- It's been twenty years since the very first HondaJet took flight, but where is it now?
Travel back in time with us as we relive that highly-anticipated event through the eyes of two of our engineers who experienced it firsthand. Keep watching to learn how the story has unfolded since then and what that very first aircraft has been up to in all that time.

That livery is what i see in my mind when I hear 'Honda Jet'! Such an iconic look!
I want to share this is because I want Honda to compete against Boeing and Airbus to make bigger planes, all because I always want Japan to make their first commercial airplane!
I am wondering why there is no mention of the founder of the Honda jet and the person responsible for the innovative over the wing engine mount design, Michimasa Fujino? He should always be a prominent part of any historical Honda Jet video, since without him the Honda jet would notexist today. I am also wondering why they didn't conduct a ferry flight to get it to Japan? I suppose because it had been sitting around disused for too many years and would've been too great a hassle to get flight ready. definitely plan on buying one the next time I win the lottery.
I really appreciate Honda for making this video for us to enjoy, and I'm glad #1 is still around being treasured! I fly out of FXE and I enjoy seeing all the HondaJets coming and going, quickly and quietly. :)
this is truly a very good example of what hard work and a good team can do. pretty amazing.
Professional!
Simply awesome!
HONDA. THE POWER OF DREAMS.
❤💙
I was an 8 year old at the time of the first Honda Jet. I went to an event that had the plane and got to look inside it. Never had the opportunity to fly in a Honda Jet. Right now, my CR-V is good though. :) I'll make a trip to Japan and see it again. Good Memories.
Currently living in Northern Japan and saw her a little under two months ago at the Misawa Aviation Museum. What a beautiful bird she is.
This is so beautiful, looking forward to own an Echelon one day. Great job Honda, cheers!
you will surely own one
Outstanding
You guys are absolutely amazing!!! I wish you lots of success you totally deserve it!
Awesome to see the HondaJet dream continuing to grow!
A great video of a great achievement, kudos to everyone involved 👏👏

Congratulations to Honda and the entire team - a wonderful product and experience.
An amazing aircraft, looking forward to seeing what HACI brings to the market in the next 50 years!
Well done, video team. This is a wonderful production and a perfect historical record. (The highlight, though, is that awesome Maintenance Technician at the beginning, “What?!?”)
Such great aviation achievements, from the original to the soon the Echelon.
Thanks for sharing this iconic story in aviation.
Very good video showing the history and development of the Honda Jet. Keep the videos coming. Cheers and greetings from a humble CFI in Las Vegas, NV.
Love this
It still turns heads to this day.
I'm in this video for a few seconds.
Perfect resting place for an icon.
I hope Honda could make the H300 so it competes against the Boeing 737 and Airbus A350.
That will be awesome!
Yet seeing that video give me a sense of hope to see Honda or any Japanese company to make an airplane to compete against Boeing and Airbus all because of the A350 incedent in Japan is to see plane to compete in thesr categories.
H300 competese with B737 and A320
H400 competes with the B757 and A340
H500 competes with the B777 and A350
H600 competes with the B787 and A360
H700 competes with the B747 and A380
That is what I want from Honda and I bet all of Qantas fleet from Australia will all be only Honda and that Qantas will be Hondajet's number 1 customer to see Honda makeing planes in Australia to sell to Qantas.
From Championship winning F1 engines and moto GP bikes nothing Honda cannot do 🎉
Honda bike is my favourite
Who came up with the script HondaJet logo?
I am seeing this because of what has happened to the A350 in Japan to see if Honda could compete against Boeing and Airbus.
Cirrus or HondaJet?
🇰🇪🇰🇪
Why didn't they just fly it to japan instead of shipping it there?
Not enough hours left on the airframe
