Aomine's the best bcoz he completely n quickly understands the game...then he turns that game into his style....everyone has a special ability...Kise-copying, Akashi-emperor eye, Murasakibara- height, Kagami- jumping, Midorima- three pointer...but Aomine doesn't need any specific talents....he's just him. N thats wht makes him AOMINE.
Its called fundamentals. And incredible undpredictibility, he's wild, like an animal, you don't know what he's gonna do next while having incredibly solid basics he goes further beyond.
Aomine is the second very next to Akashi. But they need Aomine too improve Kagami and Kuroko but if Seirin loose to another team than Too Aomine will be the challenge just before Akashi

Kise with perfect copy and zone is the best player in the entire series and with Akashi unlocking the full power of his emperor eye and Midorima's defense further improved because of him getting a bit bigger. If anything Aomine is now on par with Murasakibara who himself did not improve at all.
Aomine still remains the strongest from Generation of Miracles even though he didn't even train since the end of the middle school. Such a badass character
This show would've been way more brutal if Aomine actually practiced hard for 2 years like the other members of the GoM. The Aomine we saw in the show was the same level as his middle-school self, except for maybe physical stats. Middle-School Aomine dominated all of Seirin at once, that's pretty absurd. Those are 2 years you'll never get back Aomine :P, nobody could have beaten you if you actually practiced man.
+Scott Brown There's a character in Slam Dunk called Mitsui who quit basketball for two years and then came back. I think it's interesting because he could have been the best player if he hadn't quit too. xD

I'll make a point right here, Akashi v Aomine would be intense. Akashi has his emperor eye, but it's not useful if you're not quick enough to respond with a defensive move or offensive move face it Aomine is special and would never lose if he went back to working out
They call him “ACE” for a reason. Akashi needs zone to beat all 5 players, while Aomine doesn't need it. C'mon, Even Kuroko could steal the ball from Akashi in the zone. do u ever expect Kuroko to steal ball from Aomine? Never! When Akashi is cornered or at least when he’s in position that was not been able to shoot, he still needs his teammate’s help to score like he did vs Shutoku ( he passed the ball to Nebuya with his elbow). And when Akashi decided to play alone by himself, he lost to Kuroko’s quasi emperor eye. Lol. Aomine has abilty and speed, his play is unpredictable, he could do formless shoot too, so he could score from every angle with only one hand. Akashi doesn’t have great strenght like Murasakibara, Agilty and speed like Aomine, shooting accuracy like Midorima, and Techique like Kise. He just average player who could only depends on emperor eye. He could only predict movement, but couldn’t react so fast(remember Murasakibara explanation when Akashi stole ball from Midorima). Aomine could react so fast to protect the ball, although Akashi predict his movement. I mean, Akashi couldn’t keep pace with him. Akashi know that he has limit. Example, When Akashi was trying to stop Kagami’s meteor jam, he knew that he couldn’t steal the ball from him because kagami was too fast, so all he could do just to make Kagami’s shoot to miss. Aomine is more faster than kagami. So if Akashi couldn’t keep up with Kagami’s speed, how about vs Aomine then? Haha. Akashi has weakness in term of skill, but Aomine doesn’t. Aomine’s problem is only Zone’s time limit, but he just need to gain more endurance by training, so his zone’s time limit could last longer. The conclusion is...if it’s Touou vs Rakuzan, maybe Rakuzan would win. But when it comes to 1 on 1, Aomine is the strongest. HIS STYLE OF PLAY ISN’T DESIGNED TO RELY ON TEAMMATES. And the last thing u need to remember, Aomine hasn’t even been training for a long time. Lol *sorry for my bad english

+Ohtori Sakuya Akashi won't even need zone to beat Aomine imo, his Emperor Eye can nullify any move before the opponent even realizes what happened. For an example look at Rakuzan-Shutoku, there was this moment where Midorima went for a 3 pointer without a fake, when Midorima was mid air he realised Akashi already tipped the ball away. I dont think there is any chance Aomine would be able to go for a drive or something with Akashi on him
Dave DO Well maybe with his Zone speed+ his formless shoots he might still be able to put up somewhat of a fight, but yeah 1v1 Akashi is basically unbeatable. Aomine's only hope would be if he could get away from Akashi and have his teammates pass him the ball (since after that he can score pretty much guaranteed), but even that probably won't work twice. He'd need at least two teammates or so to keep Akashi in check while he keeps scoring, but Akashi can just ankle break them to get them out of his way.
+Ohtori Sakuya True Aomine can probably put up a decent fight, but i believe it could only be for a couple of minutes again looking at the rakuzan-shutoku game, Akashi easily broke Midorima and Takao's shot combination after it worked like 5/6 times. Even if Aomine would get help from his team (which i doubt he'd accept right away) it wouldn't last long. And even his zone can be broken with ankle breaking, just look at Kagami. Though it would definitely be one hell of a 1on1!
I used to think Aomine and the Touou matches were overrated, until I watched them again, they are easily the best matches with my second being the Yosen game
