I'm 55,... I've never seen this movie before, but all i can say is...What an incredibly sweet movie....True unconditional love, can never be a bad thing, only misunderstanding people can look at it as something else...
Absolutely loved it! Innocent and pure love all round. Deep family values. Great acting too. 55 too and really missing the good old days now. The world wasn't so messed up.

I saw this movie many years ago and never forgot it. I loved it then and love it even more second time around. Piper Laurie was beautiful and Mel Gibson sure was a hunk of burning love. Such a good movie.

Strange thing is my awareness in never seeing Tim's Care taker in any other movie except being the Mother in the horror movie Carrie with Sissy Spacek. though first time seeing this is a great movie a reminder of the more sane day's seemingly . father could have tried hard in restoring his strength over his Wife death for son and daughter. of course if Mell Gibson was Illiterate why a girlfriend wouldn't be sitting by his bed side but, instead lying in it teaching him other skills in life? 😁😄🤞👍lol
Oh my goodness !!! I promise I only Got as Far in the movie with father telling her he can't live with out his wife. truly didn't expect to see them both kissing what happens next and how naive of me?🤫would this be a problem in today's society. I mean old men can have young girls and what is the problem with having a girlfriend 25 years older as long as your in your in your 20s 30s ? maybe not such a great idea getting pregnant. O'K I'll watching till the end now :/

This movie touched a cord with me Gibson's character is so much like my Grandson when his mom died I cried like a baby.
Such a beautiful and well-made movie! I watched it about twenty-seven years ago. I loved it then,and I love it even more now! I wish they made this kind of soft and pure love story again this day ❤

In 1977 I received the book whose title is the same as the film "TIM". I still have the book today. What a wonderful surprise to see the film today, I didn't know they had made a film! Exciting Spectacular l!

The innocence of true love. A woman like Mary is hard to find. She valued Tim as a person & them as a husband.

Mary knows how much she loves him but can't express her feelings but in the end she married him❤❤❤❤❤❤
Loved this film. It starts with innocence and humanity, not with hidden agenda and honey trapping! Having a loving partner makes Tim better and more confident. I wonder if the sister resented Mary for giving him the time and attention that she should have.
PS- I wish the father weren't living alone in that state of depression!
Colleen McCullough wrote wonderful novels. Thorn Birds and Tim are two. Both made into excellent movies.

After 10 mins I loved this. Checked on the notes and I recon this has also a book. So I looked for the book. Surprisingly (for me) this was the first book of Colleen McCullough. Now I do't wonder. This will be a beautiful story. I want the book too! Hope I could get a piece in Hungarian. Thanks for sharing, never saw.
