We are so proud to feature this 4+ hour complete audiobook edition (featuring Otis Jiry) of Jasper DeWitt's award-winning novella, "The Patient That Nearly Drove Me Out of Medicine," soon to be a full-length feature film produced by Ryan Reynolds and Twentieth Century Fox (bloody-disgusting.com/movie/3536605/ryan-reynolds-producer-team-patient-nearly-drove-medicine/). Congratulations to Jasper DeWitt on this amazing accomplishment, and thanks to Mr. Reynolds for giving this humble author his well-deserved opportunity to reach a larger audience. We are also thrilled to announce that Jasper is working with CTFDN on a new full-cast, serialized sci-fi/horror series called "Brood", as well as on our mature-audiences re-imagining of Scooby-Doo, which we'll be teasing here soon. For more information about Jasper DeWitt, see the video description, which includes links to his website and social media, where you'll find the latest news and developments.

Randandona, have you listened to 'The Body Farm' yet??? Same channel. I had crazy weird interesting dreams after that one. Can't wait to see what dreams I get after this one, hee hee.
I could listen to Otis Jiry like a child sitting cross legged on the floor hearing war stories from his Great Grandpa or Great Depression stories from Gramma. This episode & the "Timekeeper" are my favorites. Thank You to all involved.
I actually called in sick from work to listen to the whole thing . I was mesmerized . Almost supernaturly possessed too finish the whole thing. Maybe Parker is ... well never mind it was a very informative piece in a world that the few of us with open minds know is larger than is read about in there books . Thanks for sharing your experience. Sincerely Brian
I Love this channel! He was bothered a couple of years ago with Defunding by Y-T and I sent in a few dollars. Y-T was demoting these channels, Horror Babble and This one and others. I am 70 Tears Old SciFy Lover, Read Andre Norton and Robert Heinlien in 1959 and got Hooked, H.P. Lovecraft in 1960's, so This Channel and others are Vital. I have bad eyesight and cannot read books.
Absolutely brilliant! Otis, I have a hard time believing that you are not a 400 year old wizard, living in an old cabin, surrounded by familiars and leather bound books, giving advice and stories to those who seek your wisdom. You are one fantastic story teller
This story is brilliant. I'm surprised anyone disliked it. I normally doesn't listen to this type of story, but this particular story has no flaws and was well written. In addition, the great Otis Jiry bless us with a epic display of his craft.
I figured the thing was going after his wife. And I wish he would have informed his superiors of his findings before he confronted that thing, but I can understand why he did not. Again, great story; it's good that the fans don't get everything they want.
This 4hr plus story is excellent! I for one actually look forward to the longer stories although I thoroughly enjoy the not so long ones too. The reading of these long stories must be top notch 10 minutes in and you'll know that Otis Jiry was the perfect narrator here. Dr. Creeper is another that would have done the story justice. Thank you CTFDN

An ADULT reboot of Scooby-Do?!!! That's freaking awesome! I'm glad that ya'll are doing because that movie reboot was just terrible. I grew up with the original Scooby so after that movie it was all just dead to me. I'm sure that CTFDN will do a great job!
That was the most terrifying story I have ever heard. By the end I was breathing hard, covered in goosebumps, and shaking. I've never had that response before. The plot was a masterpiece. I can't get over how good this is.
I stumbled across Otis Jiry not long ago as a method to help me fall asleep. Well it didn't work and now he is the only story teller I look forward to every single night! No sleep but fantastic keep me on the edge stories. This one by far is the absolute BEST! The author is BRILLIANT! And I don't say that lightly; it takes a lot of talent to impress me. I hope he has continued to write more. Mind blowing.
Holy crap! I was on the edge of my chair through this entire story!!!! Best, very best I've heard!!! Many, many, many stars to the author and to Otis!!!! Outstanding, well done! Thank you!
I tried to use this as a way to fall asleep since I need background noise to sleep, but this was such a good story, I sadly stayed awake the majority of the night! So many times, I would come up with a little theory and go "ohshit" when a twist would come up that would ruin my theory- I love this. Going to regret not turning it off though later when I'm in school and struggling to stay awake!
I have heard them all but this is the best Scary Story that I have ever come across. Some get close to being this good.... But this is God Tier suspense and creativity. Absolutely captivating and a benchmark for all creepy pastas to aspire to. I just wish there were more that followed this type of psychology thriller. Ps. I first listened to this story a year ago.
Words cannot describe how much I enjoyed this 4 hour tale. One of the very best I have ever listened to. Thank you for the journey through this chilling tale.

After we delivered the boy to his room and he was restrained and I was walking to the door he said to me your Glock wouldn't have helped you and he said my name ......I never told him my name or revealed I was armed. I looked at him and he smiled and winked at me
My partner told me now why we transported him to Weskoppies. He killed his family and skinned them while they were still alive and that just the start.
Bullsht paramedics aren't allowed that far into psychiatric hospitals. You transfer them to employees of the facilities at an entrance where your, well a real paramedic's restraints would be returned to them and the facilities employees usually security one or two of them and a doctor would take care of intake protocol. The idea that you're actually trying make people believe you can get a Glock in any facility like that which you're not a direct employee of shows how little you know about them. This is one of the best stories I've ever heard and I'm glad that it's going to be made into a film. It was so good that I had to jump on UA-cam to look it up and see what other people thought. Beautifully written and beautifully narrated! Leaving a like doesn't do my love for this story justice. I wish the writer all the best luck and success this wonderful story (which threw me through a loop and when you can surprise someone like me-you've officially written a one of a kind horror story.) most definitely deserves.
Thanks CTFDN for sharing this story. This is one of my favourite stories that I have heard so far. I don't usually do the long versions but I'm glad I decided to listen to this one. I started listening earlier in the evening than usual because I wanted to be able to listen to the whole thing in one go instead of over several days which sometimes happens because of falling asleep during story time. Thanks also to Otis jiry and Jasper DeWitt for writing and narrating.
I love this story!!! finished listening to it on Spotify under the Scary Stories Told in the Dark podcast and this one is my favorite so far, the telling of it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time waiting to find out what the next second was going to bring.

I really appreciate your stories. This is both awesome and disturbingly... creepy. Your videos are very high quality. Thank you Parker for sharing your story. I find it so sad that this guy's Rich parents just want him in a hospital. Specifically in the mental hospital. Just keep the money flowing to that hospital.
Man, this story is not as well known as it should be. Beautiful written, Love the pacing and no filler. Keeps your attention from beginning to end. Trigger warning does have some graphic stuff so yeah..I just skip 20 seconds when it gets too disturbing and then it's fine.
Ahhhh i live for this type of stuff. I love anything horror.😍 i love scary stories. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Maxed out my blue tooth speakers.😂 loved it. I'm always listening to these. Can't get enough. I also fall asleep to these. Keep it up!
Jocylene Joe!!!! Man bravo!! Total mind twister from the beginning just to be a "OMG" in the end. Best story I've heard in a very very long time. Possibly ever. I hope Ryan Reynolds does it justice and doesn't butcher it. Like the movie for "Intensity" by Dean Koonts. So disappointed. That book got me into horror novels , stories etc. anyway I love you your amazing.

Otis Jiry: weird grandpa that tells great stories that give you nightmares

Very good it got me though my work nite.. keepem coming
Absolutely fantastic!
Thanks so much!
Staying awake to listen to this .fantastic narrating and fab story .
This is one of my fav narrations on this channel
Intricate and riveting. LOVED IT!!
Otis, are you available to narrate my life?
This is amazing I can’t even focus on other things!!!
The ending had my jaw hit the floor
Very good story and narration- thank you
Okay...saw that coming at the very very end, but makes it no less scary af. So glad it is becoming a movie, and I hope it doesn't get changed.
Ahhhh i live for this type of stuff. I love anything horror.😍 i love scary stories. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Maxed out my blue tooth speakers.😂 loved it. I'm always listening to these. Can't get enough. I also fall asleep to these. Keep it up!
This is the first time i wanted to listen to a cp as much as this one!!!! Absolutely awesome!
Really diggin your voice. New sub. 🤘🏻😎 this story is amazing.
Ah thanks for that! I can't find the book anywhere and the original on Reddit seems to have been deleted! I'll save it for tonight!
LoL good one. I guessed the end, knowing someone had disappeared.
Super scary! Loved it;)
I knew the ending when he had to go out looking for her.
I hope he never finds out, but you just know he will. The ultimate revenge.
Amazing story.
The narration was incredible.
