOOOOOOOO
gosh
@@aperture102 yeah lmao. i still have streaming/digital version so it's not like i can't listen to the album but damn dude 😭
@@aperture102update: i got a new record player for Christmas, Wallsocket here i come!!!
i love the melody of the "everyone's a critic" and "everything is business" part and i think it's really really cool That she decided to do something with that i jus love that this exists because goddamn this song is amazing
I was so shocked when I heard this version the first time I played this on vinyl, really cool that this was included on the vinyl version.
underscores was always von dutch cult classic
it's alright, the streaming version has a better flow i feel
I didn’t know this version existed before I got my Wallsocket vinyl. Such a cool experience hearing for the first time in that format.
2:15 I believe she actually says “pinch me” and not “it’s made”!
too late 😔
i love spreading misinformation
perfection
hi flash :-)
@@aperture102 hiya great video
i like this version more than the streaming version, especially “everything is business, im running out of ideas” it just goes so hard her performance is awesome on this lmao
What an amazing version omgg
i loveee the original but DAMN THIS SLAPSSSS
Good luck!
I just got the vinyl today and noticed this right away
this is so surreal
THIS IS FUCKING INSANE
genius

I love you
i love you too
I think I like this version more.
I actually kinda like this version, I didn’t think I wouldve
my urban outfitters vinyl still says 4:18 as the lentth, but the video is 4:28? does that mean my vinyl doesn't have this one, or is it a clever red herring to hide this version?
that's the length of the original version, either yours has the streaming one (which i doubt), or more likely, the fact some parts of it wouldn't be able to be pressed onto vinyl was noticed late into production and it was a last minute change. my guess is just that it's a holdover that went unnoticed
this is so cool did you do the additional lyric stuff yourself? howd you separate it from the lyric video??
i redid them all !! but i copied all existing ones by frame which made it a ton easier
I don't think we need government.
I like this one more for sure. not that the original is bad or anything
damn this is pretty cool, is there other versions of other songs or just this one?
there's supposedly some demos someone has but other than that i believe that's it
but there are some unreleased songs in the description
@@aperture102 I think they meant in the vinyl version of the album
it would be cool if that one version of geez louise with the unreleased b-section was on the vinyl. but then again, it still does have a chance to be on the b-sides of the album after all.
Other than the obvious new verse and chorus what else is changed? And why? People are mentioning vinyl compression or something but i'm not very knowledgeable in music 😭
@@LiaBossaNova stealing this from a reddit post "Records can only be so loud before the needle jumps out the groove, so the dynamic range must be low enough to compensate."
(probably) nothing else changed than the part that was replaced, the new verse is because the old one would have caused issues on vinyl
@@aperture102 ah thank you! that helps a ton. the instrumental seemed different but i could just be hearing things.
how did you download the sans used in the video? its shown on the website but i cant find a file for it
cant give an exact link for underscores plus nor can i remember the exact place i got it from
but i know for a fact people have uploaded it a few times in the underscord discord server
if youre in that server, heres a link to a very helpful message

I love U.S.A i wish it was real :c
This is so cool it sounds like an ai tried to extend it
this way cooler than an ai cuz it's actually real
What’s the point? Like if hyperpop uses digital techniques so much that you have to modify the song, why are you even using vinyl?
arguably not hyperpop anymore, plus people are suckers for physical media
april said it was "new prog pop" since hyperpop died
@@aperture102 it just seems insane to me on all levels lollll. Vinyl requires toxic chemicals only to get a less accurate song. Thanks for the genre specification that makes more sense!
