Shore Jigging | Sydney Harbour Kingfish

- I came to Sydney harbour the other day, practice how to jig, how to shore jigging using 15g metal lure fishing. I practice shore jigging about 2 years, and still need to learn how to jig ashore. I would like to share my shore jigging techniques and tips with other fishing man, just for communicating, maybe not right way of shore jigging, but sometimes could catch some fish.
This time, I got a kingfish shore jigging in Sydney Harbour, near Sydney harbour bridge, Blues Point, this kingfish is 96cm, took the whole metal lures, spent nearly half a hour to land this kingfish, it's an exciting experience landing this monster kingfish with light fishing gear.

@@luke1047 I thought all the jigs works, I tried plenty of different brand and different weight and colour, also lost plenty of them, nowadays I just use the cheaper one bought on line. you could get something if keep casting, and have a good luck!

Thank you mate! The rod is Daiwa Steez STZ 641LFS-SV Kingbolt F-spec. its Light and fast Action, and Line weight just 2.5-5lb. it's not suitable for jigging, just a light spin rod.but good for small fish.

Hi mate, this one is on high tide, I also got on low tide, especially Jewfish, cause the water there is deep about 15-20mts, so I would come to try if the weather is fine, would catch something if lucky. Anyway, Good Luck Mate! 👍

Awesome video and fish! Why did you wet the line mid fight? i'd be worried about dropping tension/ tip wrap during this.

Normally I will wet the line before fishing using fresh water cause it would be stronger when in water, I would put the line in the water many times when fighting become so hard, the line is easy to be hot and dry to reduce the power and easy to broken if not wet. anyway, very lucky this time! 😂

Thank you mate! the leader is 15LB, normally around 3-5kg, the knot maybe around 3kg, and straight power about 5kg.
Then what's your heavier setup?
Hi Mate, Rock fishing for King, I would use PE5 and leader 80LB, and if Kayak for king, using PE3 and 40lb. Thanks!
