Is anyone else as pissed off as I am that John Shorthouse is not calling this series? They brought in Cuthbert and Simpson from Toronto instead, which totally sucks! These guys know practically nothing about Canucks and Oilers, unlike Shorthouse and his team of Dave Tomlinson, Ray Ferraro, Louis Debrusque, Jack Michaels, Dan Murphy and all the other regular commentators we have become so used to. Shorthouse is the best in the business as far as I am concerned, and as a Canucks fan I'm totally pissed.

I live in a place where I don’t have access to the kind of data package that allows watching the games on stream, and I listen to the games on internet radio feed from Sportsnet 650. Brendan Batchelor and Randip Janda are 1,000 times better than I remember Cuthbert and Simpson (the Oilers “Homer”) being last time i actually got to watch a Hockey Night game. Only problem with the internet radio feed is it runs on about a minute of delay behind the TV broadcast, so if you’re trying to watch with tv on mute and listen to the radio feed might be a little disorienting. Agree though, Shorthouse should be calling Canucks games.

I think it would be wise for Van to take a note from this explanation of the Oilers PP… Petterson on the half wall has proven to be a not a particularly dangerous spot for him at this point

Oilers didn't "choke" in Game 1 ----they got beat by Canucks excellent defensive play that checked and shut down McDavid and all their top guns. As well, unlike the Preds series, Canucks completely reversed their shots on goal situation, and ended up totally dominating Oilers. And let's give credit to great goaltending by Silovs, who despite allowing four goals was still excellent and kept them in it right to the end. And let's not forget that incredibly ridiculous Toronto talking head Kelly Hrudey, who actually said at the end of the second period that Canucks should pull Silovs! Thank God Rick Tocchett isn't that stupid.

I’m an Oilers fan and I totally agree with you. This is right out of the Oilers playbook. They didn’t “choke”, this is what the Oilers do. They can’t seem to find the grit.

Actually, Hrudey does FLAMES local broadcasts and hates the Oilers - he wanted Civovs pulled because he was terrible and he didn't want the Oiler to win the game. Maybe you missed the memo - After Hyman's really weak 4th goal, Oilers didn't get a shot on goal until near the end of the game. You or I could've been in the net with the same outcome. Other than that, game went off the rails when Drai hurt his back - my only hope now is if Hughes gets banged up Oilers target him like your Russian goon is targeting Drai - and I hope the officials tonight call the unnecessary crosscheck that Canucks are giving to Drai when he doesn't even have the puck. This isn't the WWE

Vancouver played well, but Edmonton choked

They choked a 4-1 lead because the canucks out played them. You can choke because the other team is good. The two aren't mutually exclusive haha.

In addition to my earlier comment the Canucks played very well, I didn’t realize they were that good. I think maybe they would have the best chance to get by Dallas/Colorado.
