- Learning idioms doesn’t have to feel impossible. The best way to learn new vocabulary is to place it in contexts that you can relate to - that feel real to you. And the more often you see or hear a new vocabulary item, the more likely you are to eventually remember it and use it in your own life. So, if you want to boost your idiomatic English skills and learn more uses for the verb “get,” this video is for you. Watch it to learn the meanings of the following phrases: get one’s hands dirty, get a taste of one’s own medicine, get a second wind, get bent out of shape, and get over something or someone. Pause the video as you watch it, and repeat the examples. Listen and mimic my intonation and pronunciation. When you’re done, get my book, 200 Practical English Idioms, to continue boosting your vocabulary. www.englishalex.com/product-p...

Alex, you have a soothing radio voice. I wish you had a podcast about Learning English that we could listen to.
Maybe one day! I do audio readings of many of my blog posts on englishalex.com. This is the closest I have gotten to doing this. :)
Unfortunately, I can't leave more than one like.
I'm from Mathura,India🇮🇳.I want to just listen the natural english,as english or french used to be normally your mother tongue😅,thats why. These idioms come in our ssc cgl examination that is we get government jobs in various departments like my favourite tax and customs etc. From there,we can become our countries bureaucrats and cabinet ministers, foreign ministers, ambassadors like S.Jaishankar,Pm modi our prime minister of🇮🇳😊.I was doing english papers and so I searched about second form of verb of 'should have done 'and got your video.
Thanks a lot, Alex ❤
Really wonderful ❤
Teacher I have a question, in Canadian English at the end of words do they write IZE or ISE? Do they write it this way Realize or Realise
I did the quiz and I got 9 out 10. Very interesting, it was new for me. Thanks.
Hi Alex.
Thanks for teaching.🤝
But I have one question, why is written on the board “I just got my second wind” ? Should it not be “I have just got my second wind” ?
I’m beginner and can’t understand why is the sentence without “have”.

Hi, Mr. Alex. What's the correct answer, please?
No one can expect an actor (to remember / to be remembered / to have been remembered / to be reminding) all the films he acted in.
Do you have friends who are learning English?
“to remember” is the only option that makes sense to me.
Hello!
You ought dress more warmly, Gared. (Game Of Thones)
Why George R.R. Martin does use "ought", not "ought to"?
