Awesome video. It’s crazy I remember the 300 being so fast when I was a kid lol. I have a rancher and a recon and I used gps on the recon and it topped out at exactly 45mph
@@rockspowersportsright! Haha. Everything is smaller and slower. Of course I was about 12 when I thought the 300 fourtrax was super fast, but I still think it’s one of the best ATVs ever made. I’ve always been a huge Honda fan and I’ve owned every other Japanese brand as well as Bombardier and Polaris, but nothing gives me that feeling of reliability and nostalgia like a Honda fourtrax 300.
Same, I remember riding a fourtrax 300 when I was a kid it felt like 50 mph . I bought one a few months ago at 41 years old for the plain fact it was the same model I grew up on. Much slower today lol
Most people are willing to sacrifice the rough ride for the extreme reliability. Hard too beat those old Honda's. They just keep going and going. Easy on fuel and when they do brake you can actually work on it.
@Shane Giggie06 . I agree most will sacrifice ride for reliability. Parts are very easy to find for these Hondas also which is a great thing now a days.. I’ve literally ordered parts for a arctic cat last year and they were on back order for 7months…
I have a question my dad just bought 2 r nice 1997 Honda 300 fortrax 4x2 both of them have the original tires on them he is getting new tires for them the ones on them now are on way back is 25 x 11 9 the front ones are 23 x 8 11 the new tires he is getting are. 24 x 10 11 for the back the front ones are 24 x8 11 they are the right size right if you can lmn
@@movingchannels8547 So i just looked back and i actually bought mine off amazon here is the link. If i remember correctlly they were a hair taller than stock but still fit in there, just gave a little more clearance. amzn.to/3LGgtrD
I've got a 05 Honda Rancher 350FM. Thing is a workhorse, but the ride is terrible. Within 15-20 minutes of riding, my back is throbbing. Use it for plowing and pulling logs for firewood. Have a 2020 King Quad 500 for trail riding, so much more comfortable and better handling. Do like the foot shift on the Honda though better. Not a fan of the CVT auto's. Much rather shift.
@KyletheFryan. Nice the ranchers are tough work horses as well! I’ve never tried the king quad 500 but I’m sure it’s similar to the 750 kingquad and that was a good ringing machine back in 2015.
@@rockspowersports I really wanted a 750 but they only had a red one without eps. This was back when COVID bullshit was going on full steam, so they didn't know when they'd be getting more. They had the one 500 and was green, which is the color I wanted. EPS costs like $1500 I think but with a bad shoulder and issues with hands and arms it's nice to have.
@@kylethefryan1111 eps is very nice if you have a bad shoulder or arms there’s very little effort with it. And the 750 power is nice, but that 500 you have will do everything you need it too.
We just bought a 1995 Honda 300 4x4 and the front propeller shaft (drive shaft) has a leak, where it goes into the transfer case. The oil seal actually wore a groove into the propeller shaft. To bad I can't find a brand new shaft for it. It looks like Honda discontinued that part now. :(
Honda's 2 best wheelers, right there!

Yeah I use to have a little Yamaha moto 4 200 when I was a kid and I thought that thing was a little race machine. Not so much now haha

love your videos, lots of how-to-fix-it videos out there not a lot of actually driving offroad.
Great review ,helpful and concise thank you !
Always liked the foreman 400 and 450's

1998 runs like a freaking top with just a little maintenance. 52 and my butt doesn't need to go over 30...
I would love to have a 300 honda

Hey man I was wondering in ur personal opinion would you haul another person one the 300? Or would u rather haul another person on the Forman ?
They both would handle a second person no problem. The foreman is a little bigger so would be a little better.
Where did you get your shocks for your foreman I in need for some
I got a cheap set off eBay.
@@rockspowersports could you give me a link

@Rocks Powersports those ones look exactly the same one as I got how did you get them to fit my foreman has a 2 inch lift kit so idk
@moving channels I’m not sure if they would fit with your lift, I believe they would but my foreman did not have a lift in it.
Nice video and info
good video but next time put a rag over your speaker so wind is gone noise or a sponge
I had a mic inside my helmet but it was acting up and I didn’t realize until after I got done the whole video.
