  • I was fortunate enough to have unrestricted access to the Fazioli F278 in Fazioli's private room at their booth at NAMM 2019. Later, I had the incredible opportunity to have a short interview with Mr. Fazioli himself, and he explains the story behind his piano's signature sound.

A shout out to mr. Fazioli. Thank you so much for making my piano my 278 I love it.I have been talking to my wife about downsizing from my home and I told her I will not trade my f278 for a smaller piano or another brand. I will just find a place for it no matter what. Thank you again for the magic that you have created in this wonderful instrument!!

The sustain is remarkable and the bass notes even through the compression of YT sound deep, powerful and velvety.

I would have loved to meet the great masters of the past, but the closest I ever came was to play on Horowitz's piano when I was about 8 years old. Since that time Steinway has taken it apart and removed all of the special changes that Horowitz had done during his lifetime. Their goal was to make it sound like a new Steinway instead of Horowitz's piano. A great part of history has been lost forever. I would have loved to study the original Horowitz piano and understand just a little bit of who he was as a musician.

Love the tone and playing! Faziolis are wonderful pianos. I know two people who own a Fazioli. But a little sterile sounding to me. I guess I’m just more use to the Steinway tone. Maybe my opinion would change if I played both side by side and in person. I guess that’s what made me choose my Estonia. It seems to mimic the sound of a Hamburg Steinway which is to my preference. I appreciate Faziolis pursuit of perfection though!

    • @ThePianoforever

People ask this question all of the time, and the answer is always the same, not if you enjoy playing! If you sit down once a day and practice for a period of time that you can allot once a day you will learn the piano. I started a little series that you can follow online and it is without charge. I will include a link at the end of this comment. It is in a series of three videos, Performance, lesson, and scales. Watch all three videos, then you can start on the scales. Do not try to play fast as that will com naturally over time. Try to play smoothly, once you start to get the hang of it a little bit try playing along at a super slow tempo. If you would like you can pick up speed over time, but always try to play accurately before speed.
