Hello from Mexico city. I love your euphorbia and I have a question. I just got my first euphorbia Ritchie , you know, they come in a black bag. So I repoted it, I planted the pups into other pots and everything looks good. Exept for the mother plant. It is bending down. Like it got soft in the lower part that is not inside the soil. Will it die? Will the soft part harden again? Hey. And a last one. When they grow too tall. Can we just cut them half the way in hight? I don't want it super tall. Short is cuter. Thank you. I like your channel. Regards.
Hi Salvador, so happy you like my channel, thats fantastic you have got a Euphorbia ritchei, if the lower part on your plant is not going brown and rotting then it should be ok, these Euphorbias do have a bit of a habit of bending and the lower part close to the base will be slightly softer and as long as the lower part is not showing any signs of rot then your plant should be perfectly ok, its best to not cut these plants, but the good news is as these plants grow they will naturally lean over to the side and stay more as a clumping plant as the stems will lean over the pot and mature specimens make lovely hanging basket plants, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and happy growing with your new Euphorbia ritchei, wishing you a fantastic plant powered Thursday XXXX

@@desertplantsofavalon thanks so much dear, for the love and light you bring to our lives through your content. Big hug from sunny Rhineland-Palatine in the southwest of Germany 🇩🇪
Hi! I believe my Euphorbia ritchiei is facing an issue. Last night, it began to bend over, and upon closer inspection, I noticed it had turned slightly yellow and appeared mushy about one or two inches above the soil on the stem. Initially, I suspected overwatering, so I carefully removed the soil and examined the roots, but they seemed fine. I decided to repot the plant using a well-draining mix and added some support in hopes of saving it. Do you have any suggestions on what might be causing this issue and how I can rescue my plant?
So sorry to hear about your Euphorbia ritchiei, the good news is if the roots are ok your plant is not rotting from the roots, and you have done the best thing to remove from the pot and repot into a well draining mix, but if the base of the plant is yellow and soft it can be a cause for concern, sometimes these plants will be more yellow at the base and will feel a bit 'spongy' to touch at the lower part of the stem and base, if there are no brown signs of rot its very possible that your plant will be ok, keep a close eye on it though and if it looks like the yellow and softness is spreading up the plant it may be best to cut it from above where the softness and yellowing is just in case it has rot internally and then treat the plant as a cutting, I am not sure what could have caused it but sometimes the wrong soil or being kept too damp for too long may cause issues with the base rotting, but often these plants can feel a bit spongy and be more yellow from the base naturally, keep me updated on how your Euphorbia gets on, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching, sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
