      @zayinghui6282 4 роки тому +63

      Kerelos Tawfik so basically your bones are very strong when compressed aka contact straight to the bone or pressure straight on the bone. But when for example your ankle is twisted with a good amount of force, this would most likely lead to leg fractures or if your wrist is twisting in a direction and you land on it the wrist or forearm bones could break. Torsion or this twisting or bones or complimentary bones lead to fractures in most cases. Another fact is the average human breaks 2 bones in their lifetime.

      @@zayinghui6282 this is why when people fall and catch themselves they break their collarbone but their arm bones can be fine. The force travels straight up their arm compressing the bone then it gets to the collarbone and twists the bone. Putting the clavicle under tension.

      Ya... micro fractures in your bone doesn't make it stronger. I saw a live stream of Robin Black discussing how Muay Thai fighters don't throw calf kicks because of how easy it is for the one throwing it to injure themselves. And in Thailand if you're a pro Muay Thai fighter in your teens if you break that shin your family starves.
      I think leg kicks became more of a thing in MMA cause nobody was checking them cause they weren't thrown really hard, it was like a jab in a kick form just to land a strike for the score card.
      But people start throwing them harder, then people start checking them, and eventually there's more leg breaks from throwing kicks then we've seen before.
      Idk, Robin Black articulated it in a way I personally can't. But ya, if anyone wants to say I don't know what I'm talking about, go find Robin Blacks video and his description of it and talk crap there.
      I personally don't have time or the care/attention span to get into a macho UA-cam argument.

    The thing with leg kicks is people will argue for their inclusion, because its more practical than not having them, but are they worth the risk of a broken shin? At the end of the day if you are good at leg kicks you are also good at kicking someone in the nuts which is clearly the better target than the thigh in a real fight.

      In a real fight I say do whatever you can to win, but be prepared to get shamed or possibly jumped for fighting dirty. And to answer your question it depends, because leg kicks are extremely effective but if you’re gonna be a kickboxer you have to condition your shin, set up your kick’s properly, and to add way more to your arsenal, like knees and oblique kicks.

    • @agestone
      @agestone Рік тому

      I agree. We wear boots on the street. Why use low kick, ripping your foot off, if you can do a straight kick with your sole to any part of the opponent's body without any self damage? Like Savate fighters do. Plus, trajectory of front kick is shorter. Nothing can be more practical than low front kick. I saw average market grandma kicking big guy in the leg, and guy was in big pain. No conditioning, no technique, just straight ugly kick in boots to the bone. It's more than practical, it's natural)

    I delt with Shin to shin contact in highschool when I played a friendly soccer match with my "then" team mates. We were a part of the cross country team, but we regularly played soccer afterwards because we loved it so much and loved to socialize and we were great friends and we were Savage, shout out to any former XC runners. Now, the person who drew contact with me was the brother of my former team mate and he played tennis. Two very different sports, specifically I can distinguish the microfractures Joe was talking about, which is always a hot topic for runners. So, we hit each other's shins and I left with a giant welt on my shin and the initial strike was horrifically painful, truthfully the worst physical pain I have ever felt( I have never broken a bone, which is about as worse as it gets im guessing) but my shin held up and it healed and I'm sure his felt just as fucked up as mine. I believe I didn't emphasize sufficiently the pain of shin to shin contact, just saying it brought me to a full stop and limp and I had to quit there. years later(now, 2020) my shins are much more sensetive than they were when I ran miles and miles and miles year round for 4 years. I kick my younger brother impulsively, not pathologically or maliciously but for fun because I like to play rough and watching so many UFC fights has propplled my love for physical attacks (lol) and a small kick stimulates a type of mild pain, granted my tibia isn't what it used to be :)
