Hi! Yes I did mention that. You'd turn off noise reduction and enable detail layer. Input 0.100 say to start on layers 2 and 3 only. See how it works. Make adjustments up or down with the value then as you need to. Thanks for watching! Cheers.
I find it works well all around. RGB/K is fine for either luminance or chrominance image. You could target luminance or lightiness specifically if desired. I've not seen much of difference though. Best is to experiment with your situation and see which will provide the best result.
Hey Shawn, thanks for another excellent tutorial, I’ve been using these techniques you demonstrated in an earlier video, they are working great for me. Quick question - you didn’t mention the Local Support function of TGV Denise, but you have definitely done so in the past. Are you not using it anymore? It’s a simple enough step to do, but perhaps you find it’s not worthwhile? Cheers, Mark.
i guess im asking randomly but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my password. I appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Christian Otto Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Several nice tricks in this video. However you , the layers 1 and 2 show HIGH frequency details (where most noise is) while layers 4,5 and 6 represent LOW frequency details (coarse details of the image - not much noise)
Thanks for sharing your technique Shawn. I always learn from you! Clear skies!
You Save my life!. Very easy to understand. Many thanks!
Excellent clarification; simplified the noise reduction. Thank you
Excellent tutorial on MLT Shawn!!
Hey bud. Thanks for doing this. I had requested awhile back and here it is!
As always: excellent video! Thanks Shawn it helped me to clarify my ideas about these tools.
That's great Olivier! Thanks for watching. Cheers!
So helpful and really appreciate your tutorials.
Glad you like them!
Fantastic tutorial it worked perfectly on my picture. Tank you very much!!!!!
I don't know how I missed this! Now I'm going back and reprocessing old images.
Another great tutorial, thx Shawn...
Thanks Shawn! Very helpful.
Terrific! Glad it helped! Clear skies!
at 2:25 clicking the preview just gives a black mask - solid black. I started with a stacked TIF file from a DSLR camera.
Another fantastic video filled with info I can use in my processing. Thanks!
Well done!! Thank you for simplifying the noise reduction process.
Works great Shawn!
What's up Shawn! Great vids!
Thanks Shawn, Excellent tutorial, this works great!
Well explained! Thanks!
Again, thank you for doing this!
I'm just in the middle of processing the Witch Head nebula, and what do you know, the notification popped up!
Hey Shawn - good tutorial learned a few things thanks for posting.
Did you say at one point that one tool could be used for sharpening as well?

Great Video. One dumb question is does it run the Lightness and the Chrominance together to do you do each one separately?
Yes it applies to both at the same time when using LAB mode. Cheers.
@@VisibledarkAstro Thanks. This video gave me a solution to a lot of noise that somehow crept into one of my targets. It ended up nice an clean.
At what point in the workflow would MLT and TVG be best applied?...
Why you leave target set to the RGB/K componet and not the lumaniance on MLT?

@Cayson Maximiliano instablaster :)

@Christian Otto It worked and I now got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
@Cayson Maximiliano happy to help :)
Do you need to run TGVDenoise twice? Once for lightness and once for chrominance? Thanks
No need to run it twice. Running it once affects both lightness and chrominance when working in LAB mode.
Visibledark Astro thank you!!
