I am very proud of you. You did a very good job with the colormixing and compacting and prettyness

Great video. Its taking time to demo design ideas rather than quickly making a design to get the next shape sorted. 🎉

I’ve accidentally started making my MAM and todays task involved a platform that takes in each shape as 4 inputs, and outputs diverse groups in four directions. I call her Medusa, and it was really fun to work out a bit of knot theory via belts.

My color mixer takes all three color inputs from one pipe and pumps out all three evenly mixed products. Have two manifolds for combining and decombining all three colors from one to individual belts. Mixers fit easily inside a 1x2 doubt itd fit in a 1x1 tho.

Ive been messing with pipes extensively and yes a single pipe from 4 pumps will pump round robin style no matter how many times you break it up, but honestly i run 4 pumps to 1 machine and the machine shares its paint with the other that are connected to it

hoped to see the automatic color mixer .. seems like no one have done it yet .. looks like i have to handle it myself =( it takes so much time to make logic chains .. and even more time to optimize space

I've built an automatic color mixer like 3 times in MAM series. Taking in 3 base inputs of RGB and mixing CYMW on demand. Go check it out if you haven't already seen it

for the pipes, they just fill up. so if you have your 4:1 ratio meaning a belt can do 3 pipes (12/4) then from there it'd be finding the ratio from the pipe to the inputs for painters/ mixers. that would be my take, ive no idea if that helps at all.
Edit: as a TL;DR, 12 input saturates 3 pipes (as theres 3 layers) its just finding the ratio of the output (12 : 3 : ??)

Both inputs should be on the same longer side with both outputs opposite.

My biggest question is how Red + Green = Yellow.

    • @DataEngineerPlays

Additive color mixing. Light, not paint, paint would make brown right

It is possible to make a 1x1 that mixes for 1 full belt. But not 2 belts as this does (double output). For that you need a 2x1. Mine is very pretty, compared to yours buddy, sorry :)

So, what if you have the space belts half red half yellow and on the 1x2 platform have the color mixers facing the middle of the platform to output? The base colors won't have to cross left to right nor right to left. Would that save space?

Last night, a sub pointed out that the Space Pipe Carries over 10.8k l per line.

Yes that's in the new 0.0.8 update. This was recorded a long time before the update!

I think you could have made the routing easier if you made a "tower" for each input level. So have the mixers for the level 1 input on level 1 and 3 above each another, so you don't need to interconnect between towers. Also having the inputs/outputs on the long side of the 1x2 would make it more compact when routing space pipes, because you can directly combine the two outputs in a 2x2 space. Like this you need 3x3 to mix both outputs into a single fluid pipe.

IMHO compactness is not just about fitting it into as small a frame as possible but how the spacebelts need to be routed into it, is it really that compact if you have to take up 5 other platforms around it routing into it?

@DataEngineerPlays ive gotten great efficiency making good use of the 3x3 platform and designing machines for 3 belts in parallel.

trying to work on the 1x1 platform 12 belt fluid mixer and its a nightmare cause i can get 16 of the paint mixers but getting those last 8 on the platform is so difficult

There's an issue with your design, where the bottom (left side) of input isn't connected to any pipes (aka I have Red coming from the right and green going to the left). But the bottom (for green) isn't connected.

    • @DataEngineerPlays
      @DataEngineerPlays  3 місяці тому

Yes I eventually realise this in one of my let's plays and fix it there. The fix is in the google drive blueprint

In light and lighting, green is a primary color, but when mixing paint, yellow should be primary not green

There is an option in settings to display colors as CMYK instead of RGB. As someone who works on industrial ink printers for a living, I understand where you're coming from.

by mixing colore like this you lose half of the paint full belt of red and full belt of green is = 2 belts of yellow, i think shometing is worng...?

Holy cow, I'm gonna have to upgrade my little brain's cooling system to water cooled because A/C and fans just aren't cutting it anymore... I want to watch this, but it's coming too hard and fast (sic, it's a gf /jk don't mind me)... I'm gonna take a walk and try to chunk down some disordered learnin'.*
Don't stop the pace, I'd rather have stuff I can watch but my head will explode, than have nothing to watch and fill my time with videos saying for the hundredth time, "Guyladrial" in The Lord of the Ding-a-lings season 2 is gonna be shite.
I think I saw a single block 4 x 2 belt painter blueprint, but Idr where... and Idk if it can stack and go to the third level... I would remember stuff like that if my little brain wasn't currently saturated...

Something about the maths of the fluid mixer with 2 belts of fluid in, 2 belts of fluid out makes so much sense but is for some reason extremely counter intuitive....
